Normally a friend and myself come here for lunch. At first we noticed that it's always dead at lunch time and there was a lot of waitresses and three managers on. Wow holy labor. Today we get our food and we look at our plates and they just look sad. My friend ordered a Swiss burger and fries. Her plate comes out with what looks like ten fries and the mushrooms are raw and hard. My food was ok, fries were skimpy and they had no cocktail sauce for the shrimp,instead some weird Russian mayo mixture. The one manager asks if my friend would like for her to saute the mushrooms. ???????Well yes that's the way they should of been cooked in the first place. Then we were told the Fry's had been weighed wrong. They did redo the mushrooms and gave us more Fry's and comped the one meal, but wow come on. Stayed at a hotel in the same parking lot so we ate here twice because it was convenient. The Good-The Tables were cleaned after a person left and again as they were seating you! The Eeh-The waitstaff was ok, they didn't seem very friendly and attentive, but a smile really goes a long way, and these days smiles are covered up, so it was hard to tell if they cared or not. The Bad-The food was not great, my turkey club was cold, like they just took the meat out of the freezer and it was defrosting on my bread cold. Also, the food did not look yummy, no garnish, no powered sugar on top of French toast, it just looked like there is a pandemic and they are just slapping sub-par food on a plate and you will eat it and not complain b/c if you do you seem ungrateful.. Had a horrible experience coming to IHOP. I checked in and was 5th in line on the waiting list. The lady at the front said it would be 20-30 minutes as they weren't too busy. My wife and I waited in our car for over an HOUR and just decided to leave. Went at NOON on a Sunday (12/2/18). Waited over an hour to get our food while people who came after us were served before us. By the time my meal came my husband was almost finished eating. When my food finally did arrive it was cold and was not as I had ordered it. When Watertown gets a new restaurant, it's the place to go for a month or two. There were high hopes for IHOP when it showed up. Unfortunately, the level of quality is lacking. When you enter a place that is dead, people should not be waiting for someone to seat them for five minutes. The food was ok at best, but I would not add cold tomato's and cheese to an omelette. This is perhaps the worst IHOP I've ever been to. We were visiting my mom and decided to take her here as it's new to Watertown. We got there and ordered and waited...and waited...and waited. It was 45 minutes before we began to think that perhaps we were being avoided. We finally asked the people next to us how long they waited. They waited an hour so we knew it was not just us. Our food finally came and my food was not warm but I was so hungry I had to eat something. My boyfriend (who also posted a review) had an undercooked country fried steak. When I complained the waitress was very stressed. We soon found out they were recovering from a massive rush. We were trying to be kind but also we were looking at a half empty restaurant. The manager (Wilbur) came out and spoke to us and we soon learned he was on his day off. He comped my meal and gave us 10% off. It's clear that they were trying to do more with less kitchen staff. To be clear, the service was not the problem. It was the kitchen staff. If you have that many people in seats you need to have staff to accommodate the amount of food to cook.
