I've never been overly interested in going to IHOP, but I have to admit it's good for a hearty breakfast with your friends when you're craving it! I had a spicy omelet and my partner had a chicken biscuit. Both were good and more than enough for breakfast - kept us full well past lunch! Friendly and fast service when I visited this location. read more

My daughter & I wanted to have breakfast this morning. As I parked the car, my daughter walked in and asked for a table for 2 & the young lady informed her that the person that seats customers would return shortly. However, when the woman returned she didnt even acknowledge that we were sitting there, nor did she ask who was first and just seated a woman she seemed to know before us! Smh I really didn't like that so we just left. Please train the staff to ASK QUESTIONS!!! I shouldn't have to yell out "we were here first". Insane. Smh read more

The hostess was lovely and the guy who took me to my table had the manners of a butler and made me feel like royalty. The service was prompt and professional and the food was piping hot and perfectly prepared. I felt like leaving 100% tip but ended up leaving a 50% tip. These people deserve encouragement because they are the best. read more

IHOP - Here is the note I wrote on the back of my receipt and gave to the manager. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Chester, Virginia

Great in all aspects!!! Clean, quick service and delicious fresh food. We went at 11am, during a pretty busy time, but we didn't wait at all to get seated or get our food. Our waitress, Desiree, was absolutely amazing!!! Thank you so much!!! read more

Excellent service, even on busy days! Food is alway hot and made to order, coffee is good too. I will visit again, often.

Nice service fresh food . i had egg it was really good and the waiters were welcoming !!

Shaniqua, who was my waitress on Veterans Day, was outstanding. Food was great. Restaurant was peaceful. I had the big steak omelet with a side of hashbrowns, hot chocolate, Dr. Pepper, and water. Out of all the waitress I've had at Ihop , Shaniqua is by far the best. read more

We put our name on the list, they said the wait would be 5-10 minutes. After about 15 minutes I asked how much longer and they said 15-20 minutes. I was going to wait, but then another person who had also been told to wait longer and was expressing that he didn't like the lack of transparency in the wait time which I agree with. The manager was rude to him and gave a snarky response instead of simply apologizing for the miscommunication. I understood they were understaffed but I can't understand the need to treat a customer the way the manager talked to the other guest. So I ended up leaving. read more

The service was great, delivered right on time. Food quality was ok. But it was IHOP. Pancake was great which is what I was really craving for. The hash browns were not as good as when you go to the restaurant . read more

The overall service was amazing and the food was pretty good! Definitely would go back! The only down fall about everything is there location is so small and they stay packed and there is barely any room. read more

Worth the wait, food was great! Banana Foster was absolutely divine! The caramelized bananas, perfectly coated in that rich, buttery brown sugar sauce, was top notch. read more

I love Ihop pancakes and it can do no wrong in my eyes. When we arrived we parked in the plaza lot and when we walked in the lady told us there was a 20 minute wait. I was shocked because it was in the middle of the day on a Friday. They texted my friend when the table was ready. We were served by a really nice waitress names Kathy. My goddaughter ordered the cupcake pancakes, my friend ordered the short stack and I ordered the short stack with potatoes. The food came out quickly and as usual it was tasty. My friend and goddaughter liked their's as well. The bill for everything was $22. read more

Normally I have a hard time complaining about IHOP but when I went to the one on Bermuda Crossroad Ln in Chester, VA, I ended up getting sick for 48 hrs. The food itself was amazing. It was the drink I ordered that concerned me, as it had never been a problem before. I ordered an apple juice as soda upsets my stomach. After a few swigs, I realized the juice was so old that it was fermenting in the glass and tasted mildly carbonated, which did not bode well for my stomach. We notified our waitress and they swapped out my drink for cranberry juice but nothing else was done. I've been vomitting in the sink and living on my toilet. I'm taking this experience as a sign to avoid eating out for a while. I really hope IHOP works on training their staff better, as I'm worried about all the other customers that could have gotten sick that day. read more

Went for breakfast. Hostess working on call in order thàt had issues. Many tables open. We waited a good 5 minutes or more with one person ahead of us who finally got seated. Waited another 5 minutes after he was seated. Finally hostess comes over and said another 5 minutes ( with empty tables available) she would take our name. I promptly told her not waiting and they definitely need some training. Went to Cracker Barrel immediately seated and had a great meal. read more

Having breakfast at the Bermuda IHOP and they have made some major improvements . The service was excellent. My server was pleasant and checked on me a few times to make sure everything was good. I ordered the Spicy Poblano with steak instead of beef and the omelette was delicious. I had more eggs than steak but it was tasty. I would definitely order that omelette again and just pay for Extra steak Because of COVID restaurant are really stepping up their cleaning procedures. Which they should Have been doing from before. I had time to spare so I was there for a minute. read more

Went to eat for a meeting with my professor. When we arrived at 9:30am the restaurant was basically empty. The hostess SADE sat us right away. I requested that unless it's completely necessary, could she not seat anyone at the table right next to us so that we can stay socially distanced as long as possible. She said, sure. I'll try my best. After about 20 minutes, still basically empty restaurant, another hostess seats someone at the table right beside us. A few moments later, SADE comes and asks the newly sat customer if she doesn't mind moving down one table because we requested to be socially distanced. The customer gets up and goes to complain to the manager - LISA HAYES. The manager begins to chastise the hostess in front of everyone!!!! I see this all happening and I ask to speak to the manager to explain our request and that the hostess was just trying to help us as paying customers. The manager begins to explain to me that if a customer requests to sit at a table, they have to honor that request. I asked her how do you decide which request supersedes another? If I'm a paying customer and they are too, honor both or honor none, right? There are a lot of empty seats in the restaurant including the booth right next to them. The general manager then comes out - EDWARD GILBERT and says they don't honor social distancing because everything is open now - we are in recovery. But, he said, I will have LISA apologize to SADE for how she handled the situation. She should have taken her to the back and talked to her, he said. Overall - disappointed with LISA - she needs training Had a great server - KORI!!!! read more

Horrible service. Was mocked for asking for gravy. Must have 85 characters even to say anything ugh!

I haven't been back here in two years and here's why that will be the same case again. Short wait upon arrival. We're seated and then the wait begins. 15 minutes before we were even spoken to! My wife says to my son, "Daddy's deciding if we're leaving or not". She was right! But the server showed up. He was busy so we gave him the benefit of the doubt. Drinks came out quick and we placed our orders since we hand so much time to prepare.... 40 minute wait on the food! Food was meh... got my order wrong. Missing components.... Server was friendly. Food is always delicious. Wait gets a little long but it's worth the wait. Always friendly and clean

I absolutely love IHOP food, however this particular IHOP has put a very sour taste in my mouth. I found a grey hair on my 2 egg plate that I had ordered. I told my waitress. She took the plate and was gone maybe 1- 2 minutes, with "new" eggs for me. (Mind you, how in the world did my new eggs get cooked over well in 1-2 minutes?) When I asked to speak to a manager, the manager was beyond rude and insinuated that maybe it was my hair on my food and not someone in the restaurant's hair. Mind you, I have dark hair. (I just wanted new eggs cooked) I finally got new eggs cooked. A few minutes later, I saw an employee come in. Within a minute of her being there, she was talking very loudly about another waitress' vibrator and how which vibrator was better (handheld or suction cup) She was like of yeah the suction up one is the best in the shower for backing your butt up on it. (Honestly, I am not a prude, but no one wants to hear about that when they are eating.. gross) Then right before I left, the manager was pointing at my family and me while talking to another staff member from the hostess podium. So needless to say, I will never go back there. There staff is ridiculous and do not care about their customers at all. They are so rude. Don't bother going there. Go somewhere else if you are looking for good food and good staff. read more

Always is so good to Have their pancakes. Good service and clean. Is well-priced. They have curbside pick up.

Pancakes are great for breakfast lunch and dinner! The staff is usually friendly and will accommodate even the most worrisome of patrons (I have witnessed some folks that I just smh to). Really good hot chocolate in the winter too! read more

I ordered the original buttermilk pancake stack. I got a coupon for a free stack for my birthday so that was nice. The pancakes were good, but I found mold in one of my pancakes, which makes me think the pancakes sit and aren't freshly prepared. It's times like these where I realise big chains don't really, truly care about the food they serve you. For me, it's not about the pancakes, it's about employees that have decided they don't care about the people paying their salary. I know they're essential, and I understand that, but I've never experienced this with small businesses. If you want better pancakes go to Moore Street Café. I have a review on there, too. read more

IHOP on a Thursday night for the WIN. First of all they sell breakfast 24 hours a day so I wasnt expecting genius level experiences here. My husband and I were craving pancakes and decided to visit. We were greeted pretty soon after we walked in and serviced immediately by our waitress. As we waited the thing that warmed my heart about this visit was the familiarity of the local crowd. All of the servers had such personal connections with the few people there tonight. From singing with the music to asking about grandchildren it felt a lot like going home. Our food arrived HOT, beautiful, and yummy. For us this was a great visit but also we understand... its IHOP. read more

They made me uncooked pancakes. Then took them back, and gave me more uncooked pancakes. The waitress was nice, the manager did a decent job. That was the sugar coated version, real talk with his girlfriend: I'm triggered. Waitress was nice but slow as hell and left his coffee unfilled and got my order wrong then went MIA for a bit. Boyfriend ordered cheesecake pancakes and they were entirely uncooked and raw. I got the manager and we reordered them and they were still completely uncooked. He left with no appetite after eating bites of raw pancake batter. I ordered an omelette and it was crusty and skimpy on all toppings and they didn't get my order correct. I went and asked the manager because our waitress was MIA and asked for tomatoes and they were soggy and looked like they had been sitting out all night. Do not come here if you want food or are hungry. You will leave with no appetite, but not in a good way. Do yourself a favor and drive any extra miles needed to a different iHop. Your welcome. read more

Picked up a to-go order, only to get home and find black hairs woven throughout both orders of hashbrowns. We arrived on a crowded, rainy Saturday morning. We were told there would be an approximately 30 minute wait. We were eventually shown to our seat by a courteous friendly "seater". I came in when it was damn near empty. And still had a long wait for my food. Also, no one was up front so I had to wait to be seated. A couple who came in like 10 minutes after me, who ordered a heavy meal got their order before me and all I ordered was 2 pancakes with sausages and a Silver 5 for my son. The waitress was shitty not once did she come to give an update about the food wait or anything. She's on her phone, talking to coworkers, taking other ppl orders. read more

2 Oct 2022 IHOP Chester VA may want to consider training their hostess Marta. She seem to be impatient & impartial with Black patrons. She sat 3 Spanish speaking customers before she seated us even though we (Black) were obviously ahead of them. I saw her be impatient with a black elderly woman who wasn't walking fast enough, Marta was beckoning her hand for the woman to walk faster. Shame on you. I gave 3 stars because our waitress Malissa (Hispanic) was the complete opposite. She was quite pleasant & polite. read more

A hair cooked into my pancake!! I pulled it out of my pancake while eating it! Disgusted and unhappy with the time it took to even receive my order, it was delayed about 30 minutes for a pickup order. This location has great food but I'm not entirely sure the dishes are washed correctly. Cutlery was dirty to the point where we were offered plastic cutlery instead. The plastic cutlery was thin and weak and did not allow for eating something as simple as a pancake. My coffee mug had a dead bug on the inside as well. Aside from the above, the food and customer service was great! read more

Waited at Cracker Barrel for over an hour after being lied to about when we would be seated so I called IHOP and asked what their wait time was. I was told it was 5-10 minutes so we left Cracker Barrel and went straight to IHOP. It was a 2 minute drive. Got to IHOP and put on the wait list. Waited 30 minutes. Asked the manager when we would be sat and he just walked away from me. Never wasting my time here again. After a horrid experience with the breakfast restaurants in Chester and wasting 2 hours trying to be sat, we decided on El Patron for lunch. They were great!!! read more

Every Tuesday same waiter good breakfast service managers and wait staff good breakfast

I eat out most every morning. This week my job places me in the Chester area for breakfast. How lucky I am that this IHOP has Brie as a waitress. On my first day she greeted me with a smile and almost immediately I had my beverages in hand. Before I can hardly add my creamer and sweetener I had my delicious breakfast on my table. I'm not kidding. I had eaten my meal within 15 minutes of walking in. I thought this must've been a fluke so I came in for my second day and immediately Brie asked if I needed a menu or was I getting the same from yesterday, which she recited to perfection! I eat at IHOP a lot but the staff and the food at this location is the best of all I've eaten at. Chester, y'all are lucky! read more
