It was small yet cozy. As for the food, it was buffet style... good, but not lavishly good. Could be what the groom & bride chose rather than a menu option. Nontheless, this was a fun night and great experience. FYI: On site valet service for parking.

We had visited this place in January and fell in love with it, and thought that it was perfect due to the view of the water, and the cocktail hour as well as ballroom plus the bar. Also due to large families on both sides, we were looking at catering halls to have my dad's party at. It was a perfect setup! This was also the first place we went to while party planning, and the one we decided on, ultimately due to price. Can't remember the name of the person who helped us, but very communicative and understood our needs. My only suggestion is to maybe provide the planning people to try their food. He listened to our needs, and was accommodating, which is important. Even threw in cocktail hour options for us. Party day was Saturday May 10th 2025. Loved the outdoor area as being outside was enjoyable. Cocktail hour was also enjoyable with foods like chicken dumpling, coconut shrimp, and more! They had plenty of cold stuff like pasta salads, salad, butternut squash, and some fruit. Only feedback is maybe more items like potato salad, maybe have some of the hot items so that people can just get up and get more. then came time to be inside the ballroom-- and it was beautiful and big! There was dancing, cocktails, and fun galore. Loved my shirley temple that i ordered-- with the waitress. Speaking about the waitresses, they were very pleasant- however, they did take items off the table that maybe someone wasn't done with that item. Trust me, i've been a server at a restaurant- silent serving is a thing, but never assume someone is done, or take their plates without asking. that's my only feedback-- oh and my mom asked that the favors be on the tables, and there was 2: a bottle opener, and something else plus a pen. My mom asked to evenly spread out throughout the tables, but some people got the same favors..... okay. Maybe whoever did that didn't know that there was 2 different items. anyways. Food was also very good: our option was menu options with pasta, which was penne ala vodka, salad, and an entree choice of figlet magion, salmon, and chicken sambolka. There are more options for the dinner, but we chose that. Food was very good, and lots of people like their food. I liked the salmon, for instance. others like their steak, although the lighting made it look well-done when they ordered medium! lol Sundae bar was the best, but there should have been more toppings like gummy bears, or worms, chocolate syrup, whipped cream! Athough kudos that they had both vanila and chocolate ice cream. Cake was also very good and moist too! Loved it here and highly recommend!

The bi-level bar and lounge was dark, swanky, and seductive. It would make an excellent spot for dates or groups of friends, like mine. We started off sitting at the bar, as there were no large tables available upon our arrival. However, after about 15 minutes, the host approached to tell us that he could actually seat us. I picked up my glass, which was wet with condensation, and it slipped out of my hands. I was able to collect it with only a minor spill, but the host insisted that the bar staff make me a new cocktail in case the glass had chipped at all. It was a considerate gesture that I greatly appreciated. Plus, since I had already taken a few sips, I was thrilled to get those back in a new glass! In terms of my cocktail of choice, I had opted for the Hot Tijuana Tease, a fiery blend of mezcal, blanco tequila, chile poblano liqueur, and lime juice. So, it was essentially a spicy margarita, and it was excellent. There were clean, crisp notes of peppery heat balanced with layers of robust smoke. My only complaint about the lounge was that the bathrooms were beyond tiny. There were two unisex stalls in a very tight alcove that also included a cramped sink counter. It was awkward and uncomfortable to share that space with another patron. Aside from that, the Hide Rooftop was a beautiful place with a friendly staff and interesting drinks.

The employees that worked our wedding went above and beyond to make it a special day too. The food and drinks were perfection - everything was delicious! Many of our 55 guests remarked on the venue, and how stylish it was. We began the evening with cocktails and a jazz trio on The Roof, and then moved into the air conditioning in The House for dinner and dancing with an 11 piece band. Our guests continued to use The Roof when they needed a break from the band. The food was also excellent. Many of our guests remarked on its quality, including some who had their own catering businesses. We found Bridget Ann and Kaelan very easy to work with, and there were no last minute surprises. The staff was friendly and competent. All of our needs were anticipated, the costs were as advertised, and the evening went off without a hitch. We could not be happier with out choice to have our event at The Village with Bridget Ann and Kaelan.

She was responsive, understanding, and flexible throughout the booking process that we truly appreciated. As we got closer to the wedding, Ralph became our main point of contact and he was our Maitre'D. He was incredibly communicative, practical, and reassuring. He helped us work through the last-minute changes and was always focused on finding a solution. We originally chose Whitby Castle because having an outdoor ceremony on the grounds was part of our dream. Unfortunately, due to an intense heatwave, we moved the ceremony indoors at the last minute. I was nervous that it would not have the same feeling, but the space felt elegant, intimate, and beautiful, and our photographs still captured everything we loved. There were a few hiccups throughout the day as well, but the venue including Ralph and Rosa (bridal attendant) remained accommodating and worked well with every one of our vendors to keep things moving. They took care of us that day in moments where no one else was paying attention, and we are eternally thankful to them for that. Whitby Castle is a stunning venue, but also one with a team that genuinely tries to support its couples. We are very grateful to Niki, Ralph, Rosa, and the entire Whitby Castle team for helping bring our wedding together.

Booking was straightforward and easy thanks to Ralph and Niki. On the day of the wedding, Roxy and Rosa kept everything moving exactly on schedule. Their coordination ensured that we didn't have to worry about the timeline, and the entire event ran smoothly from start to finish. The food was a major highlight. The chef did an excellent job, and the quality was consistent across every course. He personally talked to each of our guests as well. Our guests were genuinely impressed--we're still getting compliments about the meal months later, which speaks for itself. We chose to use their vendor package and were very happy with that decision. It significantly simplified the planning process, and the results were exactly what we had hoped for. Overall, Whitby Castle delivered a fantastic day. It's a beautiful spot, but the service and the kitchen are what really set it apart. Highly recommended.

Our day started with a Chinese tea ceremony in the barn and then a catered lunch. About 6:30pm, the ceremony with a live music started followed by passed hors d'oeuvre, fresh oysters, and wood fired pizza. The wood fired pizza was very delicious and I enjoyed the blackened shrimp and the arancini. I tried the cider and the rosé, but they were too dry for my taste. Then at 7:45pm, we went into the reception pavilion. The menu consisted of a salad as first course, a duet plate of salmon and beef short rib for entree, and dessert. The summer citrus salmon with the multi grain pilaf was very good. After first dance, father and daughter dance, mother and son dance, and speeches, the DJ told us to step outside. After a few minutes, the sky exploded with light. It was a beautiful fireworks display from the hillside. The bathrooms were stocked with essentials in the toiletry baskets. Red Maple Vineyard offers a rustic barn and reception pavilion, massive green grounds, and a beautiful garden.

Even had an upstairs part where one can hang out if a person wants to. We met with a person who is no longer working there, but she was very nice. There are lots of options if one is planning a party: there are breakfast/brunch options, a buffet option, and a sit down option. We would have done a sit down option, which included salad, pasta, fish, steak and chicken dishes. (ask for a sit down menu for specifics) Including options like an open bar. We also checked the restroom, which was clean, and was big and roomy. It is also a little more on the expensive side. While we decided on another venue, I really liked this one despite not really being on the water, but having a small waterfall from the view of the window.
