My company hosted a team building event here a couple months ago, and it was a blast. We had a back…read moreroom reserved for about 25 of us and there was a buffet set up with burgers, dogs, Mac and cheese, salad and wings. We also each had two drink tickets to use on an assortment of beer and wine. The food was good- standard quality for this type of place- and the service was attentive and friendly. After the dinner hour, we had an hour reserved for a couple bowling lanes and then we each had a $25 credit card to use on games and rides. I tried a go kart for the first time and it was definitely a memorable experience. Other rides available include a carousel, pirate ship, and even an indoor drop. There are a ton of games - minigolf, race cars, shooters, etc but I prefer some classics like skee ball and basketball. This place is massive, and for its size, appears to be very well maintained, clean and tidy. Since we arrived on a weeknight, it wasn't too crowded but I could see it getting much busier on a weeknight. It's probably expensive to enjoy an afternoon or full day here, but there is definitely something for everyone. @azfitfoodfun

My husband…read moreand I attended the opening show of their free summer concert series, and we were in awe of how well-maintained this park is, and how organized our entire experience was. We arrived around 5:30 PM to claim our seats on the lawn, and thankfully we were able to find a parking spot right near the pedestrian bridge across the street. The city posted a very detailed map of parking options on their Instagram page ... and the amazing thing is, not only is all of that parking free, but there is a free shuttle that will take folks back and forth to their spots if they are unable to walk that far (or even if they just don't want to!) The openers started at 7 PM, and then the main act started around 8:15 PM. This gave the crowd plenty of time to get situated in their spots, grab some snacks, hit the restrooms, or even ride the carousel! This was a family-friendly outdoor concert, and they did a great job of having food/drink/activities for both kids and adults to enjoy. A glass of wine or a can of beer was just $5 each ... which felt like a steal since I'm used to spending more than double that for the same pour at other concert venues. The show itself was awesome ... we saw The Fray and they were everything we wanted them to be and more. The sound and lighting were both great. The layout of the park allowed many folks to stay in their folding chairs for the majority of the show, and still be able to see what was going on on-stage. Five stars all around for Village Park and the city of Kannapolis ... more cities should take note of what a great job they are doing here to engage their community!

Although I haven't tried laser tag, I did attempt the grid. It's very much similar to activate except it has 30 rooms with each containing a different point value & different objectives. The goal is for the team containing 2-5 people to reach 1,000 points. The first time I went with my group, we only got 175. It's totally okay for that to happen, I'd highly suggest going with 3-5 players at least for some of the rooms you encounter, but I'm sure if there is only two they compromise for it. Overall is a fun experience, and it is highly suggested that you wear comfortable clothes and some closed toe shoes. This is due to the fact that some of the rooms deal with mental, physical, skill, or a bit of it all. You are being timed from 30, 60, or 90 minutes. I would highly suggest the 90 minute one to ensure you have a chance to visit 85-90% of the rooms. They have hand sanitizers located on some of the walls outside the room as well! Really funny experience! They also have a concession stand as well.

Came to Urban Air for a birthday party…read more It really annoys me when we go to a venue for a party and we STILL have to wait in a long line only to check in for a party. Luckily a lady came by after a while and asked if we were attending a party and let us check in through the self service kiosk... In my opinion, someone should be on standby as guests for parties are arriving to help them get checked in quickly and taken to where the party is taking place. When you book a party, you select a time slot, why not have the party coordinator receive the guests as they come?? It would make the process a whole lot easier.. I have not been to Urban Air since my son had his Birthday there a few years ago, but I can see a decline in the cleanliness of the establishment. There are just a bunch of young kids working here that have no conflict resolution skills, the place was dirty. I did like that they had everything set up before hand for the party, that was nice. They provided the socks and wrist bands for the kids, they provided the pizza as well. Overall, despite how I felt, my son and his friends had a great time, and I guess that's all that matters! They have zip lining, bumper cars, a ball pit, trampolines, VR etc. So a lot to do for sure.
