Any restaurant willing to name its bathroom the "Glitter Shitter" has already earned a few points with me. The menu changes often, and they run weekly specials that you probably don't want to miss. My daughter had the Turkish Eggs, while my wife and I both had the Shrimp and Grits. First things first: get the coffee. This isn't the usual restaurant coffee that tastes like somebody waved a coffee bean over a pot of hot water. It's a very nice medium roast with a rich, complex flavor and easily ranks among the best restaurant coffee I've had. And they serve actual full-fat cream. None of that tiny plastic cup of vaguely dairy-adjacent sadness. Yummy. The Turkish Eggs were outstanding. Locally made labneh, harissa, herbs, and spices come together into this ridiculously good sauce, then Chef Charlie parks two perfectly poached eggs on top of it and basically says, "There. Deal with that." He knocks it out of the park. Then there are the Shrimp and Grits. I was born in the South, so I reserve the right to be obnoxiously judgmental about shrimp and grits. There are certain things you simply do not screw around with unless you know what you're doing. Charlie screws around with them. Fortunately, Charlie knows what he's doing. His take on shrimp and grits borders on the sublime. It had appeared as a special several times last year, but apparently enough people kept demanding it that they finally surrendered and put it on the regular menu. Democracy works. The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere is exactly what Martini Brunch should be: relaxed, slightly quirky, and completely lacking in unnecessary pretension. We'll definitely be back again and again, because the menu keeps changing and there's always something new coming out of the kitchen. Come for the brunch. Stay for the coffee. And at some point, whether you need to or not, you really should visit the Glitter Shitter.

The toast was one of my favorite parts of the meal it was perfectly crisp, buttery, and paired beautifully with the eggs. One of the poached eggs was a bit overcooked, but the other was cooked perfectly with a delicious runny yolk. Overall, I really enjoyed my brunch and left feeling happy and satisfied.

The server came around within about five minutes and when we ordered our food, It took about another 20 to 25 minutes. I had time to shop the whole adjacent store, make a purchase and still waited awhile for our food. This is always a period of time that feels like it takes forever because by now you're starving and have looked at all of their sweets in the display case while in the waiting area and smelled all the cinnamon scented candles and the food being prepared in the kitchen. My Linda's brother-in-law scramble was delicious. I opted for the bacon sprinkled. It didn't seem like 4 dollars worth of bacon and there's plenty of flavor in that scramble otherwise. $23.54 with the bacon sprinkles. My hubby had the country biscuits and gravy, and he said it was good. $17.79. My husband did mention that he was disappointed that the country biscuit and gravy didn't automatically come with their breakfast potatoes. You have to choose- eggs OR potatoes. He ordered a side of breakfast potatoes, and it was a small bowl. $6.50. We shared the French toast and took most of that to go as well as some of the hash. $14.99. It was plain. We both had water to drink and had to ask for a refill. That all came up to $68.47 plus tip. The receipt says, "If you pay cash, your total may be rounded per this location's payment policy." I didn't see what that policy says.
