I called on Aug 22 and for $150 he said he would do my screen. He came over late that night and it took him about an hour and 45 minutes and walla!!! New screen. I was so happy. He was a really nice guy. Less than 70 hours later, on Aug 25, I'm sitting on my nice fluffy couch, scrolling on my phone. I don't have long nails or anything- just scrolling. (The prior 3 days the iPhone was very protected). All of the sudden I hear a *pop* and a hairline crack spreads down my screen. The two people on the couch both heard the pop and I told them my screen just cracked. We were all in shock. After all, after 4 android phones and 6 iPhones I've only had my phone crack once before (the one he fixed) and to just be sitting on the couch and have it crack 70 hours after repair is more than coincidence. I notified iRescue. He said he would get back to me. Then he sent me a text that started with (copied and pasted) "What do you think if I tell the customer the following? Does it sound OK?" (As if he copied and pasted to me a text he sent earlier to his wife trying to figure out a response to me) And then a long text message came after basically saying his warranty that he raved about before didn't cover the screen cracking. Well then what does it cover?! You fixed my screen which magically broke while on my couch less than 3 days later? I could tell he wasn't going to change his mind. The next day I found out we had to move at a moments notice the following weekend because the place I was renting sold, so I couldn't waste time going back and forth with him when it was obvious he was not going to attempt to rectify the situation at all. In this message he also stated that he's never seen anything like it, and neither have any of the repair guys he knows. Well uh, that has nothing to do with the fact that it happened. Period. That's what warranties do- they are there to protect the odd situation. If they were there to protect the common situation companies would lose money. So here I sit 2 weeks later with a hairline crack that is starting to spread.... Because I am trying to postpone spending another $150. Next time I will just drive up to Irvine and go to broken iPhones who really warranties their work because they have the volume and experience to do so. I don't know, perhaps he didn't believe me, or maybe he did, either way he made zero effort to rectify the situation. I should add that he told me he was on yelp on August 22nd when he fixed my phone. Come to find out today the reviews on here were added AFTER he fixed my phone and they are both new yelp accounts.... So maybe he hasn't been replacing screens for as long as he says. Do yourself a favor- use your insurance or go to a reputable place. Update: finally went to another place to fix my phone. The repair man said it is highly likely that there was a microchip in the glass that most likely occurred during replacement, based off if happening out of nowhere, how the crack started and how the crack looks.

On multiple occasions he's called me from random #'s asking me to Zelle him some cash because he can't afford to get his phone fixed, so that's why when my phone charging port failed I knew exactly where to go. I've been on Android & Samsung for 13 years never having had an issue other than loss. So when my S24 Ultra USB-C Port got loose I was thinking of just upgrading, but having lost some key features when they released the S25 Ultra I decided to repair. Phone was at 15% and was taking 3 hrs to charge via wireless and I needed my phone for work the next day (4PM thursday). I called ahead and they said $125 without knowing what model/brand. Showed up and James quoted hour and a half which was perfect as they closed at 7 and had the port in stock. They can sure fix the easy stuff, but when I asked about cases and accessories they pretty much only carry Iphone and the latest models from other brands S24 Ultra is a flagship phone. Service was great, but my screen protector was bubbled from when they removed the glass. Not a big deal, but I wish they had my brand/model for a replacement. While i was browsing I heard James interacting with another customer which gave me pause as he didn't seem to have any sympathy for them wanting to save an old phone which had pictures that were priceless to them. Loss of a star for that. Haven't had any issues since and I'll likely return if I ever have need for repair not through my insurance.
