Since any damage to teeth would be permanent and we highly rely on professional opinions when it comes to dentistry, my bottom line is no unnecessary or excessive treatment and I'm very lucky to find Dr. Lin. Highly professional, Dr. Lin is also very caring and thinking for her patients. She offers very reasonable prices for patients without insurance, and only introduce the types of treatment only when she think they are needed. I only got fillings when we were concerned whether I'd be sold a crown or something but she said a minor filling was good enough. She doesn't come out to sell expensive and excessive treatments, which is not always the cases with dentistry and is greatly appreciated. Though a new patient, I'm highly satisfied with the treatment and would definitely continue visiting the practice and introduce her to my friends and family. read more

A very gentle doctor who tells you what you're getting into and talks you through procedures. I really appreciate this because I generally expect pain in any major procedure. Additionally, she has a big heart. Last summer she and her husband travelled to Nepal to provide dental and surgical procedures for people who could not afford such forms of health care. I know tons of people who go to Dr. Lin, including a best friend, and a coworker. She's a very sweet lady who won't rush through a procedure. If you are getting multiple things done and she runs out of time she will ask you to reschedule. I appreciate that she is respectful of people's appointments and makes every effort to be on time. Grace her receptionist is great with scheduling. She fit me in at an earlier time (before the office would normally open), so I could make it to work on time. It's tough when you are a teacher and need to be at work by 8:00am. I'm glad Dr. Lin and her office are understanding. Great clean office. The office front has a really chill and zen vibe to it. There are chimes, a fountain, nice furniture, cool decor, and a plasma TV with ocean movies. I guess when you're in Bethesda people aren't kidding with the overhead. In the dentist's chair however, you can expect to gaze on the tens of drawings and pictures that Dr. Lin's children patients have drawn her. She must be really great with kids because a lot of these pictures have messages of adoration towards Dr. Lin. She also has two kids of her own, so I'm guessing she's probably a great mom as well. Each time I've visited the office I was able to find street parking. However, if you are a Chevy Chase Bank customer there is a parking lot that gives validations for people visiting the bank which is at the corner. I've always gotten to Dr. Lin's very early and the bank was never open for me to have benefited from this. Grace informed me that people park at the Giant across the street and get parking validation from Giant. Supposedly, that only costs a dollar. The office is in a high rise office building and is a very fitting for a Bethesda office building. It's also conveniently located near the Friendship Heights metro station. If you don't want to drive you can just take the red line and walk a block and a half. All in all Dr. Lin is a great dentist. She shares the suite with her husband known as Dr. Kung (who is a plastic and maxillofacial surgeon that is also going to do my orthognathic surgery), and another dentist, Dr. Kang (who I don't know much about and have never seen). read more

Dr. Lin is very straight forward about dental issues. She works fairly quickly, but carefully to provide excellent results. I've had a number of dental problems arising from poor work performed by previous dentists, and Dr. Lin has been able to rectify those issues with lasting results. read more

To date, my experience with Dr Lin has been limited to general care and very pleased. NOW , recommended that I have more complicated work to deal with loose upper teeth by current techniques. My concern is whether to see a specialist (prosthdontist?) or have confidence in Dr Lin's assurance that she can do the procedure. There is no indication in her "profile" that she is technically equipped/trained to do what is necessary, i.e. preserve these teeth and avoid extraction. My "gut" feeling is that I can trust her professional integrity and make an appointment. JG read more

Dr. Lin is a fantastic dentist. Unfortunately, it's a *was* for me. Just found out she doesn't take my new insurance! So here I am searching for new dentists - anyway, I don't think I'll find someone better than Dr. Lin: thorough, but not putting you through the wringer - I only had basic cleanings done, but the results were always excellent. I've never left a yelp review, but my experience with Dr. Lin prompted me to do so for the first time! I have been missing two teeth for over 20 years, but finances never allowed me to get implants until now, so I went in for a consultation. Unlike every other dentist for the last 20 years, Dr. Lin didn't make me feel bad or embarrassed for not taking care of this sooner. She explained ALL of my options (even the less desirable ones), and referred me to an orthodontist. She also answered all of my questions, even "what if I do nothing for another 20 years." There was no shame or guilt. Also, I love her office decor, and her front desk staff is great and very understanding of a unique insurance situation. I will continue to visit Dr. Lin as long as I can, and I will take my family there as well. read more

Dr. Lin is a great dentist. She's the only dentist I've ever had who actually cleans your teeth as well as examines them. (At other places it's usually one of the hygenists who cleans your teeth.) She is friendly, easy to talk to, and really gentle on your teeth. The office is convenient (1/2 block from Friendship Heights metro/bus station), clean, and has really cute children's art work everywhere! I once went on a day when it was pouring outside and the receptionist offered me a place to put my umbrella and hang my coat. There's never a long wait in the waiting room. I would definitely recommend Dr. Bonnie Lin to anyone who is looking for a dentist. The only thing that weirded me out my first time is that the sign on the door says "plastic surgery" - but once you go inside, it's clearly a dentist's office. read more

I have teeth problems all my life with several fillings, root canals, crowns and implants. It means I have been treated by dozens of dentists. Dr. Lin is the best. I have been Dr. Lin's patient for more than 15 years. She knows what she is doing and she has the best intentions for her patients. She takes care of and focuses on one patient at a time and always tries to save the teeth and money for her patients. She never runs around multiple rooms of patients to earn more money at the same time. Her treatment room is clean, neat and tidy. She has displayed dozens of children's art on the wall. I believe it is to please all the children whom she has treated with care and love. My daughter and son were the ones to start the first drawings when they were six and three years old and they are proud to see theirs and other children's drawings too. Keeping children's art on the wall is not clutter. It is nice of Dr. Lin to allow the young patients to display their gratitude. My daughter is now in college. She still comes back to Dr. Lin for her teeth problems. Just because the front office mixed up an appointment but corrected quickly was no reason to mislead people into thinking that Dr. Lin was not one of the best dentists around Washington DC. She always listens patiently to what we have to say and always do the right thing. She never charges more because she is not greedy but not because she is cheap. Dr Lin could be really kind, nice and patient during the consulting stage. But once you made your decisions and paid the bills, she became impatient and disrespectful, because she knew that you had no other options but to get major procedures done at her place. I dont know if she knows how to spell the word "RESPECT", I guess not. She promised me back in May that I could get a major surgery done before I left DC in June. I told her due to the arrangement of my personal schedule, this would be the only available time. She ensured me that we could definitely get this done and asked me to pay the deposit. However, after I paid, she became extremely impatient. I felt like I was getting rushed through. Eventually, she noticed me two days before I left, saying that due to some administrative delay and procrastination, the surgery cannot be done before I left. She was like "well, whatever, I cant do anything about it...well that's their fault, not mine.." She messed up my whole schedule and did not even try to apologize. There was no "sorry", no trying to find a solution, only "well that s not my fault, I m not responsible for that." She even walked away when I was trying to communicate with her. This is just not how a dentist, a doctor should treat their patients. This is just a horrible, horrible experience. Don't let her be your dentist if you can avoid it. read more
