Hotel cancelled my reservation two weeks before arrival.
I will not be staying at this hotel, which is disappointing. I booked in February 2015 for an October 2015 stay. I received an email from the travel booking site I used to make the reservation two weeks before my schedule arrival, advising that the hotel is saying that they are fully booked and will not honour my reservation. It is a very busy week in Cannes with a trade show, which is why I booked so far ahead. This leaves me in a terrible predicament with two weeks to go before arrival. Any comparable booking is going to cost me more than twice as much at this stage. Given how far in advance I booked, I can only assume that the hotel is taking advantage of the demand, and trying to cancel my reservation and to re-sell my room to someone who will pay a higher price. I think this is a despicable and shady business practice. I would encourage you to think twice about booking at this hotel since they seem to not honour their contracts. I entered into a good faith agreement with them via a travel website and was willing to pay the price listed. It seems very unfair and unprofessional to tell me now, so close to time of arrival, that they don't want to honour the booking. So book at your own risk, this hotel is unreliable at best. read more
