Prime Performance Pasadena - Raffi

Prime Performance Pasadena

I've been researching personal training in my area and I found Raffi and omg he is an amazing…read moretrainer. He came to my complex and was very knowledgeable, considerate and encouraging. He really knew how to work with my body type and my goals. Ive been trying to get more lean and cut and he organized a workout that best suited my needs. Very friendly and I felt safe with him training me. I definitely will be training regularly with him for now on. Thank you so much! Much love and gratitude

I heavily considered not leaving a review because I feared criticism from the trainer, but I felt…read moreso bad after our trial session that I felt the need to say something. Our session was good, but I needed time to deliberate before moving forward - it was a bit commitment and I needed some time to reflect. The trainer got incredibly heated, first going on about how great his services were compared to everyone else and then shaming me for not committing on the spot and wasting his time. I let the trainer know that I am unemployed and rely on my parents for financial support, so I needed to deliberate with them before proceeding further. I felt belittled for communicating my needs, and received harsh criticism from the trainer about being "a waste of time." It should be noted that on the website, the first session is advertised as a "no obligation free workout." But the session took place in a paid gym. He paid for the day pass, which I was very grateful for, but upon completion, I refunded the money back. Still, I continued to receive verbal abuse from the trainer post session (see screenshot below) Final thoughts: don't offer no-commitment complimentary sessions on your website if you're gonna accuse people of wasting your time and shame clients. UPDATE: I've continued to be harassed by the trainer. Completely unprofessional.

Rudy Personal Trainer

I needed to get stronger and build more muscle. I have experience with fitness, so I needed someone…read morewho wouldn't just teach me basics but would push me to my fullest potential. Rudy does exactly that. He also pays attention to every detail--form, nutrition, and proper programming. He didn't just give me a meal plan; he explained how to fuel my body for recovery and performance, adjusting macros based on my progress and how I felt each week. That alone made a huge difference in my energy during heavy lifts. Where Rudy really shines is powerlifting-focused strength building. He broke down each compound lift--squat, bench, deadlift--fixing small form inefficiencies which helped me prevent and recover from nagging injuries. Rudy pushes me past my limits. On days when I thought I had nothing left, he'd adjust the weight or rep scheme just enough to force an extra quality set. He knows exactly when to add intensity and when to pull back, which built my mental toughness without breaking me down. Thanks to his coaching, I've hit PRs I didn't think were possible six months ago. Whether you are an experienced athlete or a beginner, look no further.

I've been going to the gym for years, but honestly, I always felt a little lost when it came to my…read moreform and exactly how to handle my calories and macros. That all changed when I started training with Rudy at his private spot in Pasadena about two months ago. Rudy is just the best--he's become a total friend and is so easy to talk to. He's incredibly kind and never tries to "oversell" you on anything. What I love most is that he's a total pro who doesn't talk down to you; he just breaks down the science behind the "why" so everything actually makes sense. He doesn't sugarcoat the truth, but he's always there throughout the day with check-ins and encouragement to keep me moving. The results have been such an eye-opener! I was really frustrated that my weight loss had stalled, but Rudy helped me figure out how to drop the weight safely and consistently--without ever feeling like I was starving. In just two months, I'm already down about 9 pounds of fat and successfully recomping at the same time. The biggest surprise, though? Discovering what I'm actually capable of! I had no idea I was this strong, but with his structured program, I just hit a massive milestone: deadlifting 185 lbs for 5 reps! Beyond the lifting, his knowledge of hormonal health and wellness has been a total game-changer for my energy levels. He's so passionate about what he does and truly goes the extra mile to tailor everything to you. If you want a trainer in Pasadena who actually knows his stuff and cares about your progress, Rudy is definitely your guy!

Joining Shark Boxing is the best decision that I made in 2025. All the coaches are super friendly,…read moreknowledgable, helpful and badass. The classes are very fun and beginner friendly yet challenging. Each coach has their own style of teaching and will go through different combo exercises and conditioning workout. The coaches adjust the level of difficulty based on the level of students that show up for that specific class. Regardless what the level of student, each class will guarantee an amazing workout that pushes the mind(learning different boxing skills) and the body. The gym is very clean and has a small free weights section attached to it. Not only can one improve his/her boxing skill, one can lift weights and get stronger and fitter as well. All coaches are very qualified. Some have been boxing for decades and some are pro fighters. I have taken some private classes. I had nothing but amazing sessions. The price is very reasonable as well. $150 for basic gym membership which includes all classes and all access to the entire gym. $250 is the next level up which is what I have. It includes two 1hr private sessions per months which is easily $200 plus at other boxing gyms. Also, a pair of hand wraps and boxing gloves will be provided when signing up. Another $100 value. Personally, I lost 25 lbs since I joined the gym and on my way to my first sparring session. Shark Boxing is just AWESOME!!! For anyone who is hesitating, don't. You won't regret join this gym.

I recently tried the free introductory training session, and I left with a whole new level of…read morerespect for boxing and the dedication it takes to reach the level of fitness that boxers maintain. The experience was motivating, challenging, and inspiring enough that I've already decided to come back, join, and continue learning. Although it's a smaller gym, the personalized attention, focus on technique, and overall quality of training far exceed what you often find at larger franchise gyms. The coaches clearly care about each person's progress, and that level of detail makes a huge difference. I would highly recommend anyone interested in boxing or improving their fitness to give this gym a try--you'll be impressed from the very first session.
