Beautiful Park We camped at Presqu'ile with a group of 10…read morefriends between 2 sites in Elmvale campground for Labour Day weekend. Excellent experience! Our campsite was very clean, large, and quite private thanks to the trees and the sites across being offset. It was also a 2 minute walk to a beautiful rocky beach that provided beautiful views and a relaxing environment. The comfort station was a quick walk up a short pathway and was very well maintained and clean. On Saturday we walked the marsh boardwalk which provided beautiful views and informative signage. Easy 1.5km walk and well worth it. Spent one of the days on beautiful Beach #2 which was not crowded at all. The beach has soft, fine white sand and was very clean. The water was clear and perfect temperature. We also loved how far out we could go because the shallow shoreline goes very deep. We decided to follow the trail that goes along the water from our campground to the lighthouse. It took about 40 minutes each way and provided many beautiful, peaceful views. Unfortunately the lighthouse was under construction, but the view of Prince Edward County from behind the lighthouse was well worth the walk. The water was very calm and clear on this beach side as well. We also stopped at the Nature Center en route which was really interesting. The staff were very informative and friendly as well. Overall, we enjoyed our long weekend at Presqu'ile Provincial Park and would be happy to return again in the near future.

You can reserve your campsite through Ontario Parks website and each campsite offers 1 car and if you are bringing more cars, you need to pay extra. There's both sandy beaches (in day-use camp) and rocky beaches in the campground. There's both sandy park is well-maintained with washrooms and showers across the campground that are getting cleaned twice daily. The phone and internet connection is very poor in most of the areas, but it'll give you a perfect chance to disconnect from the day-to-day routine and connect with nature and have some peaceful time.

We stopped by here on our way back to the city from Bon Echo to grab lunch and some souvenirs. This…read moreattraction is a country market best known for their Giant Apple. You can actually go inside the apple and climb to the top for a view of the entire area. There are also stalls in the front selling fresh apples and produce, restaurants and cafes, boutique shops selling fresh fudge and cider. They also have a bunch of family attractions like mini golf, rides, and a petting zoo. Perhaps, what they are most known for is their bakery selling fresh apple pies, apple bread, cider, fritters and variety of seasonal baked goods. There is also an open-kitchen display window so you can watch how they bake their products. We decided to eat at the smoke house restaurant. A full rack of ribs, fries and a blooming onion costed $55. The ribs were flavorful and tender but I thought fries and onion were just very average and overpriced. I would skip those next time. Since I was watching my sugar intake, I skipped out on the more popular items and opted for a few scones and muffins for the drive back home. The scones were so rich, buttery and very crumbly on the outside with a dense interior. It was so savory and delicious. The muffins were very good as well and to my surprise wasn't too sweet. This was such a charming little town. I would definitely come back again next time I drive eastward. I think their bakery items are really good and were very reasonable in price. I'll try their famous apple fritter and apple bread next time I come back.

I dropped by here for apple pie, and also picked up some butter tarts, apple fritters and apple & strawberry fritter. The apple pie is quite nice and has a tartness to it for the no added sugar version and I also prefer it cold/fridge. Some prefer it hot and warmed up with ice cream which is an excellent option as well. The butter tarts were also surprisingly nice, gooey in the center with a nice light pie crust. I wouldn't recommend the apple fritter or the apple & strawberry fritter - mine was a bit too much dough, dense and a tad dry and mot to my preference. The store also has some souvenirs to purchase as well as a few hot foot options too if you're passing by and want a touristy type of feel which I quite enjoy. There's also a lot of tour busses that stop here which makes sense as it's a nice quick stop right off the highway.
