We have come back a couple times since opening and have noticed a good difference in quality and service. The food has been consistent and decent but is IHOP still so it's nothing spectacular. Our service has been great every time with no issues. I would definitely give them a higher rating if IHOP could just improve their food. I didn't want to write this review. It's horrible, the service and food that is. We were seated quickly, but no drink order or waitress for 10 minutes. You could tell they were short-staffed, but no manager to help. When we ordered the waitress got both of our orders wrong. Both Orders! I ordered a Biscuit & Gravy Combo. Instead, I got a side of biscuits & gravy. Ugh! They did send the rest of the combo but it took 15 minutes for hashbrowns, eggs, sausage link, and bacon strip. My wild red head ordered the Crepe Combo. She only got the crepes. Double Ugh! She didn't want to wait. The food was dismal at best. The biscuits looked like flattened hockey pucks. Very dense and cake-like in the middle. Nothing light and flaky noted. Reminded me of the mcmuffins at the clown place. Yuck! The lemon ricotta crepe filled was void of any flavor except for the blueberries. Did ya'll forget to add lemon? The ricotta reminded us of unflavored yogurt without the tang. Yuck! The bacon strips were gelatinous. Very thin, barely cooked. Weak bacon flavor. Yuck! The only items decent were the hash browns and sausage gravy. Everything else? Yuck! I guess i am late to the game. I did not know restaurants like IHOP use pancake batter in their omelettes to make them fluffy. And this was long before the cost of eggs had started to skyrocket. Being a low-carb keto person I had asked for low-carb options and was informed that they use batter in their omelettes. I was given a lot of grief from the wait staff when I asked him to just make real eggs. I was informed that they were not allowed to do that. I feel the consumer has every right to this information and that it should be included on all their menus. I come here two or three times a week. The service is always good. Never have to ask for much since the wait staff is on top of things. Ordered a simple burger with fries. Nothing special and a French toast combo scrambled eggs with cheese and French toast and bacon. The burger was dry, overcooked, and the bacon that was on it was nearly raw. Talk about gross. Then the French fries, they were rock hard, and so unedible that my dog would not even eat them. I called the restaurant and they took my information and said they would give me a credit. I asked them how I would get the credit and was told that I had to come in the restaurant to get it. It was early in the morning that we tried going out to our first in-restaurant meal. It had been way over 2 years and I was nervous. Yes, we were being overly cautious: it was Sept. 2022 and we were giving IHOP the honor of being our first restaurant after the Covid scare. I felt like I had to relearn my "eating out skills" - but the waitress sensed my nervousness and she didn't rush us. My husband ordered the pancakes and I order the omelette with bacon, tomatoes and cheese. It was a good meal, plenty to eat, and the coffee pot was put on our table for us to have refills. And yes, the restaurant was not crowded - we sat alone most of the time and as we were finishing, the tables around us began to fill up. Below par today: This is the first time the food took a long time to come out. The country omelet had rubbery hash browns inside, way over cooked. The ultimate breakfast, the bacon was like rubber, the eggs were a little rubbery and had a strange fish taste to them. I love crispy hash browns, which normally you have to ask for. Mine were already crispy, but also rubbery. The above mention was not edible. The pumpkin pancakes were delicious. The waitress was friendly. I let her know if the issues before I realized how bad everything else was. I told her I didn't want anything in return and no credit, just to know this was our worst experience with the food this time. The manager didn't come out. The guy in the kitchen with shoulder length hair did not have a hairnet, which is required. He also had facial hair with no protective net. This means he was working over our food without a mask as per CDC guidelines. So failed CDC and FDA guidelines. Two stars, one for the friendly waitress and one for the pancakes. Giving me a link to the main store in Palm Coast isn't going to help my complaint. They are the ones that left the sugar ant covered container at our table. You try eating dry pancakes with just butter. We don't want a credit or to contact this store regarding this matter. The employees don't care. So why would the manager care. You had 4 health inspection violations. This unfortunately, this behavior was on their list. Whether it's a minor infraction, it still needs to be addressed. I was very hesitant due to the amount of bad reviews I've seen and heard from friends but decided to give it a shot anyway. when i first walked in, i noticed there was definitely going to be a wait time, luckily we only waited 5 minutes. Tried it for a 3rd time since I had a gift card. The food was better tasting. I got the Southwest Scramble, it was a toss up between that and the mushroom spinach omelette but I was interested in the avocado. Well it comes out as an omelette not scrambled (which is fine they're basically the same) with salsa. No visible cheese on top, maybe cooked with cheese - ok, and no avocado. So eggs with salsa. I asked them about the avocado but they said it wasn't ripe. I doubt they even had avocados. I wish they told me before bringing it out, or when ordering, or when they did bring it out. They just hoped I wouldn't notice. And then still charged me full price. My son got the funny face pancake because it was a funny face.. came out as a thin chocolate chip pancake with whipped cream. Its just presentation but it's part of the experience. I could have made him pancakes but the face was what sold him. They also, I suppose, aren't a participating location for kids eat free. Which again isn't a big deal since we had the gift card, it was only 6$, and we didn't ask before hand. It was the combo of the let down of no avocado and hoping I wouldn't notice and the disappointed no face on pancakes.. But the plus was that the eggs did taste good and they were fluffy and maybe 3 egg omelette. Was going to say the restaurant looked clean but then remembered when we walked in there was a wet floor sign on the floor over a puddle. And when we left an hour later, it was still there. Let me start by saying that I understand social distancing means a limited number of available tables. When we checked in as a party of two, we were number 4 on their manually kept list. There were other parties that checked in after us - one of them was a party of six. When they were seated first, I completely understood as there was a large table available. However, when a party of two was seated that came in ten minutes after us, that is UNACCEPTABLE.
