Delicious ice cream! I ordered two scoops in a cone. The staff were very friendly! I recommend this place!

Came here based on a strangers recommendation and eh. This was definitely better than my earlier ice cream adventure but still nothing special. The sorbet flavors are more creative but I didn't want sorbet. I tried the sesame and ordered the coffee. The coffee ice cream was okay - the coffee taste wasn't strong. The ice cream texture was good though - creamy and didn't melt in a few seconds. They take credit cards!

Even though it was cold and rainy outside, I still made my way towards this shop to grab some ice cream. I had horrible munchies and needed a sugar fix before I was on my way back to my hotel in Zaandam. The Monte Pelmo is essentially just a small shop in the northern part of central, they're right next to a popular pizza joint. I guess this place is so well known because they serve locally made Dutch ice cream, but I came because it wasn't really too far from central station. They had a good selection of flavors here, so many that it made it hard to choose. The two scoops of cookies and cream hit the spot for sure. Very creamy ice cream and tons of cookie crunch but not too much sugar, just perfect.

Really yummy ice cream! Ok the cat's out of the bag, I'm a sucker for ice cream. I actually am focusing on me healthier and eating less of it but honestly that's not working out so great for me right now. The first time I saw this place was when I went to eat at La Perla, i was too full to try it but I've been meaning to go since then. So today was my lucky day. I love their tiny scoops and their waffle cones. It's yummy you have loads to choose from and you should immediately go!

Kinder Bueno and straciatella for €2.70

Amazing ice cream!!! I got the straciatella and kinder Bueno scoops. They gave me a tiny little come on top of my ice cream. It was so cute. The ice cream was super creamy. My friend and I both really enjoyed our cones :) they have all kinds of flavors, ranging from sorbets to ice cream. So there's definitely something for everyone! I highly recommend this for all ice cream lovers! I'm certainly going back!

Small pop-in kind of place with a large selection of gelato to enjoy on a warm sunny day. It's a cool spot in the Jordaan to grab a scoop or two (or three) and keep walking to enjoy the scenery. They take pin which is nice since we don't usually carry much cash and the prices are reasonable. Quick service, lots of choices, and a signature cone crisp on top, perfect combination! Fortunately (or unfortunately) for us, it's close by, so I'll keep you undated if anything big changes happen. ;)

Stroowafle atop Malaga (rum raisin) in a cone. Sooo good!

Plenty of flavors to choose from! I a scoop of the Malaga (which I think is rum raisin in the states) and a scoop of stroopwafle in a cone. Amazing. It was the best rum raisin I've had, and that's my go to. Definitely worth a try, even when it's 48F/9C!

Good flavors and fast service. Good location to grab an ice cream cone and walk around.

    Behold the flavors!

Great selection of flavors, very good prices. Find it hard to think of reasons not to stop in on a daily basis.

No shortage of fantastic flavours but a lot of them were in Dutch. Not too expensive and a few seats outside to enjoy your ice cream.

The ice cream here is light, fluffy, and very creamy; the texture is one the most unique textures in ice cream I've experienced where it almost had a bounciness to it. I'm the type of person who chooses to get Sweet Cream flavored ice cream, so I loved the flavor of my scoop; so if you enjoy the flavor of milk for heavy cream, I feel like you'd enjoy this cone. The shop is very small and has a pretty long line. It moves pretty fast for such a small operation; we waited about 5 min from the end of the line to the scooping process. The service is very efficient and no-nonsense. I think this is a fun experience overall and would recommend!

I hate this place and I do so for several reasons but let me first talk about the good things…read morebecause they do have some of those. The good: The plain yogurt flavor tastes OK, albeit too sweet. They have LOTS of different kinds of toppings, way more than any other froyo place in Amsterdam. They have fruits and nuts, candies and chocolates, and all kinds of gooey toppings such as caramel and peanut butter and much more. You don't pay per topping but you pay for the total weight of your big, deep and wide cup. You decide how much yogurt, which yogurt, how much toppings and which toppings and then you weigh and pay it. The fruits always look fresh. The bad: The yogurt is too sweet. The Italian chick who works there is so extremely annoying. We've been there many times (because of my girlfriend, she seems to love it) and every time she, the Italian girl who works there, is up in our face asking if we know how it works. We say we do, she asks again, we answer again, she asks one more time and we answer one more time and then she starts explaining the whole process anyway. That is SO annoying!!! Moreover, if you stay there and eat your froyo, you have to hear her do this to EVERY. EFFING. CUSTOMER. That's not even the worst of it all... the worst part is: she shouts and yells EVERYTHING! This woman is amazingly annoying. My girlfriend loves this place and even she mentions how annoying she is every time we go there. That's not the only reason this place gets 2 stars from me. What also annoys me is that this place (in the beginning more so than now) actively advertises LOW FAT yogurt... which is bullshit because yogurt fats are actually good fats and can be very beneficial to a person, even a person on a diet. What they fail the mention is the crazy amount of refined sugars that is in the yogurt. Refined sugars are far, far worse than natural fats and the body treats them as poison (for example, check out "Sugar: The Bitter Truth" on YouTube if you're interested). The only reason I see for anyone to go here is the array of toppings they offer.

There are like 8 flavours of ice-cream you can choose from. I tried chocolate and vanilla. Also there are many toppings. I had blueberries, raspberries and chocolate crumbles. Because you have to do everything yourself here and the weight your stuff in the end it can get really pricey, so don't take to much. Also, you have to pay for every topping even though they present them like they are free. I had to pay 4,70 euros in the end. The ice-cream tasted fine, the toppings are also okay. So this is a decent place to get your ice-cream when in the neighbourhood. The stuff is also nothing special though and very pricey so I would rather go somewhere else next time. Like getting a few scoops at Haagen Dazs.

We went on a weekend when they exclusively serve their famous apple pie, and while the lines can get pretty long, ours actually moved very quickly. The setup is a bit of a hustle: you order at the counter, pay, and then have to hunt for a table (they have seating indoors and outdoors) while balancing your food. Finding an open spot can definitely be a challenge, but we got incredibly lucky and snagged a seat at a communal table right as our plates were handed to us. Logistics aside, the pie is entirely worth it. It's honestly one of the best I've ever had. The crust is beautifully buttery and crumbly, and the warm apples have the absolute perfect texture--a brilliant balance of sweet and tart. It's not overly sweet on its own, but with a generous mountain of whipped cream and a hot coffee, it made for a wonderfully rich afternoon snack. I know a lot of people rave about their chocolate milk too, but the coffee pairing was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend braving the line for this!
