I had dinner here with my mom and overall we thought it was ok. We started with spring rolls (2 for $4.95). These were very good. They were really hot and crispy. The filling had ground pork, artificial crab, vermicelli, carrots and cabbage. I had the grilled beef, chicken, and shrimp vermicelli ($14.95). I asked for no bean sprouts and no fish sauce, and my dish arrived as requested. The flavours of this dish were excellent, but the quantity of meat was disappointing. The meats were sliced so thin. Like beef jerky thin. However, the meats were lean, which I appreciated, and I also appreciated that the shrimps were already peeled (as at some restaurants they are still shelled). Lettuce, carrots and cucumbers were fresh. The vermicelli noodles were nicely cooked. If the meat would have been more bountiful, this dish would have been much better. My mom was disappointed with her small special pho (pho dac biet) $9.95. She said there was no rare beef, and the cooked beef was practically all fat. The meat balls were also full of tendons. She did like the actual broth, but was disappointed with the toppings. It had 1 quail egg, a few pieces of fatty brisket, some tendons, some tripe, and a few very thin slices of chicken. She said there was very little actual meat/protein. Service was very nice, friendly and efficient. The server asked me if I wanted more water as soon as he saw that my glass was running low. The restaurant is in a strip mall in Bells Corners. The restaurant is not all that visible from the street. There is lots of free parking.

Best pho I've tried in West Ottawa. Rich and flavorful broth, generous portion of beef. Friendly service.

Re: Pho take out delivery. If you love cloves, order the beef broth. Too much cloves for me! Husband had chicken broth very nice flavour.

The food is high quality - often locally sourced and organic. Dahl soup was tasty, with just a hint of heat from the spice. Chicken taco filling was tasty but... and I think this is where I'm struggling... I am realizing that I really don't like soft tacos. Something about the texture of the taco itself puts me off. I'm sitting here trying to decide if I'm being fair giving them a three because of my preference for taco shells. I guess what I'm saying is: take my review with a (proverbial) grain of salt. Would love to see a garbage can and recycling bin put out. Since they are located on the UOttawa campus during school year, plan to bus/walk to get there. (Parking is a pain during the week.) If you get off at Campus Station 2B, Sweetpea (the truck) is really close by. (Don't take my word for it though - things change, so make sure you check on that.) Staff was great. They have 2 tables and about 6 chairs for people who want to sit and eat for a bit. Would I return: Yes. I'd love to go again when it's not Taco Thursday, to try to get a different menu item. Would I recommend: Yup - if you like healthy choices that are locally sourced and organic, this is a great option.

I know it's good - but all sold out today :(…read more Went to Bite This instead, support'n those trucks with my Belly !!!!

The kids picked at the mac and cheese and said it was "alright" but they were in love with the baguette that came with the soup. Service was so patient while we decided what we were ordering. I don't frequent Panera often, so the menu was super overwhelming. The garden caprese sandwich was SO SO SO GOOD! The bread was fresh, chewy and warm. I loooooooooooved the sauce combination of Italian dressing and and garlic aioli. Restaurant was cozy and relaxing.

Most things are made in house. Not cheap but, you get what you pay for, right?! Ex. A frozen single serve meal is $13.95. They have a nice, shaded patio and a restroom. They also sell really cute kitchenware, specialty cards and fun gift type things. I really enjoyed my time here and look forward to coming back. I stopped by The Red Apron to check it out. It's a cute shop that sells primarily frozen meals that you just need to stick in the oven. They also have frozen pies, cakes and other desserts. Prices are similar to those of fully prepared and plated meals at restaurants. They have artisan products like jams, salad dressing, nuts and crackers. They also have fresh baked goods, coffee and soup. I saw a few prepackaged sandwiches in the fridge. I did not see any hot ready-to-eat meals though. I grabbed a few ham and cheese scones ($4.25 each). They were delicious! They were full of cheese, cubes of ham, and chopped chives. And there was extra cheese on top too! Very tasty. Worth all the calories, lol. Service was courteous. There's bar seating inside along a window, and they have lots of outside patio seating, which would be great to grab a coffee and baked treat and catch up with friends. The ambiance is cafe/coffee shop-like. They have their own private parking lot for customers, which is free, so you don't have to worry about paid street parking. (94)

Eldon's is probably better suited to the community than something that was obviously catering mainly to the Lansdowne game night crowd. This was our second visit after our first one in August 2018. Eldon's has a rather short menu featuring various breakfast choices, then soup, salads and 3 sandwiches choices for lunch. The food is good. We had a beet and ginger soup that was delicious, served with a small salad that had a nice dressing, but contained a few decaying lettuce leaves in the mix of otherwise tasty greens (I know how hard it is to get your plastic bin of greens to keep fresh in the winter, but you really do have to pick through them more attentively). Also served with "toast" which is actually grilled rather than toasted and was very nice. They have a blackboard with wine and beer selections, but they were out of the wine we ordered and hadn't updated the board. We picked another from a rather short wine list. They do have a bar with an excellent selection of teas and coffees. Their espresso was one of the better ones I've had in Ottawa. The restaurant is clean and tidy, which made the experience even more pleasant. Service was attentive, though with only a few tables it's hard to fully judge. Still, everything we needed was taken care of. The food was fresh, portions were generous, and prices felt fair. I especially appreciated that their pancake wasn't overly oily like you often find elsewhere. Dishes leaned on the milder side which made it easy to enjoy everything. The kimchi was a little salty, but the pickled radish was a nice balance. Big plus: they serve Asahi draft, which you don't see everywhere. One small miss was the sundubu being accidentally left off our order, but no big deal, just an excuse to come back and try it next time along with the Kalbi. Seating was comfortable, and I loved the individual wireless table lamps at each table which added a nice touch. Overall, a great first experience and I would definitely return to explore more of the menu.
