Sadly, it was the Corona virus and my need for fabric to make masks ( to donate ) which finally introduced me to this sweet lady and her successful shop. The place is wall to wall with quality quilting grade fabrics and associated trims and products. She is so helpful and energetic. The ladies shopping seemed very engaged and interactive with her and finding lots in her store as well. I found everything I needed for sure. Lots and lots of beautiful fabric. Highly recommend this hometown favorite.

Nice fabrics, patterns & books, The store samples give you great ideas in case you didn't arrive with any of your own. There were some hexagonal table runner & candle mat sets hanging on one wall. (See my photos.) Fabric from Moda and other high-quality manufacturers. Fat quarter bundles are made up and ready to grab for projects. They come with free quilt patterns put together by the store. The really special thing about this store is all the ribbon and trim. There are hair bows already made up and for sale, or you can buy some of the ribbons and make your own. Bring your little girl here and she'll pick out something beautiful to tie back her hair. Be sure to see my photos, and check out the little snap purses made from the Offray ombre ribbon roses. There are also kits for making specific quilt designs, and books about quilting. The store also offers quilting classes at reasonable prices. A class to make a wall hanging, for instance, may be only $25. Quilting isn't an inexpensive hobby, either, so I'm sure local quilters can appreciate that. The atmosphere was very friendly, too. Customers were chatting among themselves and with the staff when I visited. The clerk was more than happy to discuss their classes and the store's website with me at length.

I get there by getting off US-23 at M-36. I don't get out to Jennifer's very often, because there is nothing else that way that takes me to Pinckney. M-36 is twisty, but there are signs along the way to keep you on course. A visit to Jennifer's is worth the drive, especially if you're in the market for some 1940's reproduction prints! There is a large section of 40's fabrics -- the biggest I know of in the area. There are also Civil War era prints, lots and LOTS of novelties, such as fruits & veggies, dogs and cats, cowboys and firemen ... you get it. These fabrics are wonderful for making fun quilts for kids of all ages. I also saw batiks and the bolt of purple butterfly fabric. (In my photos.) Yes, Jennifer's has a lot of everything. It's a good mix of traditional and modern, and should appeal to nearly any quilter. I haven't even mentioned the patterns, books and kits. There are also sewing notions -- pins and needles and thimbles, oh my! Lots of rulers and tools to make sewing easier. I'll be back!

Lots of patterns for quilts, bags, and all those notions and things that you did know that you needed. Recently I just attended a vintage sewing machine repair class, limited the number of students, social distanced and everyone was masked for the entirety of the class. I felt very safe. Also, the store is on the second floor. There is an elevator. During this COVID time, there are numbers on the first floor door to grab as they are only letting people in with a number. When the numbers are not hanging, you have to wait for a customer to return their number, then you can grab it and come it. It's a really nice system.

They will even put on the binding for you if you don't want to do it yourself. The cost is extremely reasonable for an allover quilting design driven by computer. They also do some custom quilting. Why not FINALLY finish that project that seems too big to stuff under your domestic machine's sewing arm? I am totally unfamiliar with Stockbridge but I had no trouble finding the place. It's right off M-52 and the turn is easy to spot. Just look for the McDonald's on the outskirts of Stockbridge. The navy blue roof and the "Quality Quilting" sign should be visible even from the main road. They have a lot of cute patterns for quilts, totes & purses, aprons and what not. Sewing classes. To find out what's coming next, sign up for the store newsletter. The best way to do this is to write your name and e-mail address in the notebook at the cash register, but if you call the store I'm sure they can also add you to the list. Plenty of fabric. Major genres: * lots and lots of Moda fabrics, including precuts * French General (red and taupe vintage-looking prints) * Riley Blake and other "modern" designers; colorful and fun * Civil War reproduction prints to make traditional-looking quilts * Jo Morton fabrics, which have a very devoted following * novelty prints & panels for babies, kids & sports fans * "blenders" of every possible hue If you don't want to make the trek to QQ for the longarming service, you can drop off your top & backing at some other quilt shops. Leabu in Ann Arbor, The Stitchery in Howell and Jennifer's in Pinkney serve as drop-off points. You'll get a phone call when it's back and you can go pick up your finished creation.
