Before I could finish explaining the problem, he began pulling our dryer out onto the Saltillo floor tiles to access the washer. I politely asked him to wait, explaining that I was concerned about protecting the tiles, and offered to lay down a drop cloth if he didn't have one in his truck -- at which point he abruptly said he was unwilling to work on my washer and launched into a story of how a customer had unjustly accused him of damaging their floor and had sued him. And then he left. Martin may be a skilled appliance repair man, but from my perspective, he has issues.

I had no idea what others would have charged not knowing what the issue was with the ice maker until they came out and charged a trip and a diagnostic charge, non refundable. This was applied towards the repair. I went online after the repair to see what the going rate for the ABQ area was. They are definitely at the very high end.

All I have to say is come weds my dryer better be 100% fixed.

Rather than feeling like a valued customer, I often felt as though asking questions or requesting information was an inconvenience. I continue to be surprised that individuals in customer-facing leadership roles would interact with customers in this manner. I normally work with the El Paso office and have had positive experiences there. However, when the office is unavailable calls get transferred to Albuquerque location. The last time I needed to fix my clothes dryer, I found this dude on Craigslist who came over on a Sunday (appliances always break when you need 'em the most) and got-r-done at half the cost of the company he worked for. Yep, the guy drove his branded company van to my house and explained that he could make twice as much money off duty as he would workin' for the Man. It was a fine repair, and when the dryer busted this past Sunday, I hounded Craigslist again, this time coming across an ad that offered a $50 service fee plus the parts cost. I sent a text to the contact number, and Evan called me. I told him the problem (no heat), he asked me to send a picture of the model number of the dryer, and we set an appointment for 3:30 the next afternoon. Evan contacted me early the next day, he said his University class got out early, he could arrive whenever. 30 minutes later this kid steps out of his truck, he's like six foot five, I ask him what he's studying at school: medicine and philosophy. "So this helps with tuition?" I asked. Yep. He went right to it, and 20 minutes later the dryer was, ah, drying, again. He showed me the parts he replaced (igniter switch and a couple something-or-others), told me something about a glider -- I think -- that was okay for the time being but would need to be fixed down the line, showing me pictures. Total cost was $84. He handed me two business cards and I said, "575 area code. Are you from Las Cruces?" Yep again. He'd mentored with a guy before college and the trade was paying off, literally. You're all set, Evan. You're a sophomore. When you realize that med school isn't worth the price tag, and nobody will ever pay you to trade existential meanderings for beer, you'll still have your appliance repair company. Sweet.

I've used Appliance Guys several times now and their work is fantastic! They've done repairs on a washing machine and a dryer for me, as well as a recent dishwasher installation, which I also purchased from them. They're super reliable, have great communication, and are very reasonably priced. It's plain to see that they have a lot of experience by the way they diagnose issues so quickly. I've since recommended them to family members who have also been thrilled. Appliance guys get my highest recommendation! We had a hard time finding someone to fix our washing machine and Joe and his son were able to resolve the issue very efficiently after doing a thorough assessment of the issue. He got right to work, cleaned the dryer well and replaced some drum parts that had worn down. He also cleaned the vent again and got up on the roof to verify hot air was flowing from the vent while the dryer was in use. Even though he didn't arrive on the hour, he still spent the two full hours making sure the dryer was working its best. He left everything clean. The door locked so we couldn't even get the clothes out. Honestly, we were fully expecting to be told that our washing machine wasn't worth fixing and we should just buy a new one. In a couple of hours, Tim got it running again like new. After that good experience, we asked Tim to do a regular service on our dryer. He was so thorough. I was surprised to see the whole drum removed. Even more surprised to see the amount of lint hidden inside the machine. The vent underneath our microwave had not worked in years. We'd had many repair people try to fix it in the past but with no success. Tim figured out the problem and fixed it very quickly. On top of everything else Tim was a very nice and conscientious professional. We'll definitely be calling him again next time we need an appliance repaired.

Anthony from the co. arrived, listened to my explanation of the what happened with the machine, said, "I might be able to recalibrate this," and went to work. A few minutes later my washing machine was working. Anthony was low key, friendly, and a good listener. I so appreciate finding a good appliance company. The cost with a check was $107.00. Also, interestingly, Anthony said not to wash jeans or pants with other clothes. That was good for me to know. 5 stars!

He also made another fix, free of charge. My frig is now working great. When I asked him to look at my dryer, he did so with no additional charge. My dog loved him. The poor guy was very patient as my dog became somewhat obsessed with his gloves and took them out of his carrying case. The rep was a doll. He was courteous, friendly, professional and explained everything clearly. Service was a bit pricey, but that seems to be the norm in the appliance repair biz.
