Used to stop by here all the time when I was at UTA. Great place to study, catch up with friends, or even have some alone time! Food: Great portions for the price, which is awesome for college students. The quality is so-so, especially the sushi, but they offer extensive items ranging from bento boxes, udon and sushi! I typically get the fried rice or udon, however it's kind of oily for my preference. The bento boxes are great for variety and price. If I feel like splurging, then I opt for the spicy tuna tower :) Drinks: All time favorite is the iced coffee with milk and coffee jelly!! I've recommended it to all my friends and they were equally impressed. Other options that I'd like to get is any of the milk teas. The smoothies and slushes I'm not too big of a fan, however. Tastes too syrupy to my liking. Restaurant: Came back recently after graduating, and it looks like they've rearranged their seating and added more private booths. The restaurant can be quiet or loud, depending on the customers. Sometimes there's large groups and it tends to get noisy cause the place has an echo. If you prefer a super quiet place like the 4th floor library to study, then this won't be the place for you. I'd say it can be a little bit louder compared to the second floor of the Central Library. Occasionally, it might be difficult to find a table during peak hours. Service: No complaints whatsoever. I always go in on Mondays and Wednesdays and the staff in the evenings are so nice and friendly. They always give me suggestions on food and drinks. At this point I tell them to mix whatever they feel like and I have never had a bad drink from them. I have gone in on other days and the other staff is never quite as friendly, it's always hit or miss. The ambiance is always super chill and is a really good place to study in a group. They always have music and have multiple TVs, they also have magazines and a manga shelf. read more

First, let me tell you. It is a damn jigsaw puzzle to figure out how to get into their parking lot. If you miss it, and have to loop around three times, don't feel stupid. This happens to everyone who comes here. There is only one Cooper side entrance. I can only comment on their sushi, even though I know they also serve ramen. Their sushi is pretty decent- and that comes as a huge surprise for a tea house/ study spot! I usually get their Spicy Tuna tower- rivals the Domo Tower at Sushi Domo in my opinion. I'm usually not a fan of sushi with bunch of sauces (Americanized sushi, for all the hipsters out there), but the freshness of the salmon and avocado actually mix in with the flavor of the sauces pretty well. Their rainbow rolls are delicious. The sushi tastes freshly made, and even though it seems super duper sketchy, I promise it's safe. Their tea selection is pretty typical for a tea place. Well made tea- not super syrupy like other places. It won't blow your mind, but it won't make you regret paying four dollars for it. I love this place and used to be a regular here. The ONLY thing is that it smells pretty weird inside. Eventually your brain blocks it out the longer you stay in, but??? When I lived in Arlington, I often went to iCafe. This is the best place to study and there are so many people you can meet up with. The food is cooked very well and the staff is super nice. I have tried the tonkatsu ramen and the shoyu ramen and both left me wanting a bit more. The tonkatsu ramen came with an egg and a piece of pork. The egg was overcooked and the pork seemed a bit dry. I do like how they cook their noodle here but that didn't make up for the bland broth. I was hoping for more flavor. The shoyu ramen wash't any more flavorful. I was pretty excited about snowflake ice when I ordered it. It's really sweet so be prepared for that if you intend to get it. The only flavor available that day was taro so that's what I got. It was topped with various jellies including my favorite, grass jelly. It's pretty big so it's definitely worth it. I just wish it was a little less sweet. I've tried their house milk tea hot and cold and I must admit- I'm not a fan of either. I don't know if it's the type of tea they use but it just tastes different to me. I guess I'm used to other milk tea formulas. I really wanted to like this place but there were just so many things that will keep me from returning. The parking situation is a bit crazy here. If the lot is full, you're kind of screwed. The area to the left of restaurant smells funny. I am not sure if it's because it's near the restroom and there are some plumbing issues but man.. there was just a funky smell that distracted me from studying. If you do choose to come here, I recommend you sit in the main area. I sat there the first time I was here and didn't encounter the smell. Overall, I really wanted to like this place. Food review is for tonkotsu ramen only: It would seem obvious that for those acquainted with real, fantastic ramen (I am talking about Daikokuya or Shinsengumi in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo) this is an extremely pale comparison. But! I wanted to give it a try JUST IN CASE it ended up being a fabulous hole in the wall Arlington secret. It's not. It's not terrible, but it certainly isn't flavorful like the great places. I would almost even add that I could make a better ramen dish with my "making cheap spicy ramen delicious/imitation of Shinsengumi" secret recipe (not that secret, if you message me I'll tell you). So yeah. The ramen is middle of the road - serviceable but I wouldn't seek it out for those ramen cravings. The service is good. The only other weird thing I noticed is that in both times I've come there has been a gross sewage smell permeating the place. I'm not sure if it is because it is downwind of some treatment plant, etc., but it does bother me a bit. read more

This restaurant is definitely very interesting. cafe/restaurant that offers a variety. I've been to icafe about 5 times, and i've only gone for one thing and one thing only; Tonkotsu Ramen. (the best hang over remedy lol) Reason why I didn't give it a better star rating: Inconsistency. The last time I was here with my two girlfriends, they screwed up our order. The 3 of us ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. My Bowl: Perfect. didn't miss a single ingredient. even came out with the chili oil like i asked. great! Val's bowl: she asked for no bean sprouts.got no bean sprouts, no egg, and no bok choy. Kellys bowl: also got no bean sprouts (although she had no special requests, just a simple bowl of tonkotsu), also had no egg and no bokchoy. - when we told the server their bowls came with no eggs or bokchoy, she looked confused and ran to the back. this made us wonder... does this mean shes going in the back to get it for us, or...?? so we waited patiently. server comes out with ONE egg for TWO bowls. we politely remind her that TWO bowls didnt get the egg. 5 minutes later she comes back out to ask us.."so... both bowls didnt have an egg?" and we simply said... right.... neither of them did. so she goes back, gets her manager/owner/whatever to come to our table and ask us AGAIN. "so these two bowls didnt get an egg."....we replied, for the millionth time -- yes.... finally... they come back out with an egg for each bowl and doesn't apoligize for the inconveneice or the mistake that they made. she simply placed the egg on the table and walked away. weird. =P they also never corrected the no bokchoy and no bean sprouts issue, either. by that time i think we were just ready to go. lol over all, i dont expect great customer service from this place but it would be nice to get the usual ingredients in a ramen bowl =P read more

I have been wanting to try this So I came in at lunch. I ordered teriyaki chicken. I changed to fried rice with no veggies. Not sure why so many no longer serve brown rice. It took some discussing to explain no peas or carrots filler in my fried rice. When I got it they did as ordered. Mostly. There was one big carrot in it but I cut that to the side. The good: people are friendly and eager to please. The tea was good (green unsweetened) and the teriyaki sauce was really good. The menu is extensive. The bad: the chicken used in this dish is probably the cheapest I have ever had. Two pieces were edible. The rest had grizzle or bone. Not sure: they must get a bunch of take out. Never ate somewhere that automatically put plastic over your drink. read more

The reason why I gave this place 2 stars is because their staffs are actually really friendly! THATS IT! I really love the milk teas here, especially the green milk tea! A lot of other boba teahouses use lots of powder and you get this weird aftertaste in your mouth. This place actually uses fragrant tea. The green milk tea smells and tastes like jasmine. Love!!! I'm always craving the milk tea here because it's so good. I usually ask them to half the sugar/syrup because I don't like my milk teas to be too sweet. They offer a huge variety of drinks, but I tend to stick to ordering green milk tea. My sister always orders the assam milk tea, which is also really good. I've tried their ramen, bento, and a few of their other dishes here. The food here is average, but not terrible. If I were still in college, I'd probably eat here all the time since there's Wifi, decent food, and really good boba drinks. If you order one of their entrees, you get a free milk tea with it! The one thing that really bums me out about this place is that they are closed on Saturdays. I feel like they're losing out on a lot of business by not being open on Saturdays, especially since I find myself craving boba on Saturday and then have to remind myself that I can't come here since they're closed. read more

The name makes you think it's an internet cafe, but look again. It's actually more of a cafe with free wi-fi for it's patrons. A lot of people like to compare it to the other place but each has it's own special things. A few similar dishes but iCafe has more of a Japanese flair to them. The interior is very nice and clean. Modern with private booths on one side and a large bench and chairs on the other side. Great for big groups. Since it's so close to UTA, sometimes it can get quite packed/loud. However, I usually go during off times and it is very nice and peaceful. Now onto the food! I love most of everything I have tried here. The only complaint is that the portions are small (but I do eat a lot). I usually end up ordering an appetizer, and sometimes two entrees just to fill me up. Pan-fried Gyoza ??: Don't know why there are two question marks after the name on the menu, but it makes saying it fun! One word. DELICIOUS! I can't remember another dumpling that I have had that was this good. Very juicy, great flavor and comes with a pretty awesome dipping sauce. 5/5 Chicken Karaage: Great flavor but a bit dry for my taste. Was quite hard to chew. Could have been a bad batch as my friends have recommended this appetizer to me before. 3/5 Minced Pork Rice: A slightly sweet and salty minced pork dish. Comes with an egg and veggies. Great, flavorful. The minced pork is not dry at all. 4/5 Stewed Pork Rice: Sliced stewed pork with the same sides as the previous dish. Quite salty for my taste but very tender. 3/5 Chicken Katsu/Tonkatsu: These both come in a Chef's Special and in a bento box. I usually get the entree since I order other things as well. Tonkatsu is a fried pork cutlet and Chicken Katsu.. well you should know from the name. I really like the Katsu sauce that they have. It is sweet, so for the one's who like a more sour sauce, be prepared. Dumplings and california roll comes with the bento. 4/5 Breaded Japanese Curry (Pork or Chicken): I have only tried the chicken. It is not your typical Japanese Curry smothered and drenched in curry (the way I'm used to). However, the sauce is very flavorful, so a drizzle of that stuff is plenty to flavor your dish. The curry has peas in it, which I find weird. Since I've had really good Japanese curries in my day, the score is low. (It is pretty good for what you can get in Arlington though... unless you come to my house.) Portion is pretty small. 3.5/5 Tonkotsu Ramen: Not to be confused with "Tonkatsu", which means Fried Pork Cutlet. Tonkotsu is a broth made from pork bones. It has a wonderful creamy flavor and a milky colored broth. So far, this is the best Tonkotsu I have found in the area, though it does not have the traditional pork belly minced pieces suspended in the broth. The pork slices that come with it are also delicious. One thing that bothers me is that the egg is just a normal hardboiled egg. 4/5 California Roll: Normal California roll. Shredded crab instead of the standard stick rolled up. Love it that way. 4/5 Boba! Their boba is pretty good. Haven't had a bad batch yet. The only thing that annoys me sometimes is that the drinks aren't cold enough and would not have enough ice to cool it further at the table. This can easily be solved if they shook the drink in a little more ice before pouring it into the cups. Assam Milk Tea: Delicious, sweet and refreshing. 5/5 Coffee Milk Tea: A little weird on the flavor. Too little coffee taste, too much tea taste. 3/5 Yoshi Milk Tea: A special, secret drink not on the menu. Created by the guy who wears the name tag "Mr. Paco." Delicious, very sweet milk tea with a light honeydew taste. 5/5 I've tried quite a few more items on the menu but cannot remember them in full detail so I will save those for another day after I get a fresh tasting. read more

Interesting place. The name really doesn't tell you anything about it. It does have free wi-fi, as the "I" in the name suggests. I looked for the connection but didn't see it. Maybe you have to ask someone. I wasn't there to use their internet so I just ignored it. The atmosphere is nice and clean. It wasn't packed at all for a Friday night. Although I was surprised to see a place that targets UTA students doesn't have bike parking. Luckily, once you see the menu it becomes obvious that this is Japanese food. I tried the Yaki Udon, it comes with chicken, beef, and shrimp on top of noodles. There is a picture here on Yelp of it. It was quite filling but didn't really excite me with it's taste. Since I am a Yelper, I decided to try a sushi roll too. The Rainbow Roll had a good sampling of fish. I think it falls somewhere above grocery store sushi but below other great places. We also ordered Tempura Vegetables as an appetizer but it didn't come out until after of entrees. I would probably skip them next time, as they didn't add much to our meal. Our entrees came with free Milk Tea. I had the Black Milk Tea. It was good, but I'm not too crazy about milk so I didn't finish it. Another thing to note was that they had TV's but they had them tuned to the oddest channels. One had an infomercial, another had some random old movie (not too great without audio). read more

This place is bright, clean, cute and the service was really wonderful! My husband and I shared the Yaki Udon noodles and we both thought it was delicious. It came with a free milk tea (although it would have been nice if it included boba as well, like at Bethany's Cafe). I love the fact that they offer free wi-fi and are located so close to the university. They offer quite a variety of dishes. I will definitely be back to try one of their bento boxes! It seems like a great place to meet up with friends and hang out of if you're looking for a quiet place to study, they have tables in the back as well. I drive by this place everyday and decided to try it out. I didn't really know what to expect but was as soon as I walked in I noticed at how clean it was. The decor and ambience is really nice and assumed that it's a great study spot. The food was really weird and just seemed like they were kind of inexperienced in the kitchen. My boyfriend got some curry dish and it tasted bland so when we got home we added some salsa fresca to make the dish edible. Came here with a few friends after class. We come here for the cheap and filling food! As soon as you walk in, there are seats to the right and the left of the cafe - most seats are booths with some tables. I noticed that you get a free drink (select few) with your entree, so I got the Japanese breaded curry chicken with milk tea. I didn't know they charged extra for boba (0.50) but I didn't mind at all. The milk tea wasn't too sweet but it was a bit bland on tea flavor. The food wasn't anything amazing, but you do get your money's worth for something so cheap. They have free wifi and some computers! I felt like I was talking to an emotionless robot when ordering my food... Customers are required to tip at least 18% before being served. But waiters/waitresses never showed up to check on me. I popped in to try one of their milk teas after class. I got the Thai Milk Tea. It was fresh and tasted really good. It wasn't powdery, so that was a definite plus.
