Hi everyone, I made a yelp account just to report this scam of a business because I hope no one else gets scammed like I did. Long story short the HDMI port for my Ps5 broke I sent it to the shop to get it fixed for $100 and then my ps5 began to overheat, I took it again and they charged me $40, the problem was not fixed after they returned my ps5 so I sent it back and after i received it back the overheating was gone but the HDMI port did not work again so I took it back and they tried to charge me $120 (a similar issue happened with another person while I was in the store once with some guy and his phone). End of story I left with more problems then solutions and my original problem wasn't even fixed. DO NOT COME HERE!! GO TO SOME OTHER HARDWARE STORE THAT ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT FIXING YOUR TECHNOLOGY!!! I have been going to these guys for a few years now for different needs. I brought my laptop in for a routine cleaning and to add a fresh dab of thermal paste as I lacked the time to do this myself, plus doing this with some laptops VS desktops can be two wildly different experiences. 40$ they charged me! Not bad at all. Yesterday (03/20/2023) I brought in a laptop I bought "Referbished" 6 months prior and the night before discovered the one of the m.2 screw where completely stripped. I took one look at it and "noped" out of that situation. I took it in to see if they could get it out and they did. 20$, PLUS they let me sit around and try to find a replacement screw so I could use it to slot in an extra SSD card. These guys know that if you are bringing in a device to get it fixed, you're too broke to go out and get a new one, something many phone companies WANT you to do instead of getting it fixed. If they DO charge you a price you deem "too expensive" please keep in mind it is not them, its the company(ies) like APPLE that lock down their own parts making it very hard to get 3rd party replacements or making their phones so expensive to fix that you might as well get a new one. This is by design and its not this stores fault. They will OUTRIGHT tell you that you would be better off just getting a new device if that is the situation. Support your local Mom & Pop shops, stay way from the corporate big boxed geek squads and the genius bars and support local Right To Repair. read more

Please don't even think of going there. My phone volume control was broken. I gave them and they said they needed to order parts. Then when I took the phone back I cannot call. Somehow text message were working. I took it back same day and they refused to fix it. They said it's not their fault. I gave the phone to them around 10 30 am. I showed them I have made calls whole day that day upto 10 am. Now I need to take the phone to another repair shop to see why it's not able to make calls. Also I heard the owner said to receptionist to delete the bill in the computer. When I requested my money back they gave my money back. But now they did a bigger damage. I cannot say enough good things about Rahman and iFIX NYC. I was visiting a friend in the area and my MacBook stopped holding a charge. Overall advice: If you use these guys for repairs, come with your own parts. Took a phone in for a basic battery replacement. They said they had to order it. OK, no problem. I come back 1 week later. They install the battery. But then I notice phone shuts off when the battery reads at 80%, then when I turn it back on it says battery 0%. I figure maybe it's calibration issue, so wait a few days. Problem gets worse. Phone won't even turn on anymore, battery won't accept a charge. I bring it back in, they say they will replace the battery again at no extra charge, but to wait another week. So I have no phone for another week waiting for the new battery. One week passes. I get a call that the battery came in, so I come in. I am kept waiting in the shop over 35 minutes. They can't find the battery they say, come in tomorrow since the guy who is there tomorrow should know where it is. I come back the next day. Battery is the WRONG BATTERY. Woops. They said wait another week for another battery. So now I am on 2 weeks of no phone, just because I needed a simple battery replacement. I go back one week later. They install the new new battery. I get halfway home and realize the phone is showing NO SIM CARD. So I walk back, they are like "woops" and put SIM card back in. I use this second battery for a few days. All the battery health apps say this battery is at 50 percent health, as in it is badly damaged or used. So then I ordered MY OWN BATTERY MYSELF from ifixit, took it to a different shop, and they installed it for me in literally 10 minutes. This new battery is showing 100% health. So basically, avoid these guys, they order their parts from crap places and install crap used and bad batteries in your phone. They also take 10 times as long as other shops do do basic work. I did use them once before to install a new sound chip on my phone, but I brought my own parts that time. At least they didn't charge me for the extra work, and were polite throughout, but yikes. I woke up this morning to a phone that wouldn't turn on. It was a pretty inexpensive phone so I assumed the worst and that after 2 years the battery was maybe shot, or the thing just crapped out to get me to by a new phone (it's all a conspiracy by Big Phone-a!). When I arrived at iFIX I was greeted immediately and was all finished up in about 3 minutes. Turns out I was being an idiot and just needed to take the battery out and put it back in. I was very kindly not charged for this, even after I offered to pay for the service. When my phone inevitably does decide to give up on me in a more complicated way I'll definitely head back here! read more

Excellent Place. All of the guys that worked there were very helpful and friendly. Prices were clear and when the initial screen replacement had an issue they swapped it for a new one with no hassle. For some reason I've always been skeptical about going to any of these places that fix broken screens, but I am really pleased I was in dire straits and didn't have time to have to wait hours at an apple store to get my shattered screen replaced. I came in at noon on a Tuesday to replace my iphone 6 screen and was on my way within 30 minutes. The sensitivity of the glass does seem very slightly off, and there appears to be a very minor scratch towards the top of the screen, so maybe it's not an absolutely flawless replacement, but given the convenience of the location, the price, and the quick and friendly service, I won't hesitate next time to drop by here to fix my screen (which is more than likely to be shattered again). Customer service is horrible. Had a problem with my phone. Had to call them to find out what was going on. I called one time the guy to me to hold and just put down the phone for 20 minutes! My phone had a difficult problem. And the guy working on it got new software for it. Now the phone doesn't even come on! They had it for a month and it was worst when I got it back.. Skip this place unless you have not other options: Patronizing service, both when I brought my broken MacBook in and when I complained about a problem when I picked it up. Despite saying repair would take 24 to 48 hours, it took nine days to complete while my business suffered. Don't know if the price was reasonable or not because I have nothing with which to compare.
