Attar immediate stood out as both responsive and knowledgeable regarding our various needs. We recently completed a repair in our home and I am happy to say that our experience was very positive. From the initial quote, scheduling the work, and follow up Attar has been attentive through the whole process. The work was completed to budget and on time. Additionally, we had some questions a few days after our work was completed and Attar responded immediately. This is especially telling about their company ethics. Many services will have delayed response times or require chasing after payment has been made against a project. I definitely recommend Attar and Pacific West Homes & Renovations for your home improvements needs.

He wrote a time and materials contract, but we told…read morehim we had a pretty tight budget for our tub remodel and he said he thought we could do the work within the dollar amount we gave him. He was very slow and ran us way over budget (he essentially billed us 89.00 per hour to put in tile, and he seriously billed us for 48 hours of tile work to put in 45 pieces of 12x24 tile). When we would ask for estimates to finish, he gave an estimate, and then took twice as long as his estimate. When we confronted him, he literally said, it's time and materials, it is what it is. We finally had him stop work when he was close to 50% over our original estimate (and he STILL wasn't finished). The final quality of work was so bad, we had to hire a new contractor and have all the tile torn out and start over. Be careful!

Update: The quality of the work done at my house by Marin VIP Builders is even worse than I…read moreoriginally thought! Only several months after they installed the bathtub, the caulking they used around the tub cracked and disintegrated. And, I learned today from a plumber that the bathtub itself was not put in properly-- they did not use a mortar bed! This is one of many examples of the corner cutting and sloppy work from Marin VIP Builders. I waited too long to file a complaint with the Oregon CCB. My advice: look elsewhere for your contractor.

We hired Isaac and team to replace our kitchen counter tops, install tile back splash, and install…read morenew kitchen sink/faucet. We have a smaller kitchen (about 25 sq ft of counter top space). Photos show before on the left (or top), and after on the right (or bottom). The work was completed March 2024. Isaac was honest, straight forward, patient, and quick to respond to questions or concerns. His recommendations (e.g., 3cm thick quartz counter top), though expensive, were high-quality and ultimately a decision we do not regret. The sub-contractors were respectful and took their time, and did excellent work. Some additional details: For insurance purposes, we wanted the invoice of the kitchen counter tops. After several requests, Isaac was able to get this to us. We suspect the delay on this was due to the subcontractor: The invoice was issued by the vendor (Architectural Surfaces), addressed to the counter-top subcontractor, and had to be obtained from the subcontractor. Isaac was very professional, patiently replying to our several requests, and ultimately delivered the invoice. The project start date was delayed about 2-3 days due to cutting/delivery of the counter tops, but Isaac was quick to let us know this and quick to reschedule the start date. The counter tops and sink were installed in about 1-2 days, and the tile back splash and detail work took about 2 more days. I believe the work started on a Thursday and was completed by Sunday. Delays like these may not work for some people, but they were not a problem for us; it was very convenient that Isaac's team could come in on the weekend to complete the work. We did not get other bids on this kitchen-counter remodel, but we did have Isaac submit a bid for a master-bath remodel. Comparing his bid to two others, we can say his pricing is competitive.

We recently called on Oglesby Construction for a few small repairs in our home that needed to be…read moreaddressed. We received a total of 4 quotes for a shower repair job from different independent contractors as well as the large box stores. We picked Duane because he was the only person who told us that we could save a considerable amount of money by repairing the shower insert instead of replacing it. We did just that and we couldn't be happier. In addition to saving us money, Duane's honesty and integrity was very refreshing. We were beyond satisfied with the quality of the work, the speediness of the service and the professionalism of the contractors. I understand that Oglesby Construction specializes in much larger jobs than one they did for us but nowhere along the way was Duane dismissive or disinterested in helping us. I believe that we got the same care and service that would have received were we working with on a more lucrative, complete home remodel, which we plan to do in the future. When that happens, we know exactly who we will be calling to get started.

He did the job on schedule and on budget, supervising several subcontractors during the process. It took about 3 weeks and they made sure my house was kept clean as the work was done. The contracting was extremely professional - having worked with several other contractors on prior projects on my property, I can say Jim at Double J sets the bar very high for professionalism, and I wish the other contractors would attempt to reach that same bar. Additionally, we were replacing all of our fresh water lines to and in the house. I would have given Jim and Double J ten stars had Yelp allowed me to do that! I have never had a better contracting experience than I had with Double J! Our plumber doing the repiping recommended Double J for the remodel work. Prior to the beginning of work, Jim gave us a spreadsheet detailing what would be done by who and when. Throughout the work, he communicated with us frequently advising us what was happening and what would be done next. He worked with us all the way through, helping us make the necessary decisions that we needed to make and purchase the things that we agreed to purchase. Jim works with a group of small, family owned subcontractors who have the same work ethic as Jim. They all were fantastic. The work was great, finished on time and in budget. His sub contractor got through about 2/3 of the project before apparently storming off. I was actually getting angry phone calls from the sub contractor demanding payment for a job not finished. I'm not sure what was going on behind the scenes, but it wasn't looking good. Chuck did sorta finish the job himself, but it was a thrown-together effort with lots of promises to follow up and complete tasks later...but none of that ever happened. To complete the job, he wanted more money. I paid it because I didn't think any more work would be done otherwise. If you have an alternative contractor, I'd say go with them.

Rudi's Construction Owner Tony came out and together we agreed on a classy custom-made design at a competitive bid price for a 7' high solid red cedar fence that included a top section of lattice and two new gates. Tony made the project a top priority, and his crack crew showed up the following week and set to work. I was very impressed with how proficiently and agreeably the crew worked together on this project, and the end result on the weekend was a stunningly beautiful, high-quality new red cedar fence that exceeded all my expectations.
