We took the bus trip to town from Icy Straight and did a lot of shopping. A lot! So at the end I am ready to get the bus back and what do I see, Icy Straight Brewing. I went in sat at the window and had a Cannery Red ale. Delicious, off my feet, dry! What else can a guy ask for. What a fun stop, unexpected for us, but super excited to find a local brewery. Icy Straight Brewing is cozy and wow, I loved all of the wood. We grabbed seats along the window, looking out to the gorgeous views. If we weren't on a time schedule, we would have definitely stayed longer. Such a fun vibe. We each order a craft beer and enjoyed them all (Blonde, IPA and Hefeweizen). Easy drinking! The folks behind the bar were friendly and super helpful helping us find just the right pint. I also loved seeing the brewing equipment in the back. Whether you're in port to shop, to hike, to sight see, definitely end your day here. Loved this stop in Hoonah. Beer was great. The three of us tried the golden ale, the red ale and the stout. Great beers. They serve beer pretzels and popcorn - so not a lot of food choices. Merchandise was fun - we loved all of it. Great hats, zipper hoodies, T-shirts, knit hats. Service is friendly and fast and the atmosphere is comfortable. read more

Caitlyn recommended the Mexican Lager and she was on point with her recommendation!!!! Caitlyn was an absolute gem with her customer service. We stopped here on our way back to the cruise. First impressions - it's super loud inside. Really friendly service. The bartender let us do free tasters to find the pint we wanted. They are strict on the 3 beer rule and give each person a punchcard to track how many drinks they've had. No merchandise for sale. They have a small outdoor seating area. read more

Perfect stop on a rainy day. The atmosphere is bright and cheery and the servers are happy, friendly and ready to serve. A trendy environment in a distant place. Great for groups looking for a well balanced brew. Sadly no food here. The view is all you would want for a place in Alaska. See whales, sea lions, and bald eagles while having a drink. read more

Cute little brewery. Serving up their own take on the classic styles. This is also the bus stop for the bus back to the cruise ship, worth the time to grab a beer or two. If I recall, I had a Raspberry beer, was really good! Staff was super friendly. Place is spacious and open. Worth the stop especially as you wait on the bus. read more
