Cute, chic hotel in a fun neighborhood. Recently renovated, clean and comfortable. The basic rooms are small by non-Parisian standards, but well laid-out and equipped all the same. Not a lot of hanging space in the closet. Comfortable bed, quiet at night. Bathroom was modern with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. There are some larger rooms on the bottom floor and in an adjacent building.
Breakfast was a good deal, German-style (Continental + cold cuts). Very large variety of meats, cheeses, baked goods, some wonderful jams, freshly-made crepes, good coffee. It was all-you-can eat for 16 euros, very pleasant way to start the day. It's served in a breakfast room off the lobby that becomes the hotel bar later in the day. Reception area and elevator were small, but everything seems to work out fine.
Hotel staff was pleasant and helpful.
Location is down the hill a little ways from the Arc de Triomphe, which is a transportation hub from which you can get anywhere in Paris (and with good connections to Charles de Gaulle, the larger of the two airports). You're within walking distance of the Champs Elysees and about half an hour away from the Eiffel Tower.
Walking distance to the Rue de Poncelet market street, where you could have fun grabbing some snacks there for later consumption in your room. (There are no cooking facilities, but there's a little space in the minibar to keep things cool and a hot water heater for coffee and tea). Very good wi-fi throughout the hotel, and a flat-screen cable-TV in the room, though only one English-language station. But you can watch movies on Amazon and I had a nice evening in with some cheese and snacks from the market.
There are many restaurant options within walking distance, from bistros to fine dining.
I'll be looking to book there on my next trip to Paris. read more
