Update 8/6/2026: I was so afraid of being locked out of my account again that I couldn't bear the thought of logging back in to my iDrive safely account. Just the thought caused me so much anxiety. I put many hours into the courses, and I was so close to finishing; just trying to reach that finish line and cram as much into yesterday and today before my course expired. I feel so disappointed, frustrated and overall upset. The content is amazing, easy to follow and when I'm not getting locked out I view this as a great resource. However I am pretty devastated at the loss of time I put into this course. I'm a mother of two small children and I work full-time, the time I sacrificed to I drive safely took away valuable time from my family and I know I'm being very dramatic but I always keep up with my safe driving discounts, and this one has by far been the most difficult to work with. I chose this site based on an advertised low price, but it turned out to be a classic bait-and-switch. Once you sign up for their Traffic School Course, the 'one-time fee' is just the beginning. They continue to bill you for basic requirements like sending notices to the DMV--something that should be included. Most frustratingly, the course is just a series of slides unless you pay an additional 'upgrade' fee to actually view videos. Very shady business practices. Absolutely Terrible - Save Your Money. I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with iDrive Safely was so exceptionally frustrating that I feel obligated to warn others. The overall user experience is incredibly poor from start to finish. First, the course materials are completely unprofessional and riddled with improper grammar. It makes the entire program feel cheap and hastily thrown together. Even worse than the typos, however, are the glaring technical and factual errors. The course contains wrong links that redirect you to external inspection sites, and to make matters worse, those sites have completely incorrect information on their checklists. It's incredibly confusing and totally counterproductive for a course that is supposed to be teaching safety and compliance. When I tried to address these glaring issues with Chris, I was met with zero accountability. It is incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that refuses to take ownership of its mistakes, which speaks volumes about the poor leadership running this organization. Deceptive advertising. Their website deceptively advertises $29.99 with a slash through $39.99. No where does it mention that you have to sign up for their road side service to get $29.99. Go to the website and see if you can find a statement to that effect. Next. At the end of the course I started the final exam and no where did it say that I had one hour to finish it otherwise I would get a fail and have to re-take it. More deception. I am 73 yrs old and slow at a lot of things unfortunately. Before the test they tell you that you have two attempts to pass it so otherwise you have to re-take the course. Fortunately I passed it the second time. Finally they advertised a free report of your completion information directly to the DMV - at no cost to you. Not true. The actual cost is $14.95. My son took this course as it was listed at our community college and it will not give him his certificate. Not only that but the website has TDLR approved seal but that is a lie. It is not approved and I think my son was scammed and hustled. The customer service is by text only which is highly suspicious and they haven't replied. System error wasted 16 hours of my time... I took I Drive Safely's 8-hour online course for DMV point reduction. I chose the correct reason at registration, but the certificate I got back said "Court - No Points Awarded." Because of that, the DMV rejected it. Customer service was useless -- clearly outsourced, gave me the runaround, and told me to call the DMV, who said they can't fix a course provider's mistake. I had to retake the entire course, wasting 16 hours total. They let me redo it for free, but time is time. Their system needs to be fixed, and their support needs to be local and accountable. After completing the course, I received an email stating that if I referred a family member or friend, both I and they would receive ten dollars. I called three times and got different excuses, and after three months, they told me the course did not qualify for the referral. This was a good company, years ago, and I've taken driver safety classes here a few times. Their customer service was good, their courses were user friendly and easy to get through. I'm sorry to say that this has disgusting, vile business I remember dealing with. Each time I tried to log in, I've had to type the same phrase over, more than ten times. Then, I was locked out of my course, for reasons that couldn't be answered. There doesn't seem to be a way to unlock the course and there doesn't seem to be a way to easily reach anyone over the phone. They're not back in their office again for another two days, and even then, it is a very long wait for any kind of customer service. I wanted to finish this course, this weekend, when I had time. Instead, I might be filing a Better Business Bureau complaint followed by a Small Claims action for my wasted time and money. read more

Short version: I hope you were smarter than most of us here and researched this "company" before you let them rob you. 1) The timer will bleed you out. No one who should be driving reads that slow. Who are you kidding with this? 2) I purchased the video version of the defensive driving course which was an extra $9.99 AFTER paying the $24.95 for the course itself. All was going well until... 3) their ridiculous ID verification process froze my whole account. The number they give you to call doesn't work and it soft locks you as you can't move onto the next segment until you've verified your ID, which you only get 2 chances to try or you have to start from the beginning. And so I did have to start from the begging and what do you know? they're asking me AGAIN to pay for the video version as if I never did... but they have my money... and I have receipts... so who the F@#$ ARE YOU KIDDING WITH THIS?!?!?! 4) Joe T. and Amber D. share the same punchable picture. My daughter did the driver's ed learner's permit exam and passed it however, they never sent the notification to the dmv; they have no record in their system of her taking the exam. This company doesn't give completion notifications for record keeping. They say they'll notify your dmv. The customer service department has been closed for at least the last 3 days due to "unexpected severe weather conditions". There's no email to reach anyone; only a bot with pre-programmed responses. After dealing with the bot she received an email stating they have no record of her in their system. My credit card statement says otherwise. read more

Easy to sign up, inexpensive but confirmation of completion of traffic school course is lacking. The course is what you would expect on basic driver safety and laws interspersed with, at times long, videos. I only found it to take about 4 hours. The downside of this service, at least what I just experienced, is that there is no certificate of completion page you can go to while your logged in. The site simply sits at the traffic school course agenda page that has everything checked. You can't go anywhere else other then a less then helpful help page. I found the automated chat frustrating, too presumptive and too fast for any decision input til the next question. I did get a human to talk to pretty quickly and was who helpful this number was: 800-723-1955 - Customer Service. I was assured that completion of the course was sent to the states DMV automatically and she had escalated my request for certificate of completion. I will give it 24 more hours to see if I get it. read more

Super slow timer. What a tremendous waste of time. You have to wait super long to for each section to finish. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

My daughter had a terrible experience with this website. She took and passed their exam, but had to go back to her country and due to COVID lockdowns, she really couldn't get back to the US in time and the exam expired for her. When she returned back to the US, she took and passed the exam again on their website. Apparently, IDriveSafely, does not have a procedure for handling this type of situation. To make a long story short, IDriveSafely could never fix this issue for the DMV to accept her passed exam. Overall, I had to go to the DMV five times in the span of two weeks, (there are no appointments allowed, so walk-in only) going back and forth with the DMV and contacting IDriveSafely, trying to correct IDriveSafely's mistake. In the end, my daughter just ended up taking the exam at the DMV and used that to get her Learner's. IDriveSafely's website was a total waste of time for her. Their online course and practice exams are not good either. My daughter tried them and she said they were not helpful to pass. She said she passed because she downloaded the Driver's Handbook and used that to study instead. I hope you never have to go through the experience my daughter and I did with IDriveSafely. read more

Nightmare. First they make you pay and then complete your driver registration information. However, being an Arizona resident who was ticketed in California, you're unable to select the correct class of driver's license (Class-D) since this class doesn't exist in California. There's no other option, which is astounding, since countless people drive between the two states. Cut to an hour later, when I finally get ahold of someone on their live-chat support function. Her name was idsbkelly - who informed me that, "With the California course it will only provide information for California format such as drivers license I apologize there is not a way to select for a different state." I asked her what do I do then, and she never responded, then disconnected. I have a photo of the chat log. I get a callback from tech support 2 hours later after leaving my number on their automated call line (After wasting thirty minutes on hold, mind you) and speak with Reynoldo, who is able to input my info on his end to get me registered. He then informs me that Mac OSX operating systems AREN'T SUPPORTED FOR THE ONLINE CLASS. I was incredulous, since I don't know anyone who even uses Windows anymore. He then told me I needed to read the fine print, which if true, should be blatantly obvious since I imagine half their user base uses OSX. Fortunately he was able to issue me a refund which should go through... *fingers crossed* Needless to say, don't use this driving class.
