In the nine days of being in Sydney, we ate from I Love Pho twice, once via delivery and once at the restaurant. It was so delicious and fresh both times. I love Pho is not only the name of the restaurant we visited but a true statement of our feelings towards it. Situated in the heart of Crows Nest is this Gem of a Vietnamese restaurant, serving up tasty traditional cusine. The restaurant also has a traditional aesthetic look and feel which also reflects the style of food. With bamboo lining the walls and Vietnamese themed art, it feels welcoming and genuine. The service was prompt and super friendly and our waiter was extremely charismatic. Upon looking at the menu it was nice to see this restaurant is involved with a charity that helps the children of Vietnam, with 50c from every meal going towards building schools in regional areas. It is wonderful and is inspiring to see that this restaurant gives back. The menu items sport a list of Vietnamese favourites with an emphasis on flavour. For starters, we couldn't go past their amazing spring rolls with a crispy rice paper shell filled with a flavoursome pork filling. We also tried the warm freshly steamed rice paper rolls too. The sugarcane prawns are another good option. There is a nice subtle sweetness from the prawn paste and the sugarcane, which itself also edible and provides some texture. A new addition to the menu are the signature bao bun with crispy pork. Highly recommend as an entree choice. Bun Xeo is always on the hit list, Especially the roast duck variety of this crispy Vietnamese pancake/crepe which stems from the French colonial influence. This was a great version of this dish with a crepe that was nice and crisp, and this is not always the case when we have ordered this dish at other places. Plenty of filling beansprouts and roast duck, as well as mint and salad on the side and also comes with a sweet and sour sauce for added flavour. This was a return visit, on the initial visit we had Pho on our mind, the rich flavour of Hoi'an style broth brewed for 24 hours and it certainly hit the mark. This time I had another delicious soup on my mind. A soup with a bit of spice, the Bun bo hue. The Bun bo hue was on point the soup having done its time to develop rich flavour and had a nice amount of spice. This soup is not only tasty, it was also quite filling with plenty of meat and noodles. The vermicelli bowl which came with BBQ pork skewers and a flavour packed marinated pork was also a generous serve. The pork this time had a lot more flavour than most, probably one of our favourites. I love Pho is a great Vienamese restraunt serving quality traditional Vietnamese cuisine. The food is reasonably priced, the servings are large and the service friendly. Well worth a visit and we will be back. read more

I kind of thought (hoped?) this would be some kind of giant shrine to pho, with nothing but pho on the menu - a thousand and one different types! - and trophies and ornamental things dripping from every roof and windowsill, maybe some kind of pho stuffed toys and tchochkes available for purchase. As it stands, it's a Vietnamese restaurant. Surprise! I was under the weather with some crap flu courtesy of my brother-in-law who dropped it on me then flew away to America so I couldn't thank him for the courtesy with a junk punch, and pretty much all I could stomach was the light broth of some sweet pho goodness. It's not the cheapest - around $14 - but it's a real big serving and they don't skimp in the noodles, beef, bean shoots or mint. Could have done with some fresh chilli but that's my fault for not getting in on that action. read more

Best Vietnamese my man and I have tasted. Classy, beautiful imaginative dishes with freshness and depth of flavor rare to find. Be warned. Looks are deceiving. Well you know you should never judge a book by its cover and we so often do don't we. The place doesn't look like it could deliver great food we were so glad to be wrong wrong wrong. So much new food to choose from on the menu. We took a stab and tried our luck with a pancake of seafood - which turned out to be an ace decision - it was so crisp, light and delectable. It kind of reminded us both of an Indian dosai which we love. Then for mains we had Stir fry Lemongrass Beef ,and also a Caramelised Fish with pork. Oh my! Delicate and delicious! After our meal when my husband went to the counter to pay he was chatting to the staff saying our usual "hope you can keep up the great food service quality bla bla bla" and the gal serving said 'We want to keep making it better". We shared three entrees - vegetarian spring rolls which looked liked they were fried in a pan resulting in a very crispy outer layer dulling the taste of the actually filling. The other choices were warm rice paper rolls; chicken & pork. These were okay but not much flavour without a sauce. Main choices were chicken with ginger & lemon grass and a beef with snow peas dish. Again disappointing with both dishes actually tasting very similar as if the same 'base' was used. We didn't finish either dish, nor the steamed rice. The wine list was also very limiting. I'm giving three because the staff were very friendly and attentive. Really should be 2.5 to be honest. It's not just about the pho. This gorgeous little restaurant in Crows Nest is no one hit wonder. We enjoyed a delicious mid week meal featuring Salt & Pepper Tofu, Green Papaya Salad With Crispy Pork, Vietnamese Crispy Pancake, Stir Fried Morning Glory, Crispy Pork Belly With Steamed Kailan Vegetables, Crispy Skinned Chicken, and Seafood Hotpot. Served with steamed rice to mop up the delicious sauces. With quality ingredients and clean flavours, every dish was a delight. The menu offers an extensive choice of appetisers, salads, meat, seafood, noodle and rice dishes, plus of course pho. What is common to all is that they are completely gluten free dishes. I'll caveat my review by saying that the only times I have had pho is at this restaurant, so I have nothing to compare it to. Having said that, I really enjoyed it! The pho tasted great and so did the pork balls that came with it. It is a huge serving so I was full on one serving with no sides. Another time, I had the shared entree with my dining partner, some DIY rice paper rolls. The fillings came on their own large platter - and we were so full we couldn't finish our pho! The entree is a meal in itself. Decor is modern Asian and trendy. On Saturdays there is a live musician sitting by the door, singing and strumming his guitar. Really great value - dinner for $14. I Love Pho. Sadly this place does not. There is no love to be found within the walls of this newcomer to the Crows Nest strip. $14.90 for Bun Bo Hue at lunch time is daylight robbery as far as I am concerned. Especially considering that their attempt at the iconic Vietnamese spicy soup was a bowl of hot dishwater loaded with pieces of gristly, week old roast beef. It was, hands down, the worst BBH I have tasted. The "crispy" spring rolls should be re-listed on the menu as oil soaked sponges. The "Shredded Chicken" Pho Ga was gag worthy. The gamey broth contained a few surprise pieces of gelatinous, boiled, chicken skin. And whilst thar would be perfectly acceptable for 30,000 VND ($1.50) on the streets of Hanoi, when paying $12 for a bowl of chicken noodle soup I expect some guddam quality control. Do yourself a favour and try any of the four other Vietnamese places in Crowie before giving this mob any of your hard earned scratch. read more

I'm often very disappointed by Vietnamese restaurants especially outside of areas such as Cabramatta and Canley Heights. However, I Love Pho was a pleasant surprise. I didn't have the pho (though I'll definitely be coming back to try it) opting instead for the spicy beef noodle soup. It tasted pretty authentic and pretty safisfying overall. The price ($13) was also really reasonable for the Crows Nest strip and service was decent too. It's a must try if craving Vietnamese in the lower North Shore. read more

Great little Vietnamese place. Nobody on our table had pho (judging by the name we probably should have), but we loved everything else. Staff were extremely accommodating, always checking to see how everything was. This place gets busy on Fridays though so make sure you book ahead. Overall top place. read more

After reading all the rave reviews online I was expecting a pretty fabulous bowl of pho but alas, it was not to be. I'm not going to tear it apart as it was perfectly edible but the usual orgasmic groanings that normally accompany my every mouthful of pho-done-well were decidedly absent, probably very much to the relief of my boss and the lunchtime crowd. A pleasurable 'mmmm' could be heard from our table when we had the marinated chicken noodle salad as it was excellent but I was there for the pho, man. It's called 'I Love Pho' for chrissake, how could I not be there for that flavour-packed, spicy, herby, hot, beefy bowl of deliciousness?? Best Vietnamese food on the North Shore I've tasted (to-date). Although the restaurant isn't flash, it is comfortable and clean. Located in the heart of Crows Nest amongst other eaterys, this restaurant is always busy! Food portions are ample, taste is authentic and service is prompt. I recommend the rare beef Pho (obviously!). The warm rice paper rolls are also good, and the sizzling foods seem to be popular. read more

Massive fan of this place, which I have no doubt has contributed to the demise of many nearby Chinese Restaurants as the Australian palette looks for something more than the slap up westernized Chinese. 'I Love Pho" makes you really say "I Love Pho" and all the dishes on the menu. My favourite is the Crispy Fried Chicken, which defines authentic. There's also the diced beef cubes in a black pepper sauce which is my second favourite dish. Of course I love the Pho, but unlike an Seinfield episode "Soup is a meal here" and a very good one at that. Just I don't like sound all the time. And Pho variation on the menu is sublime. Service can be up and down and I think all the delivering places that "I Love Pho" caters for, slows it down more than the number of patrons, which seems to be consistent every time I go there. This was a regular eat for lunch and dinner when I frequented Crows Nest. The Pho is good quality and worth the $14 odd dollars for a large serving. Atmosphere is quite noisy on Friday and Saturday night (If you can get a seat) so definitely not the place for a relaxing quiet meal. Good value IMHO. read more

We expected a lot more from this place! The service was friendly but very slow and kind of useless. We were there for lunch with one (maybe two) other table occupied, it was 20 minutes before our order was taken. We had some rice paper rolls with extremely small amounts of dry roast duck, 4 bowls of decent pho and some mineral water and the bill was over $90. read more

The Best Pho in Crows Nest, hands down! I eat Pho 2-3 times a months and have tried the others in town, but find I always come back here as it is the best. Go for the Waygu - it is definitely worth the few dollars more. Also, if you are particular about your noodles as I am (flat versus round) let them know and they will accommodate. Went there on a thursday nite for dinner. Started with the mixed appetiser which was tasteless and appeared reheated. The beef pho was very ordinary, with only rice noodles and beef the texture of leather. The mixed beef pho was also with beef and noodles .
