Each time I visit I order the same thing, a large fry and a single dish of custard. I usually just add my own toppings to the vanilla custard, however I'll occasionally try the flavor of the day. I appreciate the option to add a variety of toppings as well. This is such a cute little spot with some of the friendliest people in Kingman.

My BLTTA--bacon, lettuce, tomato, turkey, and avocado on a fresh croissant--was delicious, and the fries were just right: crispy outside, fluffy inside. My son declared his AM burger with bacon, hash browns, and eggs (scrambled by request!) one of the best burgers he's ever eaten. Even the Caesar salad stood out for its super-fresh lettuce and delicious dressing. The shake selection is fantastic! Loved my banana shake, served old-school with the extra mixing cup on the side. Their own root beer made an excellent float, too--and we take our root beer seriously! The adorable 45-record menus sealed the retro charm. We missed the gift shop, but we're already plotting a lunch stop on our drive home. Thanks, Chelsea, for making this such a fun mother-son road-trip stop!

I ordered the Beer Battered Atlantic Cod basket with fries, and for $13.99, the cod was not only delicious and crispy, but the fries were just excellent with the fish as well. Not only that, the portions were very large, too. I was super full after that meal! I will absolutely order this again, just thinking about it makes me hungry. Service was top-notch, as usual. There is not a single day where I have came in and it took more than 10 minutes to be seated and have my order taken. Everyone there is so friendly, and it really felt like the service was so good there, they were only serving me. That's just how fast it is. Inside is always great, too. Calico's has a large range of artworks, trinkets, and more. They showcase R66 stuff, too. The inside is never too hot or too cold, and it's all clean and comfortable with a massive space inside. In all, Calico's is not just a little place off the road. It's got excellent food, incredible service, and a welcoming environment. I do recommend for anybody looking for these things. Thank you!

It's about 2 miles off the freeway, but absolutely worth the quick detour. Honestly, I'm burned out on the same old In-N-Out flavor and the overly buttered buns, so this was a great change. I kept it simple and ordered a single burger, fries, and the little drink combo. The burger had really good flavor, the fries came out super hot and crispy, and their fry sauce is hands-down the best I've ever had. Service was fast, prices were reasonable, and the whole place just felt solid. My only note is that the patty was a little thin for my personal taste -- next time I'll order a double. Which just gives me something to look forward to on the next trip through Kingman.
