On your way from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe, you can just drive right up to the falls from Highway 50, going eastbound. What makes this very convenient is that this is also a large pull out space that you can park to make it really easy to just get right out of your car and take a closer look. This waterfall is 80 feet tall and makes for a nice stop to stretch your legs and enjoy the cool air. When my husband I went, we stopped by this waterfall towards the end of March. The waterfall is not gushing with water but the flow is enough to nice and have that nice flowing sound that relaxes you. This part of the Eldorado National Forest is free to drive through and visit but there is a fee if you wish to visit the Bridal Veil Group Campsite and Picnic Area that is nearby. Definitely worth a visit and something to look out for if you plan on driving to Lake Tahoe from Sacramento.

If you are looking for a beautiful waterfall, but aren't a hiker then you've come to the right…read moreplace. Bridal Veil Falls is for you. It's not picturesque as some as it's right on the freeway, but if you focus on the waterfall and ignore the traffic zooming by you can find some tranquility. This is the prefect water for all ages. If you are a little one just learning to walk or in a wheelchair this waterfall is accessible to everyone. No steps or steep rocky hike is necessary to access these falls. There is one catch to watching these falls and that is to know where to pull off and not pass it. If you are heading to Tahoe from Sacramento it's on your right hand side and easy to pull off. I don't suggest you try to hit it going the other way in traffic a s it's almost impossible to pull over from the opposite side of the road. And please don't try parking and walking across the highway. I've seen it done and it's a crazy stunt. Your best luck is using your gps to get there and have someone watch the gps as you drive so they can tell you when you should get ready to slow down and pull over. Don't be surprised if you slow down and get honked at as you are on a freeway and there is no exit lane. Also be careful when recentering the highway as there is no lane to start expelling in. You're going to be going from a complete stop to 65 miles per hour. I don't know how people they do it safely. Years ago we've made the stop, but lately we just drive by as we forget it's there till we drive by. Poor planning on us. I do love that you don't have to hike into it.

The park was dedicated in 1968 by the…read morePlacerville Lion's Club. 24 acre park with two tennis courts, four pickle ball courts, two softball fields, frisbee disc golf course, children's play area, restroom, walking trail, and picnic tables and bbqs. The courts are locked though. City residents can purchase a key from the City's Parks and Recreation Office to access the courts. The park was extremely clean and well maintained. On my weekend visit, I was surprised to see a groundskeeper working on a weekend afternoon. He was no slacker. No wonder this place was so neat and tidy.

Low rating due to lack of customer service!!!!…read more This place has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I finally had the opportunity to visit with two of my girlfriends. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing, not because of the attraction itself, but because of how we were treated. It was an extremely slow day, and we were the only visitors there. The woman at the entrance was rather monotone and seemed almost surprised that we were there. After we paid, she emphasized that we had only 15 minutes in the cave and that if we went over, we would need to have a conversation. Her tone and expression made it difficult to tell whether she was joking, but it certainly didn't make us feel welcome. I understand that businesses have rules, but the way they are communicated matters. We were three adult women who had come to enjoy an experience we'd been looking forward to. We had no intention of causing trouble or damaging anything, so the warning felt unnecessary and off-putting, especially considering we had paid admission. After the self-guided tour, we walked over to the blacksmith area. The woman sitting outside gave us another uncomfortable look, and we weren't even sure whether she was a visitor or part of the staff. We eventually spoke with the blacksmith and expressed interest in watching him work. He explained that he was waiting for a Home Depot delivery and said he'd be back in about 10 minutes. We waited, but he never returned, and no one acknowledged it or offered an explanation. What bothered us most was the overall feeling that our presence was an inconvenience. We were genuinely interested in the history and activities offered at the property, yet we repeatedly felt unwelcome for reasons we couldn't understand. I've visited other gold mines and caves and have never experienced anything quite like this. We weren't expecting special treatment, just basic courtesy and a welcoming atmosphere. It's disappointing to finally visit a place you've looked forward to for so long and leave feeling as though you weren't wanted there. The attraction itself may be worth visiting, but customer service makes a difference. Unfortunately, our experience with the staff took away from what should have been an enjoyable day.

The Haunted Forrest was a huge hit for our family this Halloween! We loved all of the animatronics…read moreand creativity in the set up! It was so fun to walk the Forrest and find all the props. The route was easy- a woman was doing it on crutches ahead of us. Our boys rated it 100/10 and we will be back next year for sure! Tim was also so nice and truly excited about his set up! This park is in downtown Placerville, CA. It's one of the prettiest neighborhood parks that I've…read moreever seen. Gorgeous aspen (or pine, one of those) trees surround the park. In its four acres is a lighted little league baseball field (home to the Hangtown League) complete with an electronic scoreboard and snack shack, play ground, picnic tables with bbq pits, and restrooms. The park is on Clark Street which is a narrow neighborhood gravel road. Drive cautiously because the street turns into hybrid part parking lot and street. On game days, the parking lot fills up quickly. When that happens, parking on Clark Street is scarce and the best bet is to park on Pacific Street and hike in. There are some handicapped parking spots located at the far end of the parking lot behind the little snack shack. From that end, there is a walking ramp that leads to all areas of the park including the walking path around the back field. So if you have folks in your group that would benefit from using the ADA ramps, it's best to unload from back there. Besides that access point, there are stairs, with hand rails, in the front parking lot. The parking lot has only one entrance and exit point. A big shout out to the Placerville Rotary Club for creating this park and helping to maintain it. Great community partnership.
