They said they usually come up on Tuesdays and Fridays. They did a quick diagnosis at no charge, this was on a Friday. They purchased a timer on MONDAY, came back up late Tuesday and installed the timer, $370.00. Was glad to have refrigerator again so went to smiths and stocked up again. The fridge was nice and cold but after a cycle it stopped getting cold again. I called them in panic but they said they couldn't get back to me until the next week, so I lost another $150+ in food again. They said a cold controller this time needed to be replaced but couldn't get the part until the following Monday. I accidentally tapped the cold controller (the THERMOSTAT) while placing my water bottle onto the top shelf. The Fridge came back on. So they confirmed that it needed to be replaced. I kept tapping the Thermostat (what they were calling the "cold control" every 4hrs for about 5days to save my food. but because I had to sleep it shut off in the middle of the night and I lost much of my frozen food again (the third time). The following Monday they contacted me saying that the Thermostat was no longer available so the Fridge can't be repaired. Sorry Buddy you're out of luck. Try placing "Duct tape over the cold control.. , were they kidding? My son was surprised that SEARS PARTS wouldn't have a replacement part. My son contacted SEARS PARTS. They had the Thermostat. I texted ADAM from The Appliance Guys, Co. with the information on the part. They confirmed it, I ordered it, it arrived two days later on a Thursday which was lucky since they come to Los Alamos on Fridays. I let them know I had the part. They said they'd be here the next day late afternoon. The next day on Friday, they contacted me to say that they had a cancellation by another person in Santa Fe. So, IT WASANT WORTH IT TO THEM TO COME UP TO JUST REPAIR MY REFRIGERATOR. "Great customer service?? " really? As a customer I'm not worth it to them??? Maybe next week?? Meanwhile the Fridge stopped working again, lost more food. they never returned and would not respond to my texts/calls! Consequently, I had to wait another week for SEARS REPAIR TECH to come finish the job, more lost food and another $225.00. The SEARS Tech swapped out the "actual faulty part" with the one my son found from SEARS PARTS DIRECT. The Tech also found loose screws, and missed timer adjustments. Avoid these "Guys" at all costs. Just call SEARS or I've heard DNS repair is good. So, it's off to SMALL CLAIMS COURT we go! Unless I receive a refund and get all the costs of lost food back from Joe and Adam..., "The Appliance Guys". PS, I'm 75, don't need that type of bullshit! Oh yes "No Senior Discount offered" either!!

C'mon, that's a dope, straight up business title, right? I should've started a Poor Student Beer…read moreFund in college. A nonprofit, maybe. Trading existential meanderings for barley pops. The last time I needed to fix my clothes dryer, I found this dude on Craigslist who came over on a Sunday (appliances always break when you need 'em the most) and got-r-done at half the cost of the company he worked for. Yep, the guy drove his branded company van to my house and explained that he could make twice as much money off duty as he would workin' for the Man. It was a fine repair, and when the dryer busted this past Sunday, I hounded Craigslist again, this time coming across an ad that offered a $50 service fee plus the parts cost. I sent a text to the contact number, and Evan called me. I told him the problem (no heat), he asked me to send a picture of the model number of the dryer, and we set an appointment for 3:30 the next afternoon. Evan contacted me early the next day, he said his University class got out early, he could arrive whenever. 30 minutes later this kid steps out of his truck, he's like six foot five, I ask him what he's studying at school: medicine and philosophy. "So this helps with tuition?" I asked. Yep. He went right to it, and 20 minutes later the dryer was, ah, drying, again. He showed me the parts he replaced (igniter switch and a couple something-or-others), told me something about a glider -- I think -- that was okay for the time being but would need to be fixed down the line, showing me pictures. Total cost was $84. He handed me two business cards and I said, "575 area code. Are you from Las Cruces?" Yep again. He'd mentored with a guy before college and the trade was paying off, literally. You're all set, Evan. You're a sophomore. When you realize that med school isn't worth the price tag, and nobody will ever pay you to trade existential meanderings for beer, you'll still have your appliance repair company. Sweet.

The gas wall oven had problems with ignition that caused a booming sound when it lit up. The dealer tried twice to fix the issue and failed. Ortega's technician checked with the manufacture and solved the problem by making some adjustments. The dryer had stopped drying items- the drum turned but no heat. The tech - Ramone checked and a wire had burned off a connection. He made a new connection with a higher temp rated connection and the dryer works fine now. My wife and I were very pleased with the prompt and comprehensive repairs by Ramone. - I will note I am a retired general contractor and I know that appliances are not the quality units we used years ago. I had priced replacement appliances before I called Ortega's knowing it sometimes is more efficient to replace than to repair. - The wall oven and dryer were repaired at a fair price and continue to operate just fine. We will certainly use Ortega's for any future problems. I recommend them.

I had no idea what others would have charged not knowing what the issue was with the ice maker until they came out and charged a trip and a diagnostic charge, non refundable. This was applied towards the repair. I went online after the repair to see what the going rate for the ABQ area was. They are definitely at the very high end.
