We were very excited to go and try the Ramen! But it was so hard to decide between all the other options they had! Service was great although we did go at an off time, around 4:30. Grandmother got the orange chicken and we all tried her fried rice and we all wished we had gotten a side of rice too! Husband got the Ichiban ramen and enjoyed all the meat and toppings. Although he tried MY black garlic ramen and said that broth was much better! Very cute anime decor inside, wasnt a huge fan of the music but Im not a top 20 kind of person. Let me start off by saying this is probably my third time here but I haven't done a review and felt like I needed to leave one because of how amazing this place is. With as bustling as Tyler is, you can easily drive by this place and not know a gem existed. Inside, you can seat yourself and you will immediately be greeted by a server. Staff are very attentive and knowledgeable. The inside of the establishment is anime themed oriented so if you are into that, you came to the right place. I ordered the Kalbi Beef ribs along with shrimp shumai fried and my SO ordered the walnut shrimp with fried rice. The food didn't take but 15-18 minutes to arrive at our table. The shumai was decent and had a very nice sweet taste to it because it was accompanied by the soy-teriyaki glaze it came with. The Kalbi beef was to die for. The sweet glaze that gets marinated onto the ribs was superb. I didn't care much for the lettuce and other veggies as I think that was mostly to add color to the dish. I tried the walnut shrimp and I was extremely pleased with the taste. The shrimp had a coconut honey coating to it which made it taste similar to Panda Express but 10x better. For dessert, I had green tea ice cream. It came with whip cream and I despise whip cream but what can you do? It was already on there so I had to leave it. The ice cream was delicious. Wow! I'm from Houston and in Tyler for the week and this was some of the best Ramen that I have ever had. I forgot to get pics because I dove in but the I got the lunch special for $19.95. Spicy Ramen with chicken, mango boba, and spring rolls. Everything came out so hot, fresh, and delicious tasting. The staff was so nice and checked on me enough to make me feel comfortable. I'm in Tyler to drop my daughter off for college. OMG! This rice is so good!!! So full of flavor I did not need to add soy sauce. Fried dumplings or gyza good as well and I didn't need the dipping sauce like it was good all by itself. I will be stopping by here everytime I visit. If your broth is not good, who cares about the other ingredients!!!! The video was super tender and definitely had a super amazing punch of flavor. One night I decided to try this place and get the Birria Ramen. I heard it was so good. I was very excited to try. I ended up being very disappointed. My ramen wasn't good at all. It had no flavor whatsoever. The birria was very tough. It took me forever to chew it. I try to season up the broth myself ... it still wasn't the best. Second ramen shop in Tyler! Even though I did try multiple items, I'm just going to rate their tonkotsu ramen. Why? Because if a ramen shop can't get their basic ramen right, then might as well just quit. Plus ramen is all I care about, so their other items could be horrible and it still won't change my rating since I'm going to a ramen shop for ramen. 4 stars for the tonkotsu ramen, so I'll return back to try their other ramens and update this review accordingly. Their tonkotsu broth (made with pork bones but I think they might also use chicken bones in it but couldn't tell 100%) is pretty solid in my opinion, which means they use a sufficient quantity of the bones and boil it for a sufficient length of time to get a nice strong base. I do think their broth is better than Mikoto if you want to compare to Tyler's other ramen shop. However, DFW does have a bunch of different ramen shops, so I would encourage people here to venture out to the Metroplex to try shops like Wabi House, Kyuramen, etc. The ramen noodles are the wavy kind (personally I prefer wavy) and were cooked perfectly. The toppings are standard fare and I think that the seasoned egg (ajitsuke tamago) and charsiu (roast pork) had a good flavor. However, like many places now, they only give you half the egg instead of the whole. Their pork is also on the thinner side. I think if they torched it longer it would have given it a tad more flavor that makes up for the lack of the meat. Good start for a brand new restaurant, so I'm looking forward to making my way through the rest of their ramen menu. read more
