My wife and I were out running around the surrounding areas and stopped at the IHOP in Alice Texas. The place should be closed down, we walked into the restaurant and the first thing we see is a five gallon bucket catching water dripping from one of the AC vents in the ceiling, the ceiling tile was saturated with water and about to fall off the ceiling. You could tell that the ceiling has had its problems with leaks, the ceiling tiles are all stained with water stains, and one or two had black spots showing mold growth.. Here were areas that had food on the floor, that never was swept the whole time we were there, and we were there for at least an hour. The building has got a lot of problems with it's up keep and it shows that the management is not doing anything to rectify the situation inside the restaurant. I seriously can't see going back to this IHOP until things are cleaned up. The food was ok, and service was ok, but nothing to write home about. I'm from Lubbock, and when I saw the menu for the iHop here, I was SHOCKED. There's so many options. I ended up getting the avocado toast with two eggs. I had asked for fruit but got the potato pots when my plate came out, I didn't send it back, but was kind of bummed about it. Our service was wonderful, and food quality was amazing! I do think the toast should come with at least two pieces of bread, but overall a really great experience! Will be back and will definitely recommend read more

As soon as I walked in the door the guy at the register turned and walked the other way. Immediately after I walked in a group of 4 came in and another waiter said they would be right with me then proceeded to help the group behind me. Then about 5 or 6 workers talked amongst themselves while occasionally glancing over at me (I still haven't been helped at this point) when finally someone started walking toward me and I gave them the order name they then made me wait in the lobby for about eight minutes while my app was telling me it was ready the entire time. This IHOP location needs to close for a month for a total makeover from the curb to the back. The ditch out front is full of trash, the bathrooms are beat to heck with chrome fixtures painted over, years of random screw holes in the walls, rust etc. My plate should have been retired years ago as it was worn, scuffed, discolored and gross. Front porch "trashcans" were rusted through. Paint sloshed in random spots. I will think twice before eating at another IHOP. Your booth can clearly look across and see the booth that would've been on the other side of the partition. The people sitting closest to the half wall where partition was are face to face, not of the same family or party, and probably traveling.This is not really a good choice during Covid as nobody sitting with masks on waiting for their food. My wife and I visited the IHOP in Kingsville (2612 S 77th Expy) in 2012. At the time, I believe the location was new. My original review was that the staff was friendly, accommodating and internet availability was a big plus. Fast forward to a Friday afternoon in February 2021. The location looks like it could use a facelift. Our server had no idea what the Wi-Fi password was. When we inquired about an entrée that was on the pre-COVID menu, she advised that it was not available, however, lucky for us, another server overheard the request and said that it was possible. Yes IHOP was open on Christmas Day. Me and my mother were so tired of eating shi**y food on christmas day. Some people think they know what they're doing, even if they really don't and we didn't say thank you either becauses shiz is shiz. So anyway Ihop was open and I got the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. IHOP has a wonderful variety of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Now I have never been to Philly so I really have nothing to compare it to, but I thought it was delicious. We have stopped at this IHOP for several years on our return trip from the valley. Up until today it was a good experience. Quick service, coffee poured as soon as we sat down and food ordered. Not this morning. We were sat quickly, drink orders taken and then we waited. There is less than 20 people in the restaurant. After a good 5 minutes we get a different waitress come take our food order still no coffee, waitress said another person has our coffee. Coffee finally arrives, 2 of the mugs were dirty, one with crusty rim and one with dried coffee all over the outside. Food arrived quickly, bacon was not extra crispy and cold. Been going to this iHop for several years and the service and food keeps falling further and further away from decent. We used to enjoy going to this iHop, but after today I anticipate it will be even longer than it was prior. This was a good local chain for Kingsville, but apparently it's a sign of the times, nobody cares how they treat a customer and nobody cares enough to make an order good, proper, and how it's supposed to be. Calling to tell them how bad their food is, only shows you that their customer service is just as bad, if not worse, as their food has gotten. This place should be better considering it's the only breakfast chain in town (no Denny's or Cracker Barrel), but it is a mess. The entry is a disaster - dirty benches, filthy floors, cracks in the walls, cracks in the host stand, and no one up front to greet you. Plus, the tables and menus are sticky, it takes forever to get your order taken, and even longer to get your food, and even longer to get your check. Then you get to take it up front and wait for someone to come up and cash you out. I really wish this place were at least cleaner.
