This is the first time I have been disappointed with my breakfast at ihop. I ordered over easy eggs but got medium cooked. I know if I had asked for replacement they would have done it. They mess up our food but eventually they kind of got it right. when coming to Ihop you expect pancakes with your order (depending on what you get) and when my order did not come with pancakes as it should have the waitress had the nerve to say "oh you're still waiting on your pancakes." Well yeah because why did my breakfast sampler not come with it. Had to wait like 5-7 mins for some pancakes. Less than stellar service and yes I know everywhere is short of wait staff, but when you have been waiting and the waitress literally walks past you to take the order of a table that had just been seated, that is a problem. A very unsatisfactory visit to iHop. Grits were not fully cooked and very gritty. Toast was not buttered. And the damn salt and pepper shaker was a workout in itself. I have been to a lot of IHOPs all over the country, it is a favorite comfort food stop when traveling with the kids. This 1-star review is means to communicate my complete disdain for this particular location, and to warn traveling families away. We arrived for a late dinner (9 pm) and were seated away from the entrance in an empty section, there were about 4 other tables with patrons. We sat. And sat. The staff (we counted 5 on the floor) dealt with other tables and then stood around and talked to each other, a couple of them sat down at a table. I did the whole "make eye contact with the server to get their attention" thing and twice they looked at us, turned to the other person and laughed. Well, the second time they laughed and pointed. Really, I have never been treated in such a way. So in the ten minutes it took to book the hotel room on the smart phone we were stared at, laughed at, pointed at, watched customers come and leave, watched other tables be served ... we finally got up and walked out without saying a word, they just stared and let us go. My husband and I love the IHOP on Weslyan Boulevard in Rocky Mount. The new management is wonderful! The wait staff is friendly and very efficient. The food is wonderful. My husband and I try to eat there at least two mornings a week and a couple of evenings a month.They are always putting something new on the menu for morning and evening meals. We highly recommend the IHOP in Rocky Mount. We also highly recommend the omelettes and the chicken crepes with hollandaise sauce. Also the buttermilk pancakes, the blueberry pancakes, and the Swedish crepes. read more

My family and I went on Veterans Day so I could receive my breakfast for the day. We were there for a while, not too long, but as we waited for our food to come, a lady and her daughter came in and sat beside behind my bf. The mother left, went to the car, and came back with a very small, mangy and sickly looking dog(as it was shaking). I looked around and other customers were looking at us and around with shocked faces. The greeter and even the manage seemed to have no problem as they say she comes in often and she's shown paper work. I have no idea how this animal served its purpose as a "service dog". I have a beautiful, well groomed Chihuahua mixed with a Jack Russell and I don't even eat in my own house around him and I refused to eat near a dog. I have not been since and I tell ppl about my experience. It was not pleasant. The woman offered to move, but it was just the principality of it all. There is a different between service animals and emotional support animals. Any one around could have been allergic even and it wasn't shown as respect from the manager from his other customers, regardless of the situation. I saw some older reviews indicating bad service. We stopped here at 7am after driving throughout the night. Bad luck for us that we arrived after a party of 22. However, Tina (the manager) stayed on after a 12 hour shift to serve our party of 9. And she did it with a smile. We even had kids with us that wanted their food their own special ways. I have been to this establishment many times, but last week, it was like being on the show, Punked. I guess the air conditioning was leaking everywhere because my grandmother got rained on while sitting in the corner. The whole ceiling looks like it is about to fall on customers.The whole building needs to be renovated: chipped paint, torn seats and crayon-marked walls. Dirty dishes were left on a line of tables and the waitresses were in no rush to remove them. Our waitress "overheated" a saucer of strawberries, but did not wipe the edge of the saucer for presentation. It looked like a volcano and turned my grandmother off. Our waitress did not come to check on us not even once during the visit. I believe she was new and scared. All of the employees were in the back chatting nonstop, which looked like a health hazard near the kitchen. Definitely not worth another visit. read more
