This was an ok buffet. The selection was pretty big for the size of the place and the staff (very few) were kind and helpful. It wasn't too crowded so they didn't have too much food out and the fortune cookies were stale. We came here on a Saturday around 6 PM. Nearly everything we had was flavorful, hot, and prepared well. I really mean that. I had a sampling of about 12 different things. Crab Rangoon was STUFFED! Best Egg Rolls I've ever had from a China buffet - full of meat and flavor. Coconut shrimp was good. Slightly sweet and Mayo-y. The sushi was mostly good especially the fried ones. The only things I didn't like was the plain fried shrimp and the "dynamite roll" sushi. I usually avoid buffets for several reasons but was really feeling it today. I chose this one because of the friendly service on the phone (Slidell's Golden Dragon hung up on me) and it was closer. This was probably the best Chinese buffet I've ever been to hands down. I was surprised when I saw how low the reviews on this place are. Everytime I come here I am served top of the line Asian food with an amazing and polite staff. Anything from sesame chicken, sushi, rangoons, all incredible. DONT TRUST THE LOW RATING I have not been to this restaurant. I came across it looking for a restaurant in Picayune. I was disgusted with the bad review bombs. So disgusted I took the time to write this. I have personal reasons to like to see support for veterans. But it is really clear there was some private social media group or mailing list (which appears to be centered in Texas) where this particular veteran with a service dog or a friend got people riled up to go and make negative reviews. I have no idea if any of these negative reviewers verified any underlying facts. What I am sure of is that most of these reviewers have never been to the restaurant. I understand people fired up to defend veterans. But that is what the original (veteran written) review is about. Anyone who cares can read their review and make decisions accordingly. Reviews are to be written by people who HAVE BEEN TOTHE RESTAURANT. Making a negative review of their service or food that is based upon someone else's alleged experiences is dishonest and amounts to a gang bullying through spreading a lie. A lie because your one star rating is clearly supposed to be based on your own experiences with a restaurant, not because someone told you to write a negative review. I will be going to this restaurant just because of this gang of bullies. I will write a review that does what a review is supposed to do; recounts my personal experiences. However that did not stop her from "REFUSING HIM SERVICE". I am reaching out to my Facebook friends to ask for help in spreading the word. Is this the way we should treat our military veterans? My son almost died for his countryonly to be told he and his service dog were not welcome at this restaurant! I for one will never spend another penny there. I am angry and hurt thinking that he almost died protecting our rights but was not allowed to eat at a local restaurant. I have eaten here several times. The food and service are unpredictable. They do serve beer. Most of the time they run out of the prime items if you are eating from the buffet. The decor is typical of low budget restaurants. Don't expect a romantic night out here...slide into the booth and run grab a plate before the good stuff is gone!
