This place use to be great. Last night was awful. The waitress needs a new profession bc that ugly attitude and she never checked back to refill drink. Barely any food out and what was, was old hard and dry. Won't ever be back disgusting. From the service with waitress and leftovers All around awful experience. Use to be our favorite been going for years but it had gone downhill severely read more

Use to be great. Has fallen quite tremendously on quality and freshness as of late. Every time I come it's worse than the previous time.

This was an ok buffet. The selection was pretty big for the size of the place and the staff (very few) were kind and helpful. It wasn't too crowded so they didn't have too much food out and the fortune cookies were stale. It had all of the usuals: chicken/beef and broccoli, noodles, fried rice, etc. I think I would rather new city buffet, but that's just me. read more

Good buffet in the area. Good price, my total was around eight bucks and some change. Friendly service. Good selection however I found my meats to be on the dry side. The crab Rangoon and sushi were my favorite. read more

Ichiban Buffet - Japanese Near Me - Picayune, Mississippi

We came here on a Saturday around 6 PM. Nearly everything we had was flavorful, hot, and prepared well. I really mean that. I had a sampling of about 12 different things. Crab Rangoon was STUFFED! Best Egg Rolls I've ever had from a China buffet - full of meat and flavor. Coconut shrimp was good. Slightly sweet and Mayo-y. The sushi was mostly good especially the fried ones. The only things I didn't like was the plain fried shrimp and the "dynamite roll" sushi. I usually avoid buffets for several reasons but was really feeling it today. I chose this one because of the friendly service on the phone (Slidell's Golden Dragon hung up on me) and it was closer. This was probably the best Chinese buffet I've ever been to hands down. Affordable too, $11 a person. I'll be back, it's my main China stop now. 4.80 / A rating read more

I was surprised when I saw how low the reviews on this place are. Everytime I come here I am served top of the line Asian food with an amazing and polite staff. Anything from sesame chicken, sushi, rangoons, all incredible. Most of these negative reviews have to do with a situation a long time ago, do not listen to those reviews, as the mass majority is an attempted bullying to shut down an amazing business from a mistake. I love this restraunt and recommend it to anyone. read more

DONT TRUST THE LOW RATING I have not been to this restaurant. I came across it looking for a restaurant in Picayune. I was disgusted with the bad review bombs. So disgusted I took the time to write this. I have personal reasons to like to see support for veterans. But it is really clear there was some private social media group or mailing list (which appears to be centered in Texas) where this particular veteran with a service dog or a friend got people riled up to go and make negative reviews. I have no idea if any of these negative reviewers verified any underlying facts. What I am sure of is that most of these reviewers have never been to the restaurant. I understand people fired up to defend veterans. But that is what the original (veteran written) review is about. Anyone who cares can read their review and make decisions accordingly. Reviews are to be written by people who HAVE BEEN TOTHE RESTAURANT. Making a negative review of their service or food that is based upon someone else's alleged experiences is dishonest and amounts to a gang bullying through spreading a lie. A lie because your one star rating is clearly supposed to be based on your own experiences with a restaurant, not because someone told you to write a negative review. I will be going to this restaurant just because of this gang of bullies. I will write a review that does what a review is supposed to do; recounts my personal experiences. I will then change the rating I have here based on what I experience, not what some bully in Texas or Rhode Island tells me. read more

We had a family of 5 and a baby. We were greeted by Diane. She was friendly and helpful. The buffet had all the regulars in it. The sushi was very good; better than most buffets. Our tea glasses were always full and overall a good experience. We will eat here again read more

Refuses service to a service dog. Don't recommend this place at all. Very disappointed.

please, please don't sleep on this place! and def. don't trust the bad reviews! this place is hands down the best food at the best value! It's fresh and they cook in small batches. you won't find better sushi around! the only negative I can say is that they are slow to restock the buffet. read more

Worst meal I ever had. The food was cold and tasted more like cardboard than actual Chinese food. Poor service as well. Rude people who don't seem to care much for paying customers unless you happen to be oriental. They make a fuss over orientals. Restroom was filthy and didn't appear to have been cleaned in days. Thumb's completely down for me. Never, ever again. read more

Refused Service to a veteran because he was with his service dog. Dog was legal with government issued identification. Any restaurant or business in the USA that refuses a veteran for any reason should not receive any of our business. Support our veterans who risked their lives for this country. Do not eat here!!! I had to give at least one star but if I could have left a negative star rating I would have. read more

I read the previous reviews and thought I'd give them a chance. I called to place my order and the lady was incredibly rude. I asked for C22 directly from their menu and she said "was it that?" So I explained that I wanted sesame chicken then before she asked what soup I wanted....she said "you want anything else?" Like i was bothering her. I told her to forget the order and and she said fine and hung up on me. read more

I just learned that on June 28th, 2018, Ichiban Buffet refused service to a US Veteran and his service dog. Besides being against the law, it is a pitiful shame and an inexcusable way to treat a Veteran! I hope they get sued for failing to honor the rights of this Veteran and his service dog (with government credentials). Shame on you Ichiban Buffet! Bad call! They only get one star and that's because I had to select a rating, otherwise I would have given them ZERO stars! read more

Poor quality food. Tasteless. Money would have been better spent lighting it on fire. The fish had a funny smell. When we complained the staff acted like they didn't understand English. I was both offended and disgusted at the same time. My meal consisted of Hello and pudding due to the fact they were the only things that were edible. If you plan to visit, take your own food! read more

Here in Southern Mississippi is a hidden gem. The buffet is very good and at most buffets the sushi is awful. This place is sooooooooo different. The sushi is fresh and the variety is wide. The prices are wonderfully reasonable. Everyone should try this place! read more

Sweet and sour soup excellent as well as the price for lunch. The downside is the sushi rolls are basically dressed up California rolls , the buffet meat faire is mainly chicken proteins , no visible pork or beef items but the price is great ! YOU DO NOT HAVE A GREAT PLACE! WHEN OUR SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN ARE REFUSING SERVICE BECAUSE THEY USE A SERVICE DOG. Today June 28 2018 my son came for a visit from Jackson, MS. We always have lunch when he is here. We attempted to eat at the Ichiban Buffet located at 406 Telly Rd. Picayune MS. My son has a service dog which I am proud to share pictures of, she was wearing her service vest and yes he did show her government issued ID to the young woman at the door. However that did not stop her from "REFUSING HIM SERVICE". I am reaching out to my Facebook friends to ask for help in spreading the word. Is this the way we should treat our military veterans? My son almost died for his countryonly to be told he and his service dog were not welcome at this restaurant! I for one will never spend another penny there. I am angry and hurt thinking that he almost died protecting our rights but was not allowed to eat at a local restaurant. PLEASE, PLEASE let's let Ichiban Buffet know how we feel about the utter lack of respect shown to a wounded warrior. THIS ALL NEEDS TO STOP...THEY GAVE FOR FOR US AND WE NEED TO TRY AND REPAY THEM FOR THEIR SACRIFICES....i WILL BE SPREADING THE WORD "NOT" TO EAT THEIR AND THE REASON WHY! read more

I have eaten here several times. The food and service are unpredictable. They do serve beer. Most of the time they run out of the prime items if you are eating from the buffet. The decor is typical of low budget restaurants. Don't expect a romantic night out here...slide into the booth and run grab a plate before the good stuff is gone! Prices for the buffet are reasonable. read more

This restaurant has a reputation for terrible food, lousy service, and dirty rest rooms. The food is mostly inedible. To top it all off, they refused service to a veteran who had a legal service dog with him. this is against the law but it is also just another indication of the lousy service you can expect. read more

My first visit, and it won't be my last. I've searched for real Chinese food from N.O. to Hattiesburg, and they are beyond a doubt the best. My family will visit at least once a week and I'll go for lunch. If you seriously enjoy Chinese, and you don't at least try, you deserve what you get. read more

The BEST price for buffet, hibachi AND sushi. Super cheap and very good!! Great small town find.

Not as good as it was in the past. It was ok for a buffet. Wish they would add cabbage to the grill ingredients.

Best Chinese Buffet in town. Their Sushi is the best. Great overall choice of items. It isn't the size that counts it is the quality.

This place was ok for a buffet. I typically stay away from buffets but I was hungry one Tuesday night and visited 1 hour before closing. The selection was still good and there was one other family there dining in. Service was good and the food was fast food buffet style Chinese. Probably go back under similar circumstances (Tuesday night starvation in Picayune), but wouldn't go outta my way for this place. read more

My to go order was incorrect and had decided to eat just the rice until I found they failed to put soy sauce in the bag as requested. I called to complain and was hung up on.
