Quick and Inexpensive option while at Newark Liberty Airport. I was starving and decided to stop at BurgerFi since after checking other food spots nearby and almost nothing was less than $20. So a cheeseburger for $10 and a double for $13 seemed like a deal. I went with the double and the ordering and pick up process was quick. Although I will say staff did not seem friendly and more robotic than anything else. But nonetheless I got my food quick. The ambiance is nice, they have a bar to sit and enjoy a beer while you wait but I had to catch a flight. The burger was relatively small to what I was expecting. I had to double check to make sure there were two patties and the slice of tomato was paper thin. I still golfed it down as I was super hungry and it was pretty good. My biggest complaint was portion size but maybe because it's suppose to be "quality" beef that's were they jack up thr price or maybe it's because of it being located in the airport. Who knows. BurgerFi was once one of our go-to places for a good craft burger but the one near our home recently closed. As I was leaving NJ post work trip, I was excited to see a location in Newark Airport...I wish I had gone elsewhere. Rolling up to the counter, it took a total of four tries to get my order taken because one of his co-workers kept coming over and messing with him and interrupting/distracting the employee literally mid-sentence. Once I finally got my order placed I made my way and found a table. The wait for my Breakfast Burger w/ Veggie Patty and an order of their Cry+Fry took quite a bit of time...but totally worth it for my order to be made hot and fresh. Wrong. My burger was warm and my customization's were correct but my Cry+Fry was no where near hot and fresh...I would have settled for warm but it was room temp at best and was not good. Most of it went in the trash. Overall the experience was not enjoyable. They do have a full bar and draft beers if that's your thing and also dedicated seating for their location with plugs to charge your devices pre-flight. That's the best thing I can say about my visit to this location. My advice to you: find somewhere, literally anywhere else in EWR to grab a bite or a drink. You'll thank me later. read more

Burgerfi in Newark is really good for vegans and presumably for non. The fries are excellent - big crispy and hot. The veggie burger was awesome - fried with a good crust and served with a soft multigrain bun. There is a bar that was showing the World Cup. Also they have an allergens list online which was super helpful for a child with allergies in our party (not the burger and buns are good for egg, nut and sesame allergies as long as the Fisauce is removed. This would have been five stars if not for the price. For a kids cheeseburger, regular cheeseburger, hot dog and veggie burger and four fries it was $97. That is crazy. That said the food and experience were good and it's an option for vegans and people with allergies. read more

I had been traveling for about 4 hours, decided I would try their burger and fries. The fries were a mix of crispy and smooth. Very nice. The burger had plenty of meat to keep me filled, and didn't upset my stomach on a 6 hour flight. There was even a charger at my table. Their food might just be the future of burgers. Of course, the future comes with problems. Such as the price, like 8 dollars for fries, and talking to the servers sound incoherent even if they are right next to you. Paid $13 for a mediocre bacon cheeseburger, and it wasn't worth it. The burger was smushed and extremely dry -- definitely not what I expected for the price. The fries were decent and at least made fresh and the Parmesan topping and parsley made it edible. My flight was delayed over 3 hours so I was given a meal voucher and tried this spot out. Even with my voucher I still ended paying a few extra dollars because $20 did not cover my burger and fries. Service was good but the food is not worth it. Great service and delicious burger and fries as I wait for my flight. I got the Cajun fries with truffle dipping sauce and the CEO burger. I swapped out the Swiss cheese and got American. The fries had some heat to them and went great with the Truffle dipping sauce. The burger was well made but the bacon jam looked like cubes of ham on top of the burger. Service was ok, but it was really annoying that a server was constantly checking on throw-away items like the to-go bags while couple of cuatomers besides me were eating at the counter. Let me complete eating, dude! It would be useful to gather all trash, and i can throw it in trash can. The lady the order counter hardly responded to questions asked on the burger ingredients, not expecting to be friendly but at least answer the question on confirming ingredients (restricted diet). I'll start with saying that it wasn't BAD. But maybe I should have read the reviews and gone elsewhere. What I paid for a single (junior) cheeseburger and fries with a bottled water is highway robbery. It might have been easier to digest (literally and figuratively) if it weren't average food at an exorbitant price. The food was very fresh--can't complain about that. So, I honestly didn't love this experience. Perhaps because it's inside an airport, I don't know...but this just missed for me. This felt like they wanted to be shake shack and they didn't hit the bullseye. This place is a complete disorganized mess! Stopped in for a small burger and fries before a flight and it's a very good thing I had time to kill, because it took 10 - 15 mins to make each person's (including mine) order. Then when I got my order, the fries were luke warm and the burger wasn't made very well, with hardly any sauce and a extremely small beef patty. Flavor was ok. The staff was very disinterested in providing any level of decent service to the customers as well. Lady next to me asked for hot sauce after getting her order and the lady said it would be $1.10. This could be, quite literally, the WORST burger meal that I've ever experienced. Our flight into Newark was delayed and we got off of the plane at 9:25. We were starving, so when we saw that BurgerFi was open until 10, we decided to go there. They were closing up 20 minutes EARLY (@ 9:40), but they half-heartedly agreed to take our order. Everything in our order was incorrect: the hamburger for my 13-year old had cheese on it, but not the lettuce that he wanted. The fries were 200% overcooked & my wife's veggie burger was absolutely horrible. Needless to say, it took forever for them to cook our food, and they served us at 10:00. Then, as we were sitting down to eat, they had the nerve to tell us that they were closing, and they needed us to leave. This was probably the worst $62 that I've ever spent on 4 hamburgers and fries. So, if you're arriving to EWR late, and you see that BurgerFi is still open, I highly encourage you to keep walking.
