Presqu'ile Provincial Park was beautiful. The tent sites are all fairly private, and the bathrooms, showers, and water sources aren't too far away. We were disappointed that the Nature center was "closed for the season." We were also disappointed that beach swimming was closed due to high bacteria levels. We enjoyed getting ice cream cones in the camp store which was run by really helpful park staff. Our kids loved the trail that parallels the water, and it was neat to see a lighthouse up close. I will say that the mosquitoes were terrible, so don't go without an ample supply of bug spray. Also, the raccoons in this park are BOLD and cheeky. Keep your food and trash out of reach of the critters. Overall, though, it was a beautiful park. read more

I was an indoor kid. You know the type, I know all the sitcom theme songs, I played three instruments, I caught Carmen Sandiego many times, etc, etc. However, I'm trying to be a more outdoor parent. 100+ days of quarantine has made me extra grateful for all of the nature at our doorstep in southern Ontario. My wee family has been exploring. I went to Presqu'ile Provincial Park on a day pass and enjoyed a short, family-friendly hike and a swim on the sandy beach. It was a lovely day! The water was warm at the end of June (miracle!) and the park is doing a wonderful job implementing social distancing. I highly recommend the daytrip. So many bonus points for the chip trucks at the entrance. Chip truck poutine is always five stars. read more

Beautiful Park We camped at Presqu'ile with a group of 10 friends between 2 sites in Elmvale campground for Labour Day weekend. Excellent experience! Our campsite was very clean, large, and quite private thanks to the trees and the sites across being offset. It was also a 2 minute walk to a beautiful rocky beach that provided beautiful views and a relaxing environment. The comfort station was a quick walk up a short pathway and was very well maintained and clean. On Saturday we walked the marsh boardwalk which provided beautiful views and informative signage. Easy 1.5km walk and well worth it. Spent one of the days on beautiful Beach #2 which was not crowded at all. The beach has soft, fine white sand and was very clean. The water was clear and perfect temperature. We also loved how far out we could go because the shallow shoreline goes very deep. We decided to follow the trail that goes along the water from our campground to the lighthouse. It took about 40 minutes each way and provided many beautiful, peaceful views. Unfortunately the lighthouse was under construction, but the view of Prince Edward County from behind the lighthouse was well worth the walk. The water was very calm and clear on this beach side as well. We also stopped at the Nature Center en route which was really interesting. The staff were very informative and friendly as well. Overall, we enjoyed our long weekend at Presqu'ile Provincial Park and would be happy to return again in the near future. read more

August 2018 - My friend and I wanted to spend some 'camping' time. but neither of us had any equipment - so we rented a small trailer (delivered, set up and ready to go) from the fantastic services of @cottagesonwheels. This Park was on the water, was in their free delivery area and was near the lovely town of Brighton, and was about a two hour drive from the North (her) and West (me). We timed it to be right after the long weekend hoping for a bit more quiet and less activity. We really enjoyed everything about the park and surrounding areas and beaches. The camp spots were quite close, but people were nice and no-one complained when we played guitars around our campfires (some joined us, which was nice). We did run into some pretty torrential rains which curbed our exploration time, so we have rebooked to try again this year - same time, same place, but with added days - just in case ... read more

Is camping your style? Well yes yes it is then you have to check out Presqu'ile Provincial Park. Located outside of Toronto in the town of Brighton. Presqu'ile has everything to offer to the outdoors/ active person. They have a huge selection of sites whether you want private or not, on the beach or just a water view you won't be disappointed at Presquile. We ironically came across this campground when there was a local fire ban on but Presquile did not. I mean you can't camp without a fire and with the camp being so close to Sandbanks it was an easy pick and one I'm glad we made. If the lighthouse doesn't amaze you, then one of three beaches will or maybe it's the wildlife. The park has everything to offer to photographers of all levels. The fishing is great, and you can enjoy the park for the day or make a longer stay. To top it all off the staff is amazing. We've been to a lot of parks but the staff at Presqu'ile takes the cake. Best of all the whole family can enjoy themselves including the fur babies. read more

We went camping here. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest, but they do have things to do such as a small discovery centre, lighthouse, park store, and many guided activities each day. They had had a few large flush toilet bathrooms with showers, but many outhouses closer to many campsites. This was a downfall to me, as most provincial parks I am used to, have more flush toilets; even the small bathrooms that may look like an outhouse from the outside are often flush toilet at other parks. So I was surprised that these little ones were all outhouses. I'm glad we brought our bikes because it was a good 2-3 minutes bike ride to get to the flush toilets (not fun first thing in the morning). Unfortunately, due to large amounts of rain, all their beaches were washed up! Nothing can be done about that though. So on the one warm sunny day we had, we drove about 30min away to Northern beach and they had an area open to swim (and also canoe). On a overcast day, we went into Colborne, about 30 minutes away, and went to see the Big Apple farm. It has farm animals (goats, water buffalo, lama, chickens, etc) that you can purchase feed for if you like. They also have free admission, free parking, free mini putting, shuffle board, table tennis, etc. They also have a cute little train for younger kids. You can climb up to the top of the bog apple to look out. They have a very large store as well as a restaurant. They sell a lot of apple pies and apple bread, as well as have a candy store, and apple wine I believe. Went into town (Brighton) one day. Nice downtown with some nice shops. The town is close by, so if you forget anything, it's easy to go pick something up. My rating is 3/5 mainly due to the lack of flush toilets in the vicinity. I cannot comment of the beaches as they were all closed as they were washed out, which is out of their control. Hopefully later this summer or next year they will be able re-open. read more

Stayed here 4 times now love the trail along Lake Ontario, it goes across the back of a few of the campgrounds but it is mainly a bike path so expect the odd person to be flying through here on their bike. We have stayed mostly in high bluff campground and enjoy the convienence of a comfort station with showers. Great beach! Kids and my wife had a ball jumping in the waves. The camp sites were large and shady. Lots of services (couple of stores, nature centre with crafts and reptiles/amphibians on display) and short hikes (beautiful boardwalk) to keep us busy. One star off for the lack of comfort stations. read more
