The most accurate Lyme Disease Testing lab in the world. Pricey but worth getting your life back from Lyme and co-infections. Service has been responsive and questions get answered. The standard lab lyme tests I previously had done is worthless and out of touch with current research - The CDC estimates that only 1 in 10 cases of Lyme related infections are diagnosed and reported, with annual estimates of 300,000 infections in the U.S. (and an average of only 30,000 diagnosed and reported). This means 270,000 people are infected every year and won't know they have it! Original research indicates that the mid-Atlantic and north east are where lyme is most prevalent, however, the CDC studies indicate that this may not be only a regional issue - those areas are where lyme was first discovered (Lyme, CT), and lyme diagnosis from areas such as upper mid-west, Texas, and the west coast are now rapidly growing. My doc sent me to this lab for specialty testing, and I know others who have used them too -- and my experiences and those I have heard from people I know are completely opposite of these two reviews. The IgeneX staff was kindly and helpful and not at all as described above. Maybe there is a bad apple in the employee barrel, but I sure didn't encounter him/her. Maybe they are getting really busy too, since they are, as the poster above said, unique in the tests they offer in a very complicated disease area: tickborne disease. My experience was terrific, both on the phone and in person -- so if anyone else has a bad encounter, I suggest you write a letter to the president of this (very small) company and complain as specifically as possible (date and time, if you don't get the bad apple's name). IGENEX testing is the only reliable testing in the world as far as I and hundreds of Lyme patients who flock to them from other countries are concerned. They have excellent testing equipment that can blow up the cells to see the problems. I don't believe there is any other place in the world that is that qualified. Many places will tell you you are negative even though you have received some positive results and are dying from a hundred different diseases highly attributed to Lyme and its coinfections and have a hundred percent probability of having caught Lyme due to background. Unfortunately, a lot of companies are jealous of IGENEX and would like to shut them down because they know they can't compete. I tested positive in Eliza tests twice in Canada but negative in their Western blots. I tested positive on an IGENEX Western blot. Still the Canadian government refuses to accept that because they go by the conditions set out by a Lyme panel which happened to have members on that committee that appeared to have dubious interests from what I have seen on the Internet. How many "patients" were on that panel? Was it balanced? Were IGENEX representatives on that panel and were they allowed ample time for representation? Government panels are rarely balanced and are often set up, as most of you who were once forced to drink fluoride, the most toxic poison on earth, will know. Nothing was more set up and corrupt than those panels. Instead of treating Lyme, governments prefer to pay out tens of thousands of dollars in the medical conditions that develop from NOT treating it. Does this make sense? They claim that because IGENEX detects too many people as being positive, their results can't be totally trusted. They likely would've said the same thing about the person who invented the first microscope. How can you detect something that isn't there? And how did the Canadian Eliza tests twice also detect types of Borellia that Canadians claim isn't there? I wish one of these governments could prove IGENEX is a liar, but they can't. They simply keep this war going so they can choose who will live and who will die. They use it as an excuse for eugenics. There is no reason to deny that a patient has Lyme when they have hundreds of deadly Lyme symptoms and have tested positive on three tests. Furthermore, the Canadian government hides the breakdown of the band results from Western blot tests. Neither patients nor doctors can see them. Why would they have a need to hide them when IGENEX honestly displays them? It says right in their own CANADIAN PUBLIC HEALTH LABORATORY NETWORK GUIDELINES on page 147, 4.b that banding patterns seen on the western blots should not be reported. Why are they hiding them and forbidding anyone to see them? IGENEX doesn't hide theirs! It's a pity that it's so expensive to get IGENEX testing done though Canada. IGENEX rates aren't that bad, but by the time you pay people in your own country for testing, the costs go through the roof and are more than double what IGENEX charges. Actually they can be five times as much because you have to talk to naturalists first. Why must Canadians pay so much money? Why can their own labs not take the tests and send them off for them at lower cost? When Canada refuses to acknowledge Lyme when there is so much overwhelming evidence that its there, the least they could do is allow people to deduct the costs of these tests from income tax as medical expenses. One person here has stated that IGENEX didn't jump immediately to her requests. Keep in mind that this company services Lyme patients all around the world because of their trusted reputation. They can't jump to urgent requests because literally every case in the world is urgent to the patient. I myself found IGENEX polite and wonderful to deal with. If you want to know more about Lyme, go to You Tube and look up "Lyme Disease 101". It's highly likely that thousands of Canadians are dying from this disease mainly because they don't trust accuracy. If you go to You Tube you will also see that many many babies are also being born who have bad spasms right from birth. Wouldn't be surprised if many of them inherited Lyme from their parents through the blood. Since Lyme and pituitary tumours are among the fastest growing diseases in the world today, and Lyme is particularly infectious, and both are extremely deadly if neglected and allowed to continue developing, I find it odd that Canadian doctors don't learn a thing about either of these two diseases in medical schools. Many Canadian doctors can't even spell Lyme. They still spell it LIME, and most would never know the extremely important difference between Borellia, Burgdorferi, and Babesia. Why are these doctors kept so uneducated? Not knowing could kill their patients! If there were 10 stars here, I would give IGENEX a 10 for being as advanced as the first person who invented the microscope! read more

I remember the first couple times i tried calling they didn't answer or return voicemails for awhile but not a big deal i eventually got thru. I know how busy and important they're work is here. IGeneX lab is one of the very few labs that will do testing for Chronic Lyme disease, and its co-infections. They do the CD57 and PCR along with other tests that most places can't or will not test for. They do a Urine Lyme test as well. This is the ONLY reason I gave them 2 stars is because of this rare testing, and they help many people get the answers they have been searching for with Chronic debilitating Lyme Disease. BUT they have to have some of the worst service I have ever experienced. The lady I spoke to last week was rude as ever. She messed up and sent me a "test packet" which she did not inform me I could have printed online to get done immediately. I had informed her that time was of the essence and that it needed to be done immediately. She further did not send me the urine test packet, despite me asking for it. She never informed me that there even WAS a separate packet for it. This was of course because she was just trying to get me off the phone. She had no care what I was saying and overlooked very important details that could mean I will not get accurate test results, despite spending hundreds on this testing. So a week later when I get my packets which contain the same blood sample bottles my lab has, I was already ticked off, but when I realized there is no urine test option to mark, I got a little concerned and called them. The lady I spoke to again was very rude, and pushed me off the phone. When I called her out on it, her voice got all sweet acting like she wasn't being rude, which the obvious change was like night and day. She said that I never asked for the urine packet (which I absolutely did, its one of 2 tests I needed). Time was of the essence with this and now that Ive been on antibiotics for 2 weeks, this is probably gonna be a waste of time and money. So I sent them for overnight. I called my bank and they said I had $30 for the card and the lady told me it would be $20+ for shipping but couldn't give an exact amount. I come to find out that this is $100 fee to send to California overnight. My card won't go through, and I called them very early today to correct this issue. Give a new card or have them send out regular mail asap so I can get it here in So. Cal. BUT they don't call me back for 4 hours, despite me explaining it was urgent matter. By the time they called me back, it was too late to ship in today's mail, so this will be another week before it comes in the mail again for the urine samples. I am so upset that I could have done the blood tests weeks ago and send them in, and that they overlooked the urine packet because the lady couldn't stop to listen to me for one second. She just wanted me off the phone. The man in the shipping department was MUCH nicer, and he also genuinely wanted to help me. He still couldn't ship regular FedEx for some reason and instructed that the only option is overnight, or a week in regular mail. Seems strange since FedEx will be coming to pickup anyway... anyway he told me about being able to print the forms online and do the tests right away. I was so upset no one shared this information with me before. I could have had it 2 Monday's ago and my results would have only been from a day or two on antibiotics. The girls there are unhelpful and seem to withhold important information because they are rushed. This is a serious health concern and time is of the essence for people needing these tests. The rudeness and pushiness and lack of communication is just horrendous. Its unfortunate that they are the only lab or one of the only labs around in the US that does this. What a mess and I think they know they are one of the few so they don't need to care or work on customer service... I would say use them with caution, or make sure you speak up and read as much as you can from other people beforehand, because their screw ups may have cost me a lot... they may have cost me a official diagnosis, which is too heartbreaking to speak of.. no diagnosis means no treatment, and no treatment means no getting better!
