BEST noodles in town! I would eat this for every meal! Wish it was a little bigger with more seating, but worth the wait!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant ever. I haven't had a single thing on the menu that I didn't like. It's the closest thing you can find to an authentic noodle bar, not just in Amarillo but the whole USA. It also has great service, they are always very prompt to get you refills and take your order. Even when they are busy, the food comes out at a reasonable pace. It can be cheap too if you want to make it that way. Had the craving for some good ramen tonight so a friend and I stopped at Ichiban. Small place but great smells hit us when we came in. I had the spicy miso ramen and the spicy edamame appetizer. The edamame was quite pleasant and the ramen was excellent. I will have to say the ramen is amongst the best I've had anywhere in the many places I've had. read more

Walked in 40min prior to closing...lady told us "sorry I'm sold out" but as soon as she told us that, she continues to the others who walked in with us, "what can I get you to drink" smh 1st of all how do you "run" out...what did you run out of ALL FOOD?? Love it. I get a different Ramen every time I go. Always delicious. You have to try the spicy edemame.

No where on their menu/website did it state that they were closed on Saturday and Sunday! I drove all the way there ... just to leave. I am so very disappointed and upset that I could not eat there after reading the reviews and being recommended by the hotel I was staying at. I will always call ahead now after learning my lesson and being left hungry and angry... hangry! read more

Been there twice, tried green chili ramen and chicken curry rice dish. It was okay, not impressive. The soup of the ramen was thick and tasteful but ruined by the over use of coconut milk. Curry was okay, nothing special. The waiting time can be more than 30 min. I had that experience twice. Not a place for lunch if u only have an hour break read more

Recently ate here for dinner with a friend, great Chinese food for sure. The restaurant is small and conveniently located on a small shopping strip off Georgia street. Is a small hole-in-the-wall type place with little decor and very utilitarian feel to it. Has an open kitchen where you can see your food being prepared if you seat at the bar. One thing, is busy...always a good sign. We were promptly seated in the only table available. Ordered green tea-very well brewed. I ordered an udon noodle beef stir fry that was simply put, delicious. My friend ordered almond chicken with fried rice. The chicken was good the rice however, not the best I've had. Price was quite affordable. For a quick bite of good Chinese food, this seems like a very good place. Will most certainly return. read more

First time to try and we were amazed. Little place with fast courteous service. Egg Rolls were delicious. I love pad Thai and I was not disappointed. The boss had fried rice, add fried tofu. The sauce that was recommended for the tofu was amazing and could have been used on my pad Thai. We were extremely happy with out choices and will be back. We decided to stop here on our way through Amarillo and we were not disappointed. We had Ramen noodles, Pad Thai and Suliyaki noodle. All 3 dishes tasted good. When we drive up and the parking lot it was packed and I knew we made a good choice. read more

One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. A very nice family operation. It is a bit of a hole in the wall, with only a few tables and bar/counter to eat at. This is honestly I a awesome place if you love ramen, meat and Asian cuisine. Sadly thou, only go there if absolutely not allergic to any kind of meat. A friend suggested this place for lunch, and I am so glad she did! I wish I had tried this place sooner. The Garlic Basil Fried Rice is out of this world amazing. The flavor is intense, and it has a spicy heat that is not overwhelming, yet very noticeable. Their menu also specifies the heat level of each dish. Their menu gives Garlic Basil Fried Rice a 2 chili pepper rating, which is classified as "very hot." They have dishes going all the way up to a 4 chili pepper rating, which is classified as "fire hot." Ichiban is going into the regular rotation of places to eat. This is a local gem! read more

I went there for lunch today with co-workers. The food was delicious and delivered in a timely manner. The problem I had arose later in the meal. We let our waitress(Jasmine, the manager) know that we needed to place a to go order for our boss and she told us that it would be an hour wait. We all thought "wow, that's a while to wait!" But we were in no way upset about it. Jasmine then told us "well, this is a restaurant not a fast food place so she'll just have to understand." I'm a firm believer in that fact that it's not what you say, but how you say it that can anger or offend someone. And the tone and wording that she used were completely uncalled for. We will not be back and they have also lost other potential customers that we work with that asked us how it was. read more

All these 5 star reviews must be from family members or friends of this establishment. To say this food is authentic ramen is to say that Panda Express is authentic Chinese cuisine! To start off, every ramen dish was way too sweet! I understand they are trying to cater to the Amarillo customer base, which doesn't know any better - but that just defeats the whole purpose of authentic cuisine. Once you change things around, it's really not authentic and what you're really eating is "an Americanized Ramen" instead of real Japanese ramen. But it doesn't stop there, not only was the ramen way too sweet, but their Katsu Curry was way too sweet as well. Japanese curry should have a somewhat salty/savory taste to it but their curry was neither! Finally, their udon was too sweet as well. Go to any Japanese restaurant and do a taste comparison of udon and you will see this place is way too sweet! I get it: they're trying to be a ramen place that is catering to the Amarillo crowd who probably doesn't know any better...but shame on you for all who think this place is awesome. It is no where near the status of this place's namesake (ichiban in Japanese means number 1) and it's amazing to me how many Yelpers are not real connoisseurs but actual posers! Finally, the reason for the 2 stars is because of the service. I honestly wanted to rate this place a 1 star but there's one lady that works really hard there. I think she's the daughter of the owner, but she's the one keeping everything together there and without her, this place would go down as fast as a WWII kamikaze jet!!! One of the cooks brought out the wrong order and instead of replacing the dish, the girl made an excuse that "he's just out of it tonight." It's sad that the owner doesn't even know his own dish which he was making - but what's even sadder is that the girl who was working so hard had to cover for the owner by making excuses for him. Are we ever going to be responsible for the mistakes we ourselves make? I would've given this place 1 star but that hard working girl doesn't deserve the tough spot she's been given. I love this place so much I make an attempt to visit once a week at least. :P The food never fails me my all time favorite is the udon chicken (if that is how it is spelt.), chicken fried rice, and the egg rolls are just the icing to the cake. ^.^ The only thing that is unfortunate is the size of the place, but the environment is always comfortable and the fact that the kitchen is opened up makes me feel so at ease.
