I recently had to find a new eye doc and this was close to me. Was not expecting too much since I just needed an eye exam. Dr. Reynolds explained everything to me in supurb detail and answered many of my questions. My 5-star review though is mainly based on the awesome experience I had with Michelle up front. I do like this place, and I do plan on staying. I've come here a few times, and the appointments have been good. I don't have any eye issues, so my tests are pretty standard. That being said, I have experienced a couple things recently that stop me from giving a higher score. I had an appointment a couple weeks ago that was setup for 9:40. I was surprised when I showed up on time (couple minutes early), and the door was locked. The doctor showed up almost exactly at 9:40am. Another person rolled up a couple minutes later and let us in. It's not a big deal, since it all worked out. Today I called at about 10:05am. This site says they open at 10am, so I'd think they'd be open. It went to voicemail. I think the location off New Hampshire needs to start showing up a few minutes early to get prepared. read more

My family has been coming here for about 7 years now and will continue to do so... staff and doctors are super friendly and helpful! I appreciate that they are transparent with their prices and that they don't upsell. They don't have a super large inventory of frames but I think their selection contains quality frames that are and appropriate for the entire family. Before coming here I went to a place in Bethesda and ended up paying twice the amount for similar frames and less advanced lenses. I'm happy I decided to try iCare in Cloverly. read more

Purchased eye glasses for my wife and I couple months ago at this store. Our insurance did cover the eye exam but boy were we surprised by the cost of eye glasses. My glasses were $601 and my wifes cost $581, and I'd understand if the frames were some designer brand but they're a company i never heard of. Not sure if I can justify returning here for business unless they restructure the pricing. 3 stars for the lovely employees and doctors there, but 5/5 would've been for acceptable/fair pricing. read more

But as successful as their predecessor were, the fine employees of this team is just as rewarding. They don't treat you as a number. You are actually looked upon as sort of "family". I can't speak highly enough about this place. I went to the Cloverly store in Silver Spring, MD. The girls up front were a delight. Very personable, and made me feel right at home, but professional at the same time. The Dr. took the time to explain everything about the difference in each lens. This was my first time getting prescription glasses. I am very detailed oriented and very picky. I was given all the options available and the time I needed to make up my mind (which always takes me forever.) I ended up with two pairs. I expressed to a friend that I was tired of going to other practical optical places like Costco and America's Best to get my eye's check after recently losing my health insurance. I wanted an optical that offered reasonable prices and great care and she recommended Dr. Mohindra Ramphal at I Care Doctor. Dr. Ramphal was so personable and precise. He took his time with me when checking my eyesight and running his tests. If I seemed unsure of an option he went back and tried things again. Most doctors I've gone to in the past move on and feel annoyed if I ask them to try a setting again. He was kind and funny. Definitely a doctor I'm returning to in two years. The staff were also kind and answered all my questions. They were patient when I was trying different glasses. They have a nice collection of glasses that include Guess,Bebe, Michael Kors and even Gucci at reasonable and realistic prices. When I went to pick up my new glasses the staff were helpful in asking the right questions to make sure my glasses fit well and felt even better. They gave me a case, wipe, spray to clean my glasses and even a sample of some eye drops to try out. read more

Ten minutes after I arrived, I was finally greeted and asked to sign in, which I already did, ten minutes ago. An hour after my scheduled appointment, I was finally seen by the optometrist. After the exam, she told me to have a seat and the front desk will print out my prescription and check me out. Twenty minutes later, I approached the desk and asked them if they could check me out because I've been here for an hour and a half now and they said "sorry I didn't know you were waiting." Now many of you are probably thinking, maybe they were busy? No, this was not the case. I've been to far more busier offices and have never experienced such a lack of customer service. I will say, the optometrist was nice and informative. You have patience to spare and don't mind an incompetent front desk then by all means, otherwise save yourself the headache and time. read more

I would not ever use these people. They are incompetent to say the least. The eye doctor did not measure my perscription correctly. They have had to remake my glasses 3 times and this is going on four. They do not have staff who are trained to fit glasses. Instead of heating them around the temples they bend them back and forth till they snap. They deliver "brand new glasses" with scratches to you and try to blame it on the lap being inferior. They are the worst business I have ever been too!!! Use anyone else to get your glases. I would give them less than one star if possible. Oh and on top of it they are rude about their mistakes. read more

The optometrist is decent. However, I have been going to this location for the past few years, and the staff is unprofessional and incompetent. They do not get your orders done correctly, either. I went to Herndon office and the person selling the frames give false information about the insurance charges and charged me 350 dollars for one pair of glasses (online and other eye care provider the cost is only 175 dollars) . I later found out that they are double charging me for each glass (like instead of charging coating/antiglare for a pair they charged me 2 times for same pair ). They refused to cancel the order and the glass was not fitting properly . He was keep bending the frame many times to make it fit. Doctors are good but never buy glasses from there ...they will over charge you like crazy. Never buy from here ... read more

He was extremely knowledgeable about all things optical and he was very patient with me as this is a big deal for me in how I take care of my eyes. This is the first time I've gone to an eye doctor and completely understood everything from A-Z and it felt good to make a fully informed decision. I went to this location to get my daughters eye glass prescription filled. I asked how long it would take? I was told about two weeks. I got a call a week later to find out that they no longer carry the brand of glasses my daughter choose. They asked us to come in that day to choose another pair of glasses. Last week she chose another pair and now we are on week three of waiting for her glasses? It shouldn't be this complicated nor should it take 4 weeks to get frames? Now because we have already waited three weeks I don't want to go anywhere else and be told that it takes another 2 weeks. I am sure this will be my last time visiting I Care Doctor. read more

Dr. Sami Ghannam I feel saved my eyes by discovering what my previous doctor hadn't discovered & I have been going to him for about nine years now & that is a long time for me. I found this doctor & his staff to be caring & the best ever! I started out in his Main Street Office in Laurel, Md, where I live. It was nice over there as well. But one day I went to the Silver Spring, Md, office @ 15426 New Hampshire Ave., SS Md & I was sold forever. Not only is his staff nice & professional, but they, just like Dr. Sami(what I call him)always have a smile, remember who you are & they act like the patients matter. That is extremely important! Good customer service is difficult to find, and when there is bad customer service, a patient will tell everyone about that. They, at the Silver spring, Md office, won't have that issue at all. And, one other thing, they are patient & if there is something you don't quite get, they explain all over & their expression remains the same. Today I went to get my kids their yearly appointment and today was one of the best service I have ever had by them in years. The staff were really friendly with my kids and I they helped them decide which glasses they would like. Their service was awesome!! As soon as I walked in I did the paper work and when I finished they called my kids to the back to get their check up and it did not take no more than an hour to finish everything, and mostly when I go I wait about an hour and 30 minutes or two. read more

My daughter and I have been going to this eye center for many years and have bought several pairs of prescription glasses and contact lenses. My most recent visit however was my last as I was blatantly ripped off of on pair of Ray Ban sunglasses (off the shelf, non prescription glasses). After spending just short of $1,000 on my eye exam and progressive computer glasses, I was led to believe that I was being given a "great 35% discount" on the Ray Ban sun glasses that were on the shelf in the waiting room (the "discount" being offered as a "bonus" for buying the progressives glasses). Shelf price at the center was $289.00. After the "discount" I was charged $187.00. When I got home I checked the Ray Ban website to see if the manufacturer still carries the glasses as I wanted to read reviews, and the exact same pair from Ray Ban is $112.00 (not a sale price). On Amazon they are listed for $69.00. When I called the eye center exactly 1 hour after buying the glasses for $187.00 to see if I could return them as I hadn't even taken them out of the bag yet, I was told "sorry, no". Never mind I had just picked up very expensive prescription glasses that same day. While I should have done my homework before buying the glasses, I foolishly trusted the eye doctor office my family had been frequenting for years. Pretty awful. This experience also makes me question how many hundreds of dollars extra I paid for my prescription glasses too. Never again. Don't go there! read more
