This hot dog specialist food truck has very reasonable prices. I walked by almost daily for a year and finally went for it. I got the OG hot dog with chipotle and sauerkraut for $2.50. There is a cute outdoor seating area with a tent and potted plant decor. It's nicer than it looks; I mean that in the best way possible! It looks kitchsy if you pass by quickly but the decor and outdoor furniture is actually nice and sturdy and the eclectic nature works. The inside of the food truck has vintage photos of celebrities and 50s pinups eating hot dogs. They have lots of interesting sodas and some chips and snacks too. Ok, I know I've reviewed a lot of hot dog places, but I keep finding them and someday I will find the best. I was driving someplace ELSE for lunch today and saw Joey Mac's while driving down Frank E. Rogers Blvd in Harrison...wherever else I was going was gonna have to wait! Pulled right over and jumped out to grab and go. I ordered a Chili/cheese dog, a chili/cooked onions/mustard dog, and a smoked kielbasa with sexy kraut and mustard. Skin-on Sabrett's always make for a delicious dirty water dog and this was the case today. The Chili/cheese dog was excellent...with a very nice tasting chili that isn't too sweet. I don't know what they do to their cooked onions, but my second dog was awesome as well-nice connection between the chili and the other toppings. But the coupe-de-gras was the kielbasa...looked like a regular hot dog but when you bite into it is is smoked heaven! Whatever the hell they put in their sexy kraut (other than the chopped bacon and onions) really is SEXY! SO.FRIGGIN.GOOD!!!! When my co-worker returns from his current trip we will need to stop here again!!! I don't know how long they've been here, but I can't believe I'm the first to review this little gem. read more

Been driving by them for a while and decided to stop last week to see what Joey Mac's is all about since my son lives for a hot dogs. He had the basic hot dog with ketchup. I had the sauerkraut hot dog with cheese. It was good, just wished the hot dog had more flavor. They are cheap and you can get some extra snacks on the side for a dollar. Located on the corner of Jersey Street and Frank E. Rodgers Blvd. For locals it's such an easy place to walk to as it's almost right in the middle of town. Pricing is extremely cheap! $1 for a hotdog with ketchup or basic toppings. Add cheese for an extra fifty cents. Lady assisting me was extremely nice. She took my order and recommended drinks since I didn't mention none. The variety of drinks is pretty long. For $2 I got two hotdogs with ketchup in a brown bag with napkins, hand towelette and a mint. I was totally surprise to see that in my bag when I emptied it out. Nice touch! Great evening pick me up or pre dinner (or dinner!) you couldn't ask for anything more from a dolla dog cart. Tasty fresh hot dogs, even if all you get is mustard and fresh onions! The chili is quite good on top of the dogs as well. Great soda selection, including cream soda and Inca Cola if you like that. Looking forward to trying the hot dog size kielbasa on a Portuguese roll they have sourced from the local Polish meat shop. Wow-a dog truck with natural casing Sabretts, a fresh roll and a long list of "house" (actually truck)-made toppings. The hot dog was a little small but it punches way above its weight at $1.50. Very yummy with that snap you can only get from a natural casing tube steak. At a time that hot dog trucks are either vanishing, dumbing down the food or serving mainly Halal chicken and rice (which I love) it is great to see a place like Joey Mac's maintaining a tradition and doing it with high standards. Stopped here for a quick bite to eat for lunch today. To start things of the lady inside the truck was very friendly and polite! I had two dogs. One with chili and mustard the other with spicy onions and mustard. Both dogs were great. The chili had a nice little kick to it as well as the onions. The dogs had a nice snap to them and I think the buns where steamed. Nice little touch they add is they give you a wet nap and a mint for afterwards to keep you clean and fresh. Nice and welcome addition to the Harrison area. Prices very reasonable. Hot dogs are good quality Sabretts but otherwise not a stand out. The bun is steamed and can get soggy. Toppings are unique and for that would add a half star if Yelp allowed. A favorite are the hot onions and chipotle aioli. Staff always there to greet with a smile.
