I never found this business. We took a trek using GPS and the map from Yelp and it was not there. We ended up going a couple of doors down to a different place that had waffles and gelato. We only tried the gelato because the pastries all looked kind of old. I wish I could remember the name of the shop but it was just a couple away from this address. read more

My family is visiting, and we stopped for some dessert here. We got the gelato, and it was pretty average. The serving size was small for what it is too. The space is small, and so we had to take it to go. The service was quick and friendly though. Overall, you're better off going down the road to McDonald's. read more

Walking past this shop in the evening, we watched a crepe being made and it looked so good, we were tempted to get one too. A crepe for dessert--perfect. We ordered a simple strawberry Nutella crepe. I saw the words Nutella and ran straight over even tho we had just eaten dinner and I was super full. There's generally room for dessert, right? This shop is a very extremely narrow establishment that is setup extremely poorly if there's a line: you don't know who's in line for the crepe (1st cashier-closest to the entrance) or the ice cream (2nd cashier). Plus, the standing room is only 2 people wide. Employees are very friendly though. There's a bar in the very back where around 4-6 customers can stand and enjoy their treats. Yum yum!! WAFFLES! Yay. I spent so long trying to find a place that would take credit card, and I was so relieved to have finally stumbled upon here! I got a Belgian waffle without chocolate, except the person gave me chocolate (and lots of it). I got my waffle hot off the grill, so it was so amazing! Later I went to another Ice Bakery (I can't find the Yelp page for it), and they reheated a waffle through the oven. That one was not good at all, so if you can, make sure you ask for a freshly made one. It makes all the difference in the world. If I got a fresh one the second time, I would've given the place 5 stars. But yes, yum! And they TAKE CARD!! Hooray! Unsanitary and should be shut down! Stopped in here for a snack bc we weren't too hungry but also didn't want to be hangry by the end of the tour we were about to take. We left angry instead. Waiter refused to serve us tap water claiming it was unsanitary and unsafe to drink city water. I conceded to a €3 bottle of water and my significant other a €4.50 beer. Ok. ...until a cat jumped on the lap of the girl on the bench at the table next to me and then came my way. Could a place be any more unsanitary!?!?! It is NOT ok for live animals to be INSIDE of restaurants jumping into people's laps and potentially onto tables where they're eating. I kindly asked for the water to be comped given the cat incident. They refused and were quite unkind in doing so. I paid, and left with the promise that they would get less business as a result of how they handled the situation. Especially given I'm fairly certain they made up the water excuse to take advantage of me being a tourist. Didn't notice so many Ice Bakeries in Amsterdam when I last visited (which was exactly a year ago), but I'm glad it's readily available now cuz I love Nutella! It's a place to get quick sweets fix. It's not the best dessert shop you can find in town but it's good enough for me :) read more

Hello, you delicious piece of ice cream heaven! You're brought to this place because of the sweet waffles and crepes they are making at the front of the store. I was craving macarons but as I was entering, someone walked passed me with ice cream on a waffle and I knew then, it was singing to my taste buds. I cannot tell you how amazing this treat was and if you know me, you know I do not have a sweet tooth at all. I typically will eat one spoon of ice cream and be done. Not this ice cream place!! I ordered the waffle with Mint Chocolate chip and Oreo with drizzle of white chocolate allover. The first bite was pure bliss and every bite after that was just that much better. AWFUL, STALE, PAST EXPIRY DATE, ordered a waffle, tried to pay before i sat down and was told €5. Another guy said no pay after, all very friendly, When I got my waffle it was cold and rock hard, I asked them to heat it, I don't know who eats cold, hard waffles. Came back a few seconds later and the chocolate had melted, started to eat it and It was still cold, still hard, I was really disappointed as I ate a bit more, a waiter then gave me a knife as he could see I only had a fork. Anyway, ate half the waffle as it was really horribly, stale tasting. As I was leaving I had €5 and went to till, he gave me a bill and it was total €8.50. I thought he had it wrong and charged me for drink also. I said no I'm sorry I'm not paying that. The waffle was rock hard and look at my table I'd eaten half of it. They argued no it all fresh bla bla bla, had to pay but told them I'd be leaving a review. Basically stay away from here, it was vile. I was walking the streets of Amsterdam and came across the "Ice Bakery." I ordered a plain waffle with two ice cream scoops. When I went in for my first bite of the waffle, I noticed it was a little too hard. The waffle was so hard that it was stuck on the tray. My friend and I struggle to get the waffle off the plate. However, I still ate it cause it was fire. In the future the waffles needs to be more fresh. Second issue that came to my attention, there is no WiFi. If you need to send a text with WiFi, this isn't the place. Besides that, it was good. read more

Had ice cream from here one night and macarons another. The ice cream was ok; I had Nutella, which was good, and banana, which was a super artificial banana flavor and not so good. The macarons were disgusting. They all tasted like they'd been sitting around in the case for varying amounts of time which were ALL too long. The gingerbread one was the worst out of what I had--the merengie was probably about as hard as royal icing and the taste of "been in the refrigerator too long" was so overwhelming I didn't taste ANY gingerbread. They also got our order wrong, giving us red velvet instead of raspberry and orange instead of lemon. Additionally, the fillings mostly seemed to be made of icing rather than jelly or cream, so even if they'd been fresh, they wouldn't have been very good. All in all, I would NOT recommend this place. Amsterdam has enough bakeries that you should be able to find something better. read more

I am a Nutella addict. Hence I tried their churros - if you believed churros are aged best, knock yourself out. First they were pre-baked (not best option but I had some pretty good ones before): Soaked in oil on the outside and the centre was pretty much like cardboard. Chew on leather soles and you might have the same experience. Totally tasteless. Same goes for the waffles. Pre-baked, re-heated and cardboard centre. Only good thing was the Nutella - but what can possibly go wrong with Nutella out of a jar. read more
