I visited this location on a Saturday which this location was pretty packed inside which is a good sign. I came with a party of 5 and was quickly attended and had a place to sit as soon as we got there. Our waitress was the nicest person I met and always made sure we had what we needed. We were staying at one of the hotels around the corner and swung by here for breakfast. It took a while before anyone came by to get our drink orders, we were surprised because it was a Friday around 12:30pm and they were not busy. Well, let's just say that walking from the hotel, I should've stopped at Ruby Tuesday's the parking lot was empty so I said there's no possible way that they can mess up this order. I tried contacting customer service through the website's contact us page, but it keeps going to an error page every time and calling the number provided did not work either. I did not want to write a review here at first, but I have no way of letting them know that this should not happen. I do feel a bit bad for this 1 star, because I thought the staff were pleasant and I did enjoyed the 2 biscuit sandwiches that we ordered. BUT there was mold on the toast that we ordered, it was on a corner so we did almost eat it. We only notice it because my gf wanted to add more butter on it. Unfortunately, I did not keep the receipt, but I do have the picture of the mold on the toast. The timestamp on the picture is 10:40 am today (1/23). I think this should not happen at all. And I would just like staff to be more careful next time to avoid this happening again or to anyone else, as this is a serious food safety issue. I Hopped in for a breakfast for dinner while staying across the street fir the night before a cruise. Having our doubts on the emptiness of the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised. The manager sat us under the requested A/C vent because we were feeling overheated from the lack of cold air from the hotel. Our young server was great as she greeted us and took our order and placed it quickly. Her wonderful personality made the rest of our meal just as nice. It was a slow day which may be the reason for the extra cleanliness and good service. I like to assume that is the case even on packed weekends. This IHOP likely is frequented by the travelers who are looking for a decent sit down and eat place as it sits just outside of a few hotels, across from Jersey Gardens and is only minutes from the airport. I had the Bacon temptation omelets. Never had this particular omelet and it was good. Only problem it was more tomato-y than bacon-y. Was the chef trying to tell me to eat more vegetables? When I went to pay there was no option for a tip on the screen so I gave cash but when I checked my bank statement I saw that the server had put in the tip herself. When asked if the price shown on the screen included the tip she said no. That means not only did she get a $20 cash tip she took it upon herself to put a $20 tip on my card too. We haven't been to an IHOP (or am I supposed to say IHOB?) in years. It's not that we dislike IHOP but the one closest to where we live just isn't very clean, which really put us off. We were recently in NJ and our hotel was a short walk from this one. Thus, we ate there a few times during our stay. The first time was the night we got to our hotel and we decided to order off the breakfast menu. One thing we've discovered about every IHOP we've tried --- breakfast is what they do best. We placed our order and our server pointed out that we could get the 55+ option (smaller portions of the same meal) for less. So that's what we did. Every time we were here, we never had a bad server. They were all very friendly and efficient. In fact, one day we had Manny as our server. We handed him his tip before we paid at the register and as we were leaving, he saw us and shook my husband's hand and thanked him. Weekends here are a zoo. Yet, we both were impressed at how efficiently this IHOP was run. Despite being busy and slammed during weekend breakfast time, the food came out quickly and everything was tasty and properly prepared. One day, an item caught my eye--- vanilla spiced pancakes. So I strayed from the 55+ menu and gave them a try. They were amazing! There was a layer of "vanilla mousse spiced with cinnamon, cardamon, clove and ginger" between each pancake and a dollop of whipped cream on top. I highly recommend this IHOP. I never imagined that I would be giving a chain restaurant five stars, but I need to give this place the recognition that it deserves! I'm staying at a hotel nearby and didn't want to go too far by myself so I saw from Yelp that there was an IHOP or a Ruby Tuesdays. It's so bright and welcoming inside and it's super clean and well put together! It wasn't very busy when I came in and I was seated right away by a manager. My server's name was Manny and his customer service was exceptional. The best customer service I've ever received at an IHOP, the best customer service that I've had in a while actually. I interacted with another server who randomly had a question about my watch and she was really friendly. The staff seem to enjoy their jobs and that really makes a difference in the customer experience. I was pleasantly surprised that the ketchup bottles and syrup bottles were nice and clean!! So many places that I go to, especially other IHOP locations, have dirty and greasy ketchup bottles and sticky syrup bottles. I ordered a chicken and bacon ranch sandwich or something like that. It was very well put together, a neat presentation and it tasted pretty good for chain food! The avocado on the sandwich was really fresh and it was a big portion! Obviously I'm not saying the food was spectacular, but it was pretty good for chain food. Overall, I just think this place deserves five stars.
