If you ever had a bad experience at "iDance", this is NOT the same place. Yes, it has the same name, but what a world of difference iDance is now that it is under new ownership. When I used to go to iDance under the old ownership, it was disorganized, there was no one at the desk, our passes were not being honored, and it felt pretty chaotic. You could even see it in the way the instructors were being treated. Now though, I absolutely LOVE iDance! This newer location on Broadway has a very friendly, organized staff that are at the front desk. They are very accommodating, and they know how their students and customers deserve to be treated. The classes I've gone to so far are mostly hip hop classes- grooving and house- and the instructors of these classes are phenomenal! Not only are they able to teach at a truly intro level if that is what the class needs, but they also challenge those that need more advanced adaptations to the moves. Other dance schools advertise intro classes but they are not truly at an intro level or the instructors are not as inspiring. But iDance has a great balance of both. My mom passed away a few months ago, and honestly, I haven't been able to find anything that feels worth getting up and out and enjoying life for these days. But EVERY time I go to these classes, they are like magic- they turn my mood, my perspective and my whole day around. Plus I get exercise, get to listen to the most awesome music, and my sense of musicality and my body awareness gets heightened in each lesson. I highly recommend any classes that are taught by Kyle, Tony, Stu, or Chris at iDance. These instructors are amazing! And I want to thank them, and the NEW iDance, for giving me a bit of peace and fun in my life. You have turned around my whole view of the iDance name, and I will never stop coming to these classes as long as the same positive, inspiring environment that already exists just continues. I am from Vancouver (not sure why my profile says Edmonton:) and just took my first class at iDance in Mount Pleasant - the funk jazz class with Reyanna Nicolas. What a blast! I danced for many years as a child, teen and young woman. I was excited to get going again, but also somewhat picky about the teacher/syllabus. I chose iDance because of good online reviews, but Reyanna's class exceeded my highest expectations. The warmup got us going and wasn't not too long. Then, she got right into teaching the (really fun) choreographed combination, with plenty of time for us to absorb it and practice repeatedly. Because we had ample time to learn the combo it felt not stressed, but just purely enjoyable. Reyanna struck just the right balance in her class timing and pacing. Her music selection was great too! The studios are clean and well equipped. Great, flexible system for signing up/paying online too. Great place, with such a nice, welcoming vibe. I am sold and will be back every week. read more

I absolutely LOVE the Contemporary & Jazz classes at idance. They are exactly what I have been searching for here in Vancouver. The instructors know how to break down the steps and give different options for all levels. As a beginner myself starting dance classes at the age of 25 I rely heavily on the teacher being able to break things down properly while being able to move the class forward at a decent speed as well. Colleen Cassidy & Rae Fynn do just that. I recently tried Dancehall with Alyssa Amarshi which was amazing! Damn I cant wait until I can groove like her. It was such a blast her class is always packed for a reason. I cant wait to give house a try so far I have only heard rumors of Kyle. I hear he is next level. I always leave idance feeling challenged, like I am growing every week & like I am actually learning to dance. read more

I recently had the pleasure of taking classes at iDance and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. The studio's commitment to diversity is evident, from the range of dance styles they offer to the diversity of their instructors and dancers. One thing that really stood out to me was the fact that they have BIPOC immigrants instructors which is something that is unfortunately not always common in other spaces in Vancouver. It was really refreshing to see such a diverse group of people coming together to share their love of dance. Overall, I would highly recommend iDance to anyone looking for a welcoming and inclusive dance studio. I absolutely love my new Saturday morning routine of Zumba with Asal. The people working at the front desk are always very warm and welcoming. I appreciate the added COVID measures they have taken to ensure the studio is sanitized and each member has a designated dancing space. I enjoy the energy and friendliness Asal brings to each class. I always leave the class with my spirits feeling high and energetic. She offers a challenging, dynamic and well paced Zumba class. I feel like an hour flies by like a snap of your fingers. iDance is the most wonderfully fun, inclusive, and welcoming dance studio. Staff, teachers and students all create a community where you feel a genuine sense of belonging. The studios are airy and spacious and the vibe is positive and energized and uplifting. Plus, the classes are FANTASTIC! Nice variety plus different levels can accommodate dancers at every level, including total beginners. The music is always great. No matter what mood I am in when I go, the combination of the warm and supportive staff, the amazing teachers, the dancing and the overall vibe lifts me up every time. I have been a member at iDance for 3 or 4 years now and can't say enough good things about this incredible community. The teachers are so dedicated and love what they do, there are so many classes to try, with opportunities to experience different genres of dance and cultures. Everyone is incredibly supportive and welcoming. Amanda, Kailey and the team are incredible. They get to know their students and sincerely care about the people. I've made some great friendships through my time at iDance. The studios are some of the nicest I've seen. Modern, clean, spacious, and beautiful to dance in. You won't be disappointed! read more

I love the House classes at this studio. All the instructors are amazing and the atmosphere is great, everyone is friendly and fun. My favorites are the Groove type of classes, where I don't have to think too hard about choreo and just concentrate on learning skills and dancing to the music. They even have House progressives which is really nice for a relative beginner like my (less than 1 year experience). I wish there were more House classes at different levels so they didn't get filled up so fast :( . Leaving a positive review probably won't help HAHA read more

I can not say enough about how amazing dancing at iDance has been for me. I have a decent amount of dance experience from childhood into adulthood but had been on hiatus for years due to an injury. Coming back to dance at iDance with their open and intro levels and choice based classes has been perfect for me to build my strength back up and try all sorts of new styles that meet my body's needs right now. I danced a lot during my childhood and youth, it was the thing that gave me the most freedom and happiness, once I graduated college I started working and had to stop dancing, but the passion was there, I finally found a place where I can revive my love for dance, workout and have fun. I am so happy to be dancing at a studio again! I've been visiting idance for the past three weekends. I first tried a hip-hop class, then went to a launch event they had and tried seven sample classes, and just went to a contemporary one this past week! It's been such a fun environment and truly all levels. Drop in classes fit my schedule really well and the staff have all been nice! The studio was clean, the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the class was a blast! I had a lot of fun and definitely got some good practice and learning in. The instructor was very fast paced but helpful, and kept everything moving smoothly for the entire class. I will definitely be signing up again regularly. When you have no dance experience, going to a dance class can be very intimidating. Not with Idance where the teachers and the people are so supportive, you feel that everyone is here for the same reason, because they love moving their body when the music starts. I was NOT excited about this before the class, as I'd had the pleasure and luxury of taking classes with her in person for the past two months.
