I have been here a number of times over the last couple of years as I expand my fabric collection. There is a great mix of traditional quilting fabric, batiks, modern, children's, and more. Lots of patterns for quilts, bags, and all those notions and things that you did know that you needed. Recently I just attended a vintage sewing machine repair class, limited the number of students, social distanced and everyone was masked for the entirety of the class. I felt very safe. Also, the store is on the second floor. There is an elevator. During this COVID time, there are numbers on the first floor door to grab as they are only letting people in with a number. When the numbers are not hanging, you have to wait for a customer to return their number, then you can grab it and come it. It's a really nice system. read more

I have been in the store several times lately, after a period of not sewing. I have to say I am so disappointed since Kathy sold the store. I can go in time and time again and no one pays any attention . there can be several workers standing around even. I understand if they are all busy Even the owner (I think0 will look at you and walk right past. I went in today to buy a presser foot and again no help. I will be taking my business back to ann arbor sewing, even if it is a drive. The only person who has been helpful is Debbie. So thank you Debbie. read more

The lady that greeted us was not quite rude but condescending. The lady that cut my fabric order was curt and also condescending. However, the lady from Florida was most pleasant. the fabric selection was grand, prices reasonably set and the store layout was great. I may try the quilt square a month club next year as I progress in skill but I definitely will not deal with the two older ladies again. read more

This is really HUGE quilt shop! You could get lost in there. I found an incredible selection of fabrics. Somehow I missed the civil war-era fabrics section, but I saw everything from batiks to novelties to neutral blenders to baby prints. Lots of samples & notions. Classes and class samples. This is the third location for this business, according to one of the employees. The best part is that the quilt shop shares a building with a bead store, a cross stitch/yarn store, a long arm quilter, and a custom motorcycle shop. That last one seemed like an oddball, until I learned that the cycle shop is owned by the husband of the quilt shop owner. There is free parking nearby, and lots of great places to have lunch. Bring a bunch of friends and spend the day in beautiful downtown Tecumseh. read more

But I have to say the paper piecing class I took with kathy at the Quilt Patch , was the BEST class I have taken .. Even though there were more people in this class Kathy made sure everyone knew what they were doing and took the time to go table to table .. A surprisingly large store, lots of nice fabrics and patterns. They do not carry ribbon. They offer coupons to people attending retreats at Artistry on Evans, but you have to have the coupon with you or they will not give you the discount, even if you are obviously part of a group from a retreat. Across the hallway is a crossstitch supply store that looked interesting but was closed, and a long arm quilter running three machines at once. read more

You will be so happy you made the trip to The Quilt Patch in Tecumseh, Michigan. It's a beautiful town, and the Quilt Patch is a jewel among many locally-owned businesses. Tons of fabric, patterns and so many samples you'll think you are at a quilt show! The staff will help you with fabric selection, instruction, encouragement and inspiration. The classroom is open to groups, and you can usually find someone working on a project. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, it's a MUST VISIT if you are anywhere in Southeast Michigan, Northwest Ohio, Northeast Indiana.
