For bedding wash & iron, I've switched from my beloved regular laundry service to I Hate Ironing--the price is much more reasonable (even factoring in service fee & optional delivery tip) than my former provider. Do NOT go here. Unless, of course, you want your clothes to come back smelling like a forgotten, moldy laundromat. Unless you want your designer pieces to mysteriously vanish. Unless you're fine with your pickup time being completely wrong -- or worse, ignored altogether. This place is an absolute disaster. I gave them second chances. Then third. Huge mistake. They lost three pieces of my designer clothing. It took them months to "investigate," only to finally reimburse me -- without so much as a real apology. No accountability. No concern. Just silence and indifference. As if that weren't enough, my entire load of clothes came back smelling awful. So I took the extra step: I sent my own detergent and scent beads, clearly instructed them to use it -- and they didn't. They just ignored me. Want to schedule a pickup? Good luck. Half the time they just don't show up. Instead, you get a vague message about "unforeseen circumstances." So if you need your bedding cleaned before a guest arrives? Forget it. They'll leave you stranded. Customer service? Barely exists. Complaints are brushed off with a generic "$30 credit," like that somehow makes up for ruined clothes, wasted time, and complete disregard. This isn't just bad service. I honestly don't know how they're still in business. * Drop-off times kept changing without telling me -- I had to chase them down just to figure out where my stuff was. * When I finally got my shoes back, they were basically destroyed. Taken apart but never put back together. The metal plates? Gone. And when I asked, they admitted they couldn't find them anymore. * The shoes are now completely unwearable. I asked for a refund over a few weeks ago, but every time I follow up it's the same line: "We need to discuss this with the operations manager." It's been "under discussion" for weeks with zero resolution. And based on other reviews, this isn't just me -- losing customers' belongings seems to be a recurring theme here. Clearly, they don't take responsibility when they mess up. There are so many great mom-and-pop shops in NYC that actually care about doing good work. Extremely efficient service, pickup is pretty much straightaway, everything comes back neatly folded and wrapped. The provided laundry bags are hardwearing and reusable. The app is very easy to use and great for leaving extra notes for special care of items. I'm leaving a review for the Miami, FL location of this business. Do not recommend. They advertise "eco-friendly" and "scent free" but unfortunately this is not the case. I gave them a huge order that included machine-washed items and items that required dry cleaning. Most of the machine-washable items came back OK but were covered in sticky debris and others had a strange smell. All of the dry clean items came back smelling incredibly toxic and disgusting. I tried everything to get the smell out (airing out for days, machine washing multiple times, hydroxyl machine, etc). but nothing worked so I had to throw everything away. The customer service vertical of this company is completed siloed from operations so it's impossible to speak to anyone who is actually cleaning your items. I would not recommend sending them anything that you care about if you ever want to wear it again. read more

They shrink 4 of our favorite cashmere sweater and one pants! They did not refund or anything! They'd only option was to send them back with an other sweater to try to give their shape back ( which, obviously, dit not work!) their answer is" we understand that this situation is far from ideal..." it's more than far from ideal they just destroyed our cashmere sweater! It's absurd now they can fit a kid and not even as the touch is far from soft anymore! I m so mad and sad that I lost those sweater ! I would advise nobody to use their services! read more

I requested a service to have them pick up a windbreaker and replace a broken zipper. After a week went by I never heard from them and I had to contact them to see if the jacket was repaired and ready to be delivered back to me. It turns out they were waiting on approval before they could even repair the jacket for an entire week without contacting me or reaching out to me. Then they promised me it would be repaired within another week and a half, and it would be delivered back to me. On the day that it's supposed to be delivered back to me. I get a message from AI chat that they could not find the zipper and they can't do the repair and they were returning it back to me in original broken form. they've already charged me a service fee for picking up the item and they have not fixed my issue. They haven't reached out to me or communicated to me once about this repair. There is no one to contact, no phone numbers, no delivery drivers, no email address. The only way to contact is through an AI customer service chat on their app. I would never trust ihateironing again. This was horrible service. No communication, they have no priority for their customers. One order can go from taking 24 hours to taking two weeks in the blink of an eye with no communication. Never again! it's extremely overpriced $95 to fix a zipper and a real waste of time. This business is a scam. read more

I sent a pair of sneakers to get cleaned and they took over a month to get them back to me, and when they did, the sneakers were completely discolored (went from white to brown/gray) and destroyed. I can't even wear them if I wanted to, the material is beyond repair. read more

Avoid ihateironing at all costs and go direct. Destroyed two brand new made-to-measure trousers. Ignored cleaning instructions. Careless handling. $600 loss. Had to repurchase the trousers out of pocket. Nearly two months of excuses and delay. Had to chase them constantly just to get basic responses. Refused to reimburse me despite clear fault. Proposed ridiculous fixes like trying to "stretch" heat-damaged trousers back into shape. Even suggested I send other trousers so they could take measurements instead of accepting responsibility. Refused to provide insurance details so I could submit a claim. Refused to identify which dry cleaner actually handled my garments, hiding behind vague and misapplied UK privacy claims meant to protect consumers. This is not a cleaning company. It is an app-based delivery middleman. They outsource the work, take your money, and disappear the moment something goes wrong. When your clothes are damaged, there is no transparency, no insurer, and no accountable party. Read the other reviews and heed the warnings. Have never had an experience like this with a legitimate dry cleaner. Cut out the middleman. Go directly to an actual cleaner who stands behind their work. Avoid ihateironing entirely. read more

Yelp really needs negative stars -- can't believe I am here again, but here we are! Update to my last post -- I decided to take IHI up on their offer of a 100 USD credit given my last negative experience. What a mistake. I scheduled a pickup today for 2pm EST for a few blankets and a round of clothes. I made this very clear in my instructions in the app. 2pm rolls around, and I receive a notification from a "Lucy" that do to an "unforeseen error" my order wouldn't be picked up until 4pm EST. I knew then this was going to go sideways, despite the fact that I literally was giving IHI another chance with the voucher they'd issued after their last screw up. 5pm EST rolls around and nothing -- no text message, no phone call, as has always been protocol for this company once they arrive outside my building for collection or delivery. I call the US hotline and the lady informs me that my order was already collected. I asked what she was talking about as I hadn't received any text or phone call and certainly hadn't let anyone in the building in the past few hours. She put me on hold for a few minutes and once back informed me that the package had been "left outside the building" and collected by the IHI office employee. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE LIE. I very strongly recommend anyone thinking of IHI reconsider. Not only do they not make appropriate amends for past mistakes, their employees enter buildings at will -- without authorization-- and lie about circumstances surrounding collection/delivery. Extremely unsettling and unsafe and they should be ashamed of themselves. read more

I used IHI for the first time two weeks ago. I needed two of my "good" dresses and more formal jackets to be cleaned in 24 hours. IHI was excellent. They picked up and dropped off when they said they would.! The cleaning was perfect. The cost very reasonable. So easy to use, and I shall definitely use IHI again. read more

I've used this service in the past and was generally satisfied...a couple of mistakes ( dry cleaning linen shirts instead of washing) but these were corrected with a call to customer service. Just yesterday I sent a mixed batch of my wife's shirts and mine. I was charged $4 for my shirts and $9 for my wife's...Yikes...since the shirts are virtually identical other than buttoning in the opposite direction I figured this was a mistake that would easily be remedied. Instead I was given some lame explanation that women's shirts are "blouses" and therefore charged at a higher rate. When I pointed out that the shirts were identical in style and fabric they continued with a nonsensical explanation that somehow they required different treatment. An upcharge of $5 a shirt seems like a blatant ripoff to me and I will not use them again. read more

IHI is a great service for the basics and then some--clothing wash & fold, dry cleaning, and even specially services like rug cleaning. They also offer lots of flexibility around pick up / drop off times & locations to which they cater in New York. When I've had quirks with special orders (e.g. more time needed for special leather cleaning or something), IHI is always communicative and proactive. Re tailoring-- I would not generally recommend anyone send clothing to be hemmed without being in person unless you want to risk someone's "artistic"interpretation of your wording, or just total lack of understanding of your wording (not everyone working in the US is proficient in English obviously). That's just my personal opinion. read more

I am using this service for laundering and ironing of linens -- and it totally rocks. $60 for a full set seems expensive until I compare what my cleaning person can do in the time it takes to launder and iron my linens - and it seems like a bargain. They pick up and deliver exactly when they say they will and have accommodated all of my weird laundry baskets - returning them with a proper and tagged container for my service. Wish they were in more places, like Miami Beach and out east! read more

I was thoroughly disappointed with the poor service I received from I Hate Ironing. I gave them a pair of designer jeans to be hemmed, with explicit instructions to maintain the original distressed hem style. However, when they delivered my order, the jeans had been altered with a basic straight hem rather than keeping the more original hem. Also, they lost the laundry bag I had given to them with my laundry. I also found the staff to be devoid of any customer service skills. When I pointed out the issues with my clothing items and missing bag, they gave no apologies or concern. Considering the high prices they charge for simple clothing alterations and dry cleaning services, I expect far better care, professionalism and quality results. Sadly, I Hate Ironing failed enormously on all counts. I cannot recommend them if you have any specialty or valuable items you want properly handled and returned to you. For the outrageous prices they charge, you deserve better service and less damaged goods than I received. I will not be using them again. read more

I've used them for about 2 years and I'm officially done. I used them for ease of pickup and delivery however it's not worth them ruining my clothes. I've given them multiple chances and they keep messing up. They put staples and safety pins through many items of my clothes. I've contacted support and they would apologize and say they would retrain the staff but nothing changed. They finally put safety pins through a silk gown that is no longer for sale. Now I have 2 ruined dresses that I cannot replace anymore. read more

I regularly use I Hate Ironing for wash and fold. It's great and relatively cheaper than other options in my neighborhood. They've only been late returning my clothes once and it was 20 mins so not horrible.
