I have avoided IHOP in the mount Vernon for years. I'm glad I came here with my family today. Our waiter wAs Logan. He was very attentive and the perfect amount aid friendliness but not over bearing. About 5 pm Saturday the 19th, I had a bad experience at Ihop in Mount Vernon, WA. Both a family member and I ordered sirloin steak tips rare and they came to us well done and somewhat chewy. It would have taken too long to have them redone (if the cook could have done it correctly anyway, so we just ate them). They weren't cheap. About $28 together. IF I eat there again, I won't order that item and probably not a steak. Manager was just standing around doing nothing. :( read more

The food was great as always, but the service was horrendous. It is Father's Day, late in the afternoon and it takes 30 minutes to get our food. The restaurant is empty, so no reason for the delay. Eh... we ended up here on a Monday morning because another local breakfast joint looked full. I haven't been to an IHOP in years, never to this one. The building itself was nice, I know it's still fairly new. Table was clean. Cute little kid's menu that comes with two crayons. Nothing on the menu really jumped out at me. There *is* a variety, I just wasn't feeling it, I guess. I ended up with the "SIMPLE & FIT Vegetable Omelette" with no cheese. Super bland and the eggs just tasted like meat. Not great for a vegetarian, but comes with the territory. Oddly expensive considering the ingredients, but I know this specific location doesn't set the prices. The kids and their mom enjoyed their food. I guess kids eat free after 4 pm. Jenn the waitress was nice but seemed pretty overwhelmed. I personally wouldn't go back (just so many better options) but it could be a lot worse. read more

First, the air conditioner must not work. It's humid and warm. I should have turned around and left. The first table we were seated at was very dirty and extremely sticky. The second was at least not sticky. The food came quickly, but the hash browns were soggy, the "chicken fried steak" was not very good at all. I'm pretty sure the eggs are purchased pre mixed. I got the bill for myself and my 8 year old and it was $30!!! We could have eaten somewhere cool and clean with much much better food for this price. Never again! read more

We were driving through and hadn't had dinner yet and decided what better on a Friday night on a road trip down to Seattle then some delicious pancakes. The sign just jumped out at us as if to tell us to stop here and get some grub. We stopped in at IHOP and had good service and good pancakes. I know for some this might be unusually high stars but really they earned it! Our server (receipt says server 2027 guada lup) was so kind and really treated us more like 5 star guests. We went for dinner thinking we'd order a breakfast. Instead we order chicken breast fillet, mash red potatoes and broccoli. The flavor was surprisingly good. A lot like home cooked with veggies. I'm in no way saying its health food but rarely do you get vegetables with your meal. The chicken was thin pressed white meat. The portions were good. First of all I'm not one to complain, but this was one of the worst I've ever experienced. We were seated and no one came by to give us water for 5-10 min. I believe we were being taken care of by the hostess... then we gave our orders and waited 30-40 minutes for our food. My kids got their food and we were informed that my salad was being remade because they screwed it up. They brought my salad and it was missing the blue cheese crumbles. I asked for that and some ranch for my son. Still no chicken sandwich for my husband. She brought my cheese, but no ranch. This is the best part! My husband gets his sandwich way after we'd been eating and it is RAW, completely uncooked all the way through! He almost puked... he talks to the manager and is so mad he dosent want anything else. It took forever for someone to come and seat us. We were getting ready to leave and go to Dennys but our granddaughter was looking forward to eating here. We asked for a table with chairs instead of a booth and the hostess seemed very irritated about it. She didn't greet us or smile or seem at all pleasant. The server seemed kind of frazzled even though it didn't seem very busy. She was very nice and was obviously trying, however she got both mine and my husband's orders wrong. Went for thanksgiving dinner, arrived around 1pm, ordered our food and around 2 the waitress said that she got delayed in entering our order, fifteen minutes later she tells us its almost done and brings out a salad that was ordered, and then after that she comes back out and says that the computer system glitched and the order didn't get put in the system... but she already told us before that it was almost done, this happened at 2:45, keep in mind it was NOT busy AT ALL. While we were there multiple groups have arrived, got their food and left. The manager came and spoke with us and didn't know how to handle it, all she had to say was sorry. If you are going to work in the food industry, you should probably know how to handle customers. Typically (at a decent restaurant) at this point they would offer to pay for your food and have it made ASAP, this did not happen, also they were understaffed, if you are going to be open for thanksgiving dinner at least be staffed, they had two waiters on the floor the entire time. very very disapointed. read more
