Gluten free bun!!
Alan R.

For an airport food option this is really good. They've got gluten-free buns. Burgers are decent. Milkshakes were really good. Service was quick.

Fries with Parmesan and parsley
Shelby A.

Paid $13 for a mediocre bacon cheeseburger, and it wasn't worth it. The burger was smushed and extremely dry -- definitely not what I expected for the price. The fries were decent and at least made fresh and the Parmesan topping and parsley made it edible. My flight was delayed over 3 hours so I was given a meal voucher and tried this spot out. Even with my voucher I still ended paying a few extra dollars because $20 did not cover my burger and fries. Service was good but the food is not worth it. Definitely a disappointing experience overall.

Overall (B) It's mid Taste (C) It is not a bad burger or a good one just mid Value (C) Around $13 out the door - not a great value and not ripping me off Service (C) Didn't take too long and wasn't fast either. Not mean not friendly - just mid It's the definition of Mid If I had to eat I would get this - if I never eat it again won't be missing anything. Honestly Burger King is better

Cajun fries

Great service and delicious burger and fries as I wait for my flight. I got the Cajun fries with truffle dipping sauce and the CEO burger. I swapped out the Swiss cheese and got American. The fries had some heat to them and went great with the Truffle dipping sauce. The burger was well made but the bacon jam looked like cubes of ham on top of the burger. My items were fresh and the wait time was around 10 no more than 15 minutes. I would go back. My bill was around $23. Service was ok, but it was really annoying that a server was constantly checking on throw-away items like the to-go bags while couple of cuatomers besides me were eating at the counter. Let me complete eating, dude! It would be useful to gather all trash, and i can throw it in trash can. The lady the order counter hardly responded to questions asked on the burger ingredients, not expecting to be friendly but at least answer the question on confirming ingredients (restricted diet). Veggie-Fi burger was good but not spicy as it claims. Fries were good but not economic (pay the airport tax ) Overall, ok experience. I might not recommend it unless you have no options (like me vegetarian).

Cajun fries, lacked flavor

Staff was friendly the line moved fairly fast The Cajun fries lacked flavor, bland The double cheeseburger was actually really good . I would recommend the burger, but not the fries

$15 burger

$15 Burger with onions. Smaller than a McDonald's kids burger with 4 pieces of diced onion.

Went searching for a quick bite before my flight and quickly settled on this one. Ordering was quick and easy. However the size and amount along with the quality was not great. Chicken tenders could have been from my high school and fries while hot and decent tasting was pretty small serving. Probably not worth it unless you're very short on time as there are lot of other options nearby.

So, I honestly didn't love this experience. Perhaps because it's inside an airport, I don't know...but this just missed for me. This felt like they wanted to be shake shack and they didn't hit the bullseye. There was as much lettuce as there was burger, the bun felt old, didn't taste seasoned, the service was slow...I don't want to harp on it but just not great. Add in that it was $17.25 for just a burger and a drink, no fries. I won't be back here. This place is a complete disorganized mess! Stopped in for a small burger and fries before a flight and it's a very good thing I had time to kill, because it took 10 - 15 mins to make each person's (including mine) order. Then when I got my order, the fries were luke warm and the burger wasn't made very well, with hardly any sauce and a extremely small beef patty. Flavor was ok. The staff was very disinterested in providing any level of decent service to the customers as well. Lady next to me asked for hot sauce after getting her order and the lady said it would be $1.10. That's simply ridiculous... if you don't ask the customer what condiments they want when placing the initial order, you better not charge them afterwards. Over priced with poor service - Definitely not returning!

I just came back from India. Been away for 10 days, so you know why I was craving a beef burger. Had more than 4 hours connection time, so was able to walk around for best deal. Never had this, but seemed like basic burger to satisfy my craving. Well, that was a mistake. The beef patties were basic, but it was room temperature. It's obviously just been sitting there for hours before someone put them together for the customer. Quite disappointed as my first hamburger in 10 days. I'm certain any other fast food like McDonald could've been better and cheaper.

$62.06 for FOUR of the all-time worst burgers and 2 fries we have ever eaten.

Tiniest burger-fi patty I've ever seen. Definitely not worth the money I spent. Also they had no fountain drinks.

The spot was super cute. I asked the lady a couple of questions about the desserts and the one I went with is the lime pie. It came to a little under $7 for a small slice. The hosts Ooooed and Awwwed over the size of them & the unique flavors and when we would normally never pay 5$ a piece for chocolate, we thought they looked like a deal given the "size" and unique flavors. [12 pieces for $59.95] What was delivered was a joke! The total weight of the chocolates was approximately 8 ounces. That made them $120 a pound. They were simply packed loosely in a shipping box, so the box of truffles was shook and shaken all the way to our house and they looked terrible by the time they arrived. So an F for shipping. And the size, well as you can see they were nowhere as large as what was presented, as some were not even large enough to fill the space allowed in their packaging! For the most part they were smaller than a Lindor truffle. So another F for actual portion size in relation to what as presented on QVC. Finally the taste.... There was none. We tries 3, and they had NO real taste. I described them as eating Play Dough...just a weird putty texture. And the killer is 2 of the 3 we tried were hollow and you could see the seam where they constructed them. Yes...a BIG FAT "F" for taste!! We tried to return them and QVC didnt even want them back... So we put them where they belonged...in the TRASH. I welcome the owners of this establishment to prove to us what they offer is actually worth $120 a pound....

The regular banana pudding is also really really good. Overall, I also really like the aesthetic of this place, you could totally sit here and enjoy your dessert. Instead of a Francophone ice cream truck driver, in real life this neighborhood hosts Baonanas, a banana pudding shop which serves a wide variety of flavors in the fashion of an ice cream parlor. The two natural orders on a first visit were of course the classic and the ube, both of which were delicious. The ube flavor was subtle and not overpowering at all. And obviously, it's better than Magnolia's.

I placed a cake order a week before my birthday photoshoot and provided a clear reference photo plus detailed instructions to the baker, Elizabeth, over phone and text. I even came in person to pay a $20 deposit because I wasn't comfortable giving my card over the phone. What I requested was simple: A white, heart-shaped cake with pearls, curtain detailing, black bows, and elegant black cursive writing that said "Chapter 30." Unfortunately, what I received looked nothing like what I asked for. * Photo 1: What I asked for * Photo 2: First attempt -- extremely disappointing * Photo 3: Second attempt -- still not what I asked for When I came to pick up the cake, I was visibly disappointed. The tall male supervisor apologized and told me, "I'll see if we can fix it. Please come back in the morning." I explained how inconvenient it was to come three separate times for one cake: once for the deposit, once for pickup, and again because of their poor quality. He assured me that the supervisor, Corrine, would call me the next morning about the revision and compensation for the inconvenience. That call never came. On the morning of my photoshoot, I had to call THEM to find out if the cake had even been fixed. Corrine sent a photo of the revised cake, and it still looked unprofessional. She said I would receive a refund if I remained unhappy -- yet I never received my apology, and I still never received my $20 refund. I'm sharing this review so others are aware. This bakery used to represent quality, but clearly that standard no longer exists. After showing the photos to friends and family, several revealed they've had similar disappointing experiences recently as well. The most embarrassing part? My mother named me after this bakery because of its reputation and legacy in Newark. After this experience, that association feels more embarrassing than meaningful. Calandra's bakery, do better. Your long-time loyal customers deserve far more respect and care than this.

Place gets packed despite the many tables. Service was amazing, food was great (slightly higher prices than others, but the quality execution and quantity balanced it out). We had cornbread (very good), fries (was fine), chicken parm with pasta (we asked for vodka sauce which they accommodated for small charge), fried chicken (must have), churrasco steak breakfast and turkey club. No false notes that we could tell. Some standouts were mashed potatoes (really good), cornbread (toasted and slight sweet, with strawberry butter which was wild), whole wheat bread toasted (it was good I tell you) and fried chicken (it will haunt me in my hungry moments). Didn't think a diner would impact me as much, but they over delivered. Go, but make a reservation unless you want to wait.

READ FULL REVIEW!!!…read more March 2026: First time at this establishment was just ok. Hosted a very small get-together here (5 guest). Atmosphere was nice. Music was wayy too loud to hear the person you're sitting next to. Food was tasty and fresh. Coffee was good with great creamer selection (at the time). Our server was my least favorite part of this experience. He was over the top with his energy and upscale tactics (pushy with getting us to order extra drinks and appetizers despite declining). I was hosting this event and did not need him selling us after already being told "no, thank you" twice. It was awkward and ultimately changed the vibe. He hardly checked on us after that encounter and we constantly had to remind them about request that were never brought out to the table. Staff needs to be trained better. This was just an ok experience. April 2026 : What ultimately lead me to write this review was my 2nd experience at this diner. The server was a lot better than our first experience, but we did run into a few too many problems. First, we ordered coffee and are informed that per managements request, we can only have half-half or cream with our coffee. Previously they had French vanilla creamers and other flavored creamers but I guess management decided to save on the additional cost. This was a bummer especially realizing that they could easily afford creamers. This restaurant easily pulls at least $150,000 per week in revenue, so I didn't understand cheapening out like that. I still ordered the coffee. When it came to the table I added the cream into the cup only to find something floating in the coffee. I send it back and ask for a new cup, which the server politely provided. We order our meals and all goes well. Eventually two of the three meals come out and we wait for the final plate to come out. It's common courtesy to wait for everyone to have their meal before eating, so we wait. We wait about 6-7 minutes and the final plate comes out only for it to be cold. All of us ordered breakfast, so you can imagine trying to eat cold egg, potato, and sausage. We ask for the waiter, but before he could get to us the manager passes by and we let him know the issue. He takes the plate to the back and about two minutes later he comes back with the same exact plate. Before the manager arrived to take the plate away, I saw the guest split the egg half and add black pepper on everything so we knew it was the same plate and food she started eating off of that was reheated onto the kitchen grill where other food is being prepared for guest. The manager informs us that he had the chef heat the food up on the griddle and that it should be a perfect temperature. We refuse to accept the plate because it was reheated and not remade entirely. We were shocked that this was the solution even being offered. Reheating food on the griddle seemed unsafe (contamination risk, diseases, illness, etc) and offensive. No one pays these prices to have reheated breakfast served to them. I could've just made that at home for a fraction of the price. We politely refuse the reheated plate and he apologized and took the plate to the back. The server comes over to see what the issue is and we explain everything. He says that he will look into it and take that meal off the bill. Now I'm frustrated because one out of the three of us aren't eating anything and the experience was off. At this point, I'm not eating my meal but the 3rd guest is eating. So the guest who sent their plate back and myself are waiting for the 3rd guest to finish their pancakes. He ordered a stack of 4-5 chocolate chip pancakes and was happily eating away at layer by layer. Eventually he gets to the last 2 pancakes and before he adds syrup he notices what appeared to be an eyelash or short piece of hair imbedded in the pancake. Picture of the clearly imbedded hair included with this review. He immediately stopped eating and looks sick. He had already eaten 3-4 pancakes by then and the idea that he ate more of whatever that was felt unnerving, to say the least. We both start looking to see what he's looking at and long behold the hair was there. At this point we are extremely frustrated and completely over this experience. Management did not make this experience right even after addressing all of these issues both separately and together. I felt like my money was not valued and my business certainly wasn't. They did nothing to remedy these issues and I will NOT be going back to this establishment. This restaurant may look visually beautiful but the service is not. Staff needs more training, music needs to be turned down, chefs need to wear hairnets and everyone needs to follow safe food handling skills. You're putting your guest and your business at risk ignoring these issues. I really really wish I had a better experience.
