I came to Iekei Ramen & Sushi on a weekday evening. I was hungry while shopping at Walmart in Humble. I ordered Avocado Salad and Garlic Black Bean Ramen. The salad seemed simple but it had refreshing taste from the crispy lettuce and mellow avocado slices. The ramen had a very pleasant presentation and looked appetizing. I could tell the noodles were made fresh. The soup was pork based. The charsiu was a little tough for me. I finished entire bowl of soup and noodles. The location is perfect. I realllllllly like this spot! The service is straight to the point (in a good way) yet quick and friendly. The ambiance is nice and casual with a nice clean interior with some cool decorations scattered throughout the restaurant. They also have a big table in the center of the restaurant for parties or just more seating. Onto the food! I love their ramen and I get their tonkotsu with extra egg always. It is very very tasty overall. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because sometimes the pork chasu has been a bit chewy/stringy, but most recently it was perfect for me. I do prefer my broth a bit thicker/richer but it is still very good. I LOVE their Brussel sprouts and get them everytime I go. I'd like to say I'll try some other things next time I go, but I feel I can't go wrong with my go to Tonkotsu ramen + extra egg and brussel sprouts. read more

Me being new there I needed help with the menu and had to flag someone down I was told by two people that they were busy and which was odd because instead of them helping me, they shoe'd me away. Small sushi bar. This is a smaller building compared to your average Japanese spots. It can get wall to wall on busier hours. Front entrance is tight, almost like one man in, and out. Entrance sits near the register front. Had the Shaggy Dog Sushi, my usual. I give them credit, with that spicy but sweet sauce they add on it. Think its Spicy Mayo. Lol. They also have Ramen, but wasn't into Ramen tonight. But wish they had Hibachi to-go. The closest they had was fried rice, with your choice of protein, which I ordered shrimp fried rice. Fried rice not the best around, but better than Panda. Just saying, don't need soy sauce added. No beef here at all though, only pork, shrimp, and chicken, not even steak. But okayyyy. I was skeptical bcoz we don't have too many good restaurants in Humble Finally decided to meet up with a friend and was surprised that's it not bad at all. We ordered quite a few sushi rolls on the menu that cost like $6-$$10 but it ended up not cheap The 2 of us ended up paying $100. Either we ate too much or the prices aren't cheap as we thought. We have passed this place in several occasions and relieved we have to stop in. First, the ambience was a nice trendy setting reminds you of some of those places you see on TV as far as a ramen shop or not back at sushi shop service was excellent wasn't very crowded. We had about two people waiting on us starting off with the takoyaki I have to admit I really like takoyaki there's was excellent your sauce paired with the mayo was excellent and the movable flakes made it almost like you were sit in a coffee shop in Japan, I also had the colorful sushi dish that you see excellent with real caviar on top, each taste bursting with wasabi and fresh ginger on the side excellent pairing recommend this place for anybody and the price is very economical! read more

One of the better spots I've visited for ramen. The place has plenty of parking. It is right by Walmart and only about 10-15 minutes from the airport. I went here to meet a friend right before my flight and I was not disappointed. The only reason I put the stars down a bit is that the chicken I got was too hard and cold. Maybe it had been sitting out for a while. But the ramen is what I went for and that was very tasty. We also got hot sake which was a great addition to our little meal. The waiter was attentive and nice, the bathrooms were clean. The over all ambience was a cute place to take good pictures. I came here for lunch with my friend. Nice atmosphere and a great menu. We ordered a couple of appetizers and I had a lunch special, it came with three rolls with a soup or salad. I chose miso soup. The miso soup was extremely salty. The soy sauce was also very salty. I know soy sauce is packed with sodium, but I have never had soy sauce this salty in my life, and sushi is one of my favorite foods! It's like the soy sauce was concentrated or something. The rolls were good, this wasn't the best sushi by any means. The California roll also had a crab stick, which let me know it was imitation crab, the menu did not specify whether it was imitation crab or not, if I remember correctly. I am bit from the Humble area so I more than likely won't go again, if I lived closer, maybe there would be a possibility of me going again to give them another shot. read more

I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. When the waitress asked if I wanted it regular or spicy, I opted for spicy on the side. The regular was on the bland side. I added two heaping scoops of the paste that was served on the side and it was delicious with the right amount of heat for me. The broth was flavorful once the spice was added and the pork was tender and tasty. I would order this again. My friend opted for gyoza, Philadelphia roll, and a bottle of warm saki. I usually frequent jinya and I can say that this place is nicer on your pocket especially in these times. The quantity and quality of food is good too. I had today the spicy seafood ramen... it is spicy if you don't love that steer from it or ask for spice on side. I had the seaweed salad also which is always a favorite and that was yummy too. The Tonkotsu was good but maybe less flavorful than that I've had at the before mentioned. Every place is it's own unique self and for a local spot I would definitely frequent it. I've driven by this restaurant many times and work fairly close but never came in. However, on a return visit from a client site one day, I was with a colleague and I recommended we stop in to try it. I'm glad we did, as it turns out its pretty good. We only had sushi on a cold day, but both left satisfied. They have a small lunch menu at the very back of the regular menu, which mainly includes sushi and rolls. The tonkatsu ramen looked good, and some of their specialty rolls sounded good and include like 5 or 6 different fish in the roll, which I have never seen before. Not sure if that's a good or bad idea. I ended up ordering the "choose 3 rolls" lunch special for 13.95. I picked nemo, jalapeño and spicy salmon. All 3 rolls had 6 pieces and really hit the spot with the fish inside seeming pretty fresh. My colleague ordered a similar special and he also enjoyed his rolls. I definitely want to come back sometime to try their ramen, as they have counter seating in front of the ramen prep area, and sushi bar seating as well. read more

The restaurant is small, unkempt. Booths are old and cracked. But hey who cares, as long as the food is delicious , I could sit on the floor. Well fried calamari was so fried that calamaris were nowhere to be found. And then came the Korean spicy miso soup.... Ughhh tasteless, like white warm water. Made another visit to this hidden gem. When I've come in the past, it was never extremely busy. This evening it was packed, but the service was still top tier. Didn't have to wait any longer than before for food or beverages. The spicy miso ramen is always a hit. It is SPICY but so good! I think my favorite part (also what makes it unique) is the peppery flavor. It's delicious. The shaggy dog roll is also always a must order. The gyoza are always HOT and never too soft or too crunchy. The staff are so nice. Even thought it was pretty busy, they provided service with a smile and always refilled our beverages before they were empty. I'll continue to come here many many times in the future. read more

Before I start talking about the food, I want to mention that the service was great. The entire staff was friendly and prompt with all our needs. They periodically checked on our table and made sure we were well catered to. This is a decent place for a quick ramen fix (or Sushi), especially if you don't feel like driving all the way to Jinya or Ramen Tatsuya (but don't expect the same quality). In fact, this may be the only Ramen place area the area (one true sign that the North East side is finally on the map haha). I ordered the Ramen Tonkotsu for $10 before tax. The bowl arrived steaming hot and had an appetizing presentation. The broth was quite flavorful but unfortunately lacked depth. It actually seemed a bit translucent compared to other Ramen places. The noodles were thinner than what I expected but still went great with the broth. The boiled egg though, was a disappointment because it was hard boiled opposed to soft boil (such as traditional style Ajitsuke Tamago). Normally the eggs are soft boiled to add a nice (almost jam-like) texture with the soup and noodle. I wouldn't order it again but I was glad to try. Overall, not bad place for Ramen but they don't compare to other Ramen shops in Midtown, SW, or Katy area. It's a start, and I expect them to grow and improve one day. I have also yet to try their sushi (and fried chicken which I heard was good) as well so I'm sure I'll eventually make my way back one day. For now, I would say it's a decent place to stop for a casual work lunch or dinner - just don't expect top notch. read more

I have been here twice! The best thing I've gotten was this jalapeño popper type roll off the appetizer menu. Sooooo good. Their crab type spring rolls are great too! I thought the calamari had some yummy sweet and sour sauce but not a fan of the radio or batter to meat. Felt like there could be more meat. The pork belly and Thicker ramen type noodle is super yummy! I did really like the batter on the fried chicken but again feel like I got way more crunchy batter than meat. Wouldn't recommend getting two crunchy fried things back to back. Your palette will be dry by the end. Strawberry Ramune hit the spot. If they're busy, wait times might be extra long for food.
