First time visiting this location. The line was out the door when I arrived. The hostess was friendly and took me right to a table. The waitress was friendly and approachable. The French toast took awhile to make. The toast wasn't dipped in eggs but placed on a folded egg . I could see the kitchen from my table. They had several staff working which doesn't explain the long wait for the food. This will be my first and final visit to IHOP. Horrible service! The order was 25 minutes later than expected, and even worse, my order was incomplete. When I went back to claim the missing items with the receipt, they didn't want to give them to me because they wanted me to bring back the rest of the order. After arguing, they finally gave me the missing items, but it was still incomplete again, as if I were asking for something for free. The dirty looks and the rude way they handled the problem are unforgivable. I will never buy from this establishment. And there were more people with the same incomplete orders as me. This newly built location is bright & upbeat including the fun red uniforms worn. I just stopped in for some pancakes because I love the butter pecan syrup. The pancake deals don't hurt either. The waiter Michael was super fun, energetic & talkative. He made for a fun experience so ask for him if you want a big smile & friendly service. Not as bad as expected. It was a bit worrying when we first entered, and the employee asked if everyone in the lobby was waiting to be seated (which they all were). However, after that, they worked through the log jam quickly and we were seated promptly. The service was fairly good, with Herb and Sanmai really providing great customer service. My wife really liked her meal, but I found mine to be just okay. The southwest scramble meal I ordered was essentially eggs with avocado and dashes of mild sauce, potato wedges, chopped up green onions, and somewhat dried-out toast. All in all, it was all fairly plain-tasting, but for the price, it was understandable. As I recall, my meal was $8.69, and my wife's was $7.99 (plus tax). Sodas and iced teas were $2.59, free refills. In conclusion, this IHOP wasn't the train wreck I was expecting it to be, as per the prior Yelp reviews. To start off you have to sign yourself in because the host can't do it. The service was good, waitress would forget things but was very friendly and sweet. The kitchen staff was backed up apparently because our food took forever to come out. Once the food came out it was at most likely warm. My friend asked for scrambled eggs with cheese and all they did was stick a slice of cheese on top of the already cold eggs. Spoiling our Christmas celebration!!! Absolutely terrible service. After waiting almost 35 minutes for a seat (which is acceptable to an extend) we waited 20 minutes and had no waiter. We had to find a waiter to help us. We gave our full order which was only for 3 adults and 1 child and uncomplicated with breakfast and a burger. After waiting 40 minutes for our food and seeing other tables getting their food before ours. Our poor 18 month old toddler fell asleep with NO FOOD! I had to find our waiter as she had not once checked in with us in the full 40 minutes our food was still not ready. We waited another 8 minutes of which we asked for the manager. (I am not sure the person we spoke to was the actually manager as he come from the kitchen and clearly is the chef) The so called manager only came once we stood up to leave without recieving food and 50 plus minutes after we placed our order. The food came out at the same time. And believe it or not the orders were wrong!!!! My wife and I were thrilled to see the old location go because the service at the Hollister location was not too great. We stopped by on the Monday afternoon of the Memorial Day weekend. On the positive side, the new place has a nice layout and the food was good. As for the negatives, service is still horrible. When we walked in, we had a wait to be seated, while the employee at the register (at the entrance) never acknowledged us. We flagged down a server to seat us. This IHOP was OK. It is the same you are going to get from any other IHOP. The service is friendly, but there are quite a few new people to the business so threy get weeded pretty quick, but we had no problems. We were seated pretty quick, but they probably need the manager/floor supervisor to actually work the front until they get a host/hostess for the busy days. I've never been in an IHOP without that before, unless it is the middle of the afternoon. The doorbell was going off the whole time we were sitting at our table, which is to be expected on a Sunday morning. Have a fluffy omelet, a big fat juicy burger, a hot cup of coffee, or even--you guessed it, clever detective--a big flappin' stack of pancakes. Show up at the right late night shift, and you might even find a mysterious member of the waitstaff who can cure your cat of cancer. You'll know who it is when you see the person in question. You'll have to keep your cancer-kitty in a crate, and get permission to bring it in (probably no further than the lobby), but your feline will leave the restaurant, and leave its cancer behind. HORRIBLE! This was perhaps the worse service I've ever received. There were only two tables at 7:30am and 8 waitstaff and 6 in the kitchen. We arrived about 15 minutes before the other table and they were served first. Some of our food came out and it was cold. Waitress finally came after flagging her down. She offered no solution. We asked for the missing items and she said it was coming. Ten minutes later we went to the kitchen. They were all standing around chatting. Asked to speak to the Manager, Mark (who was working the kitchen). He said it was Christmas and they were short staffed, but they had a total of 2 tables and 14 employees! We called him out on it and sent all the food back. Same thing happened all over again. Mark the "manager" came out again and basically blew us off and said "Merry Christmas".
