I came here for the first time 2 months ago & experienced a wonderful shocking reveal that my asian straight lashes could be so0o curly! It was done by a lady very sweet & soft spoken, I believe her name is Julie. I made sure to return... Hence this review reflects the outcome of this 2nd time around. The lady I had was not Julie, did not ask her name but she wasn't as enthusiastic as Julie. However, she seems diligent in her work with timers going off to make sure it was "perming". But this time I felt it burning & stinging. Thank God it didn't affect my vision but I never felt this the first time. The turnout did not look as dramatic as the first experience but I figured to give it 24hrs as instructed without washing the lashes & so I waited to see after 2pm. After more than 24hrs the next days at 6pm (!) the right lashes have just a section that is curled & the rest is very so0o slightly bending. I am quite disappointed knowing how much this service costs. For the holidays there was a $10 discount if you paid with cash, but mind you cash for tips is still expected. Update: Spoke to the studio who said they'd comp a redo and was probably not as dramatic due to the the incorrect size of the curler, but redo's can only be done 4 weeks after due to the chemicals. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My lashes came out NOTHING like I wanted. They gave a MUCH LONGER length than I asked for. The manager refused to admit that she made a mistake because she claims, "we never make a mistake" and refused to give me a refund. Unfortunately, I cant see the final result until after its all done so there's really nothing I could do about it but get them removed which I did about an hour later at another lash place that confirmed the lashes were much longer than what I asked for. So I had high hopes about this place but unfortunately I was really dissatisfied. I live in the area & was hoping to find a good lash lifting spot so I wouldn't have to commute into the city which is where I always go. I ended up getting a lash lift & a tint for $70 which I thought was decent from what I've googled so far in the NJ area. I've attached a picture of how my lashes look the day after & you can hardly tell that they're lifted. The lady who did them was really nice her name was Susy. Not sure if she didn't leave the solution on long enough but like I said it didn't really do anything to my lashes. After I got them done my right eye got some solution in it & it was itching so badly! Unfortunately that's not the type of quality of work I'm used to since I go to a place in the city & I've never had an issue with solution getting into my eyes. Also idk if they use keratin for the lashes. I def won't be coming back here. They also do eyelash extensions maybe that is their specialty but I can tell u lash lifting is def not. read more

First I'd like to thank the receptionist for her patience and desire to explain everything prior to my appointment starting. However Suji, I wasn't so pleased with. I did ask for a full look and as I previously mentioned this was my first time there. After Suji completed my first eye, I asked to see it just to reassure that I was happy with the results. She began to grow impatient and said that she had to hurry because she has a "next customer." I told her that, I am her current customer and that I don't wanna hear about her next customer. Soon after, there was a lot of commotion and a lot of talking in their language! I don't know exactly what was said, but it did make me feel uncomfortable. I didn't want to leave with one eye not done, so I had to lay there uncomfortable and pray that I'd be happy with the results. As far as my lashes, they came out okay...but I doubt I'd be returning there or recommending anyone to go there. The eyelash business is very competitive. Just had a Lash Curl and Tint with my daughter today. We called yesterday with some questions and my first complaint is the price. When we called - the woman was on speaker phone and my daughter is 16 - and as a 4.3 GPA student understands what is said. We were told it was $50 each. Today learn $80 each. Plus tip. My daughters lashes came out SO MUCH BETTER then mine. My right eye - the lashes are clumped together. The process on my left eye was so uncomfortable. It's a lot to spend an hour having your eyes played with - there wasn't any good music or an offering for something to listen to. It is spa music, but I'm not getting a facial or massage. The technician (My daughter complained about this too) - didn't offer a time - to say - halfway there or 15 minutes more. It's not relaxing (for us it wasn't) - but it's like WHEN IS THIS OVER ALREADY! And not to have a time? last - they were late - they should have been done with us at 2:30- instead - done at 2:50 - doesn't sound like a big deal but I had a work call at 3. I won't be going back here and neither will my daughter. LAST - It's above Soup Dumpling Plus (which is awesome and we eat there often) - the room smelled of food drifting up - not what I want when I am supposed to relax - I didn't go for food or to smell food. I was always skeptical about getting eyelashes put on... because.. um... it's your EYES. Not at this place though. I get relaxed to the point where I fall asleep...every time! How awesome is that? Get an half hour nap and wake up with a set of beautiful lashes. It takes about 40 minutes to an hour depending on if you're getting a full set or touch up. Julie (she does my lashes) is very meticulous about putting on one lash at a time (God bless her for having the patience). She will consult on your desired lengths, thickness, etc. and explain the dos and dont's so that your lashes will last a long time. I've been here around 3 times and have had a good enough experience but today I got a lift and tint on my eyelashes and throughout the entire process my eyelashes were burning and the girl doing my lashes was either listening to music or on her phone. My eyes were irritated and red and chemically burnt. If anything happens to my eyesight they will hear from me. And after all that there was not even a lift in my eyelashes. I refused to pay. I really wanted to like this place. Most women I know go here for their lashes. I have pretty long and full lashes so I don't consider extensions often but twice I went to this place (each time for my birthday) and had both negative experiences. I'll start off by saying the women here and the cliffside location (for the most part) are super sweet and accommodating. Last year I came and got lashes done, my eyes were so irritated before I even left. I let the tech know and she put that little fan over my eyes but I think the dry glue or one of the lashes was scratching my eyeball. I got them done the day before I left town so I couldn't really do anything for about a week. My eyes were red and I had to wash them out to avoid further irritation, yanking out my own lashes in the process. This year, I figured I'd try again. Same experience. Only this time, they were so irritated from the placement of the lashes, I took them out the day after I got them done. My eyes were puffy and milky and bloodshot red. I scheduled a fix for the cliffside location, but did not want to give me the set I paid for, as opposed to a set with fewer lashes. To me, I paid for fuller lashes. If they're going to look natural and like they aren't there, that's a waste of money. I think they were just fed up because they ended up writing me a check. I bought some strip lashes and let go of the idea of extensions after that. read more

I waited a few days before posting my review of this place so I could describe my entire experience: an experience I never want to relive and will hopefully prevent you from making the same mistake. **As a disclaimer, I understand part of my experience may be due to my body's sensitivity, but I also recognize that parts of my awful experience are fixable by this business.** Came here through a GroupOn deal for a full set. I've received eyelash extensions before from a couple places in the city and none of them were ever as painful as the time I had mine done here. It was awful. I knew something was wrong when my eyes started burning. I thought it was strange that the burning sensation was increasing so I told my technician that my eyes were stinging. She said don't move your eyes // and in my head I'm thinking yeah lady I'm moving my eyes because they feel like they're burning. I'm not sure what she did (maybe she didn't do anything at all) to address the stinging. Regardless, it continued. I thought perhaps I was being a little too sensitive and intolerant to the discomfort and decided to persist through. At the end of the harrowing ordeal, the technician said I could open my eyes and that's when I knew I had received a crap job. My eyes were burning so much that tears were coming out. It hurt so bad and when I looked into the mirror I saw that the whites of my eyes were now bloodshot red. I nervously asked the technician if this was a normal side effect and she said not to worry about it and that the stinging would subside in a couple hours. The stinging did not subside in a couple of hours. I had to get eye drops later that evening and only then did the pain become bearable. I started googling other botched eyelash extension jobs and realized I was experiencing similar symptoms: bloodshot redness, soreness, and a relentless sting. Articles attributed it to chemical burning which happens when the adhesives aren't properly applied and exposes your eyes to the fumes of the glue. Although this was a groupon deal I was sure that this wasn't some shady job because the price was still above average. The place also looked well kept and most of the Yelp reviews were consistently positive. Both my technician and the receptionist repeatedly said that my bloodshot eyes and burning were normal. Weird. If this was normal, why haven't I ever felt pain in my previous experiences? And if it was normal, why did the pain persist for more than a few hours? First of all, I think it goes without saying that when a customer expresses some level of concern, the business should try to alleviate that concern by providing a thorough explanation, or some kind of relief - not just send me on my way and have me figure it out on my own. Second, humans make mistakes and maybe the adhesives weren't applied properly. These mistakes however are extremely dangerous and can result in serious health problems. We're talking about people's eyes here. I don't have anything against this business but I do want to warn people who are thinking of getting their eyelash extensions here. Do your research and do NOT let your technician neglect any pain you are feeling. This is not supposed to be painful. A couple days later I visited a different eyelash technician and she confirmed that my process was done incorrectly. This process is supposed to be relaxing. I've fallen asleep in my previous experiences and here I was just praying for it to end as quickly as possible. Hope the technicians are careful with the adhesives going forward (if that is the issue). Otherwise, they need to find out what the problem is and why other places are painless while their place is excruciatingly painful. I heard other places do eye patch tests? I didn't get one here. The redness in my eyes subsided after 4 days and my lashes are still in tact and look super nice. However, the anxiety over them the past few days was just not worth it. I went there the day before my birthday to get a regular volume set which was $150. It was already price but i did not want to spend less and get light volume because I wanted regular volume. The lash artist not only spent probably less than an hour on my lashes and they looked like a hybrid set. I am a lash technician so there is no way I would have a client spend 150$ for volume and leave with lashes like so. I explained this to the front desk and the woman who did my lashes was annoyed but agreed to fill them up more. She did so and they actually looked really good. The reason I am giving one star is because of the outcome. The point of individual lashes is to attach a fan on ONE natural lash. She did not do this. That is very horrific! They told me it cannot touch water within 24 hours, so I even did not wash my face. And the eyelashes fell off 95% after 4 days, I went there and told them. They told me I can have 20 dollars off if I refill them, I don't want and left the store. After 3 mins, they call me to schedule the free refill. But after a hour consideration, I gave up the refill. My friends told me it will fell off again in 3 days, to do the refill is waste of time. And it is uncomfortable after the extensions, because it is very hard materials. Generally the experience was great. They send you a text when you make your appointment and then they send you text reminders closer to your appointment. They have a parking garage with free parking, and the salon is clean. However, I didn't like how the waiting area and the area where they apply lashes were in one area because I always found getting lash extensions was a peaceful experience. With everything in one area, I found it was hard to relax in the beginning because I could hear everyone talking, despite the serene music they were playing. Eventually I did relax and actually fell asleep for a little bit during the procedure. I thought the technician also took her time with the process. I like how she sat down before she started to make sure I had the lashes that I wanted. I just thought the process that the technicians are trained to use could be better. I didn't like how they taped my eyelids because it was kind of uncomfortable in the beginning. I also thought that the fumes from the glue burned my eyes in the beginning and burned them randomly in the middle as well. I found this place on Groupon and it was really nice inside very relaxing ambience. The reason I am giving it one star is because in 13 days my left eye lashes were still in great shape lost a couple lashes but that's normal but my right eye I only had 5 lashes left but I had noticed days way before that my right eye was constantly falling with lashes and they barely had glue on them when I would look at the ones that had fallen and I did notice how my left eye she took more time with then my right eye as well it was like rushed.
