I can't believe no one ever entered this station in Yelp yet, but have entered various other bus and train stations. It's a.major.transportation hub for.the city, with about 4 regular bus lines (the ever-running 0 up and down Broadway, the 6X from the Federal Center, the 11 down west and east Mississippi, and the 14), and serving 5 light rail lines here. Fairly nicely designed...but underlit in.the bus areas.after.dark, and if you wander away towards Broadway, probably a.great.place to.get.mugged.. Dirt.lots nearby.for car parking (just under 1250 total spots per RTD's website), and M-F business hrs.the lots are.usually fully.packed.

Many people that live in this area use this station to commute to and from downtown Denver for both work and play. There are many beautiful art installations both at and nearby the station including the Articulated Wall sculpture that is seen by thousands of people everyday that drive past it on I-25.

So, as other reviewers have stated, this is indeed a light rail station. Other than the strange…read morestatue just north of the platform ("breakdancing native Americans"), it's not a bad spot. I probably wouldn't want to live in the "luxury apartments" next door, but maybe that's just me. There seems to be a little restaurant nearby, judging by a sign on the corner of the building that states "coffee and cocktails," but since I'm usually on my way to work when I pass through here, I'm unlikely to give that one a shot for the most part. The station is about as clean as you can reasonably expect a station in the middle of Denver to be, perhaps because of the "luxury" station-adjacent housing. Maybe that's what makes it so luxurious--it's like having your own chauffeur that also drives around thousands of other people a day and stays on a set of tracks? I know not. I-25 and Broadway houses the next stop, and it certainly has ample parking as well as a plethora of included bus lines to transfer to. For park-n-rides, I don't really know which would be better, but I'd probably rather transfer trains at Alameda given the choice--less people means less fighting to get onto the train, at least, even if the train is crowded.

You just stand around hoping it shows up, then eventually the next one does. Maybe. Service is already thin with trains only running every 15 minutes or so at best, so when you miss your connection(s) the time lost starts adding up quickly. This morning the bus driver got lost which was a first, so I missed my train and was late to work. This didn't surprise me unfortunately, as I expect RTD to screw me over at least 10% of the time and they were about due. Leaving work the train simply didn't show up, so I missed the hourly bus back home. I'm currently standing in a shelter at Federal Center station, and in keeping with their policy of being awful, RTD decided the shelters should have holes in the sides so that the wind can pass straight through. There's plexiglass at the upper portion so if you stand on the bench it's less miserable, but it's really frustrating how bad this transportation agency is at all aspects of transportation.

There are plenty of places to eat and have a drink in and around Union Station (breakfast spot, coffee spot, at least 2 bars I'm aware of, etc). It really is a nice place to both begin and end trips. It is hard to explain but I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it. It is also a nice place to get some work done. There are plenty of places to sit and plug in. Keep in mind that the bathrooms downstairs are open to the public so you may see some interesting things and individuals there.

I love Cooper Lounge upstairs where you can get a classy espresso martini and have an elevated experience and watch the activity below. There is so much going on in all of the various wings of this place! A hotel, other restaurants, at Christmas there is a holiday popup in the basement, a ticketing station, etc! I've really only been to the main area and love the new beautiful installment of Pigtrain Coffee. I love the fancy pistachio pastry dessert at Baumé and the Christmas tree decor this past year was AMAZE. I feel like it represents a standard that people will experience throughout Denver in their travels like if they just arrived there via Union Station or are relatively new. It's a vibe of quality that permeates throughout.

At the very least a driver needs to be able to communicate basic English (the overwhelmingly spoken language in the US) so if there's an emergency they are able to notify the proper authorities and/or assist. When you aren't able to communicate with someone, especially someone you are paying for a service and that service involves something dangerous, like driving, it not only takes away from the customer experience which has only gotten worse with uber but it does not make the rider feel safe. I've also had drivers cussing on the phone with their boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife and just honestly being terrible at customer service. How are these people vetted? I've been in cars where multiple warning lights are on, there's noise coming from under the hood (not good noise) and quite frankly I have no idea how they are even on the road. One car had their child lock on the back doors, not remotely safe. Drivers who have literally been blasting their music, wildly inappropriate lyrics and loud (but I guess we don't care about common decency anymore) then when asked to turn it down I was told this is my car you can do what you want in yours. It's just gotten to a point where I'd almost rather take Lyft or a Taxi over Uber. At least with a taxi if you aren't able to communicate with them they are at least professional drivers.

The worst service ever. Where do I even start with this review... I hate to give bad reviews but at…read morethe same time I don't think it's fair how he treated my friends and I. Initially called last Tuesday and inquired for a party bus round trip service to red rocks for 16 people. Sam, the owner stated that his bus accommodated for up to 20 passengers, the bus has a great sound system, comfortable seats, and the he was able to take us to the round about in the north lot of Red Rocks Amphitheater. I scheduled the bus arrival at 6:30pm in lakewood for 16 passengers. The day of the event (Friday) Sam called and stated that he was running late due to traffic and he was going to be 10-15 minutes late. I expected him to arrive at 6:40pm. Once he arrived he stated that the pickup service was at 6:15pm.. What? First encounter with Sam was very unpleasant - he stated that i reserved the bus at 6:15pm, funny thing was that on his paper work, he wrote down '6:30pm'. Automatically he was accusing US for not being on time... The party bus itself is in horrible condition. No cushion on the seats, my friends and i were sitting on marble tiles and some of my friends were sitting in a broken sink in the bus. There is a sound system but only can be used by the bus driver (Sam). During the ride to red rocks, he wouldn't let any of my friends play music on the sound system. He had music playing on the bus but it was HIS music only. No offense on his music taste, but my friends and I don't listen to top 90's music.. I went ahead and walked up to Sam while he was driving and asked if we could change the music, he rudely responded that he did not want me near him. He did drive us half way to the top and we had to hike up to the north lot entrance of Red Rocks, I wanted to speak with Sam after the show since my friends and i were upset about the service. I asked him if we were able to talk after the show. But he demanded that we 'talked now'. Trying to hold a conversation with him was impossible, I was trying to explain to him that my friends were unhappy with the service and that the bus was falsely advertised. He was threatening my friends and i that he was going to leave us at red rocks. As my friends were trying to calm him down, he stated that he would stay if only I did not talk to him and stated that i needed to "shut my mouth". He then threatened that he was not willing to stay unless he got an additional $150 from us. My friends and I didn't want to be left behind at red rocks and ended up paying him an additional $150. I feel like he purposely wanted to start drama so that he was able to threaten us and get more money from us. Overall, the worst service I had in years. Sam is rude, unprofessional, and does not know anything about customer service. I don't appreciate how he threatened my friends and I that he was going to leave us at red rocks and demanded $150 extra; we are victims of a con-artist. Beware of Sam and his falsely advertised party bus!!!!
