I am giving All American Appliance two stars due to the fact that their service period for us was…read moreover 3 months in length, and they ultimately were not able to fix our issue. We had them come service our dishwasher which was not working properly early December. The initial visit is ~$75 from what I recall, which gets applied towards parts and services if you choose to go with them. The service man determined we needed a new filter, so ordered the part for us. The total bill came to about $350 for service & parts. A couple of weeks later, just prior to Christmas, the serviceman installed the filter. Our dishwasher 'worked' for maybe a week or so, and then of course stopped over the Christmas holiday. They came back again after the new year to check out the problem. This time they ordered a different part and did explain if that did not fix the issue, we likely had a problem with the motherboard. Another few weeks went by, the part came in, they installed it, and paid another visit to tell us that the motherboard was shot and we would need to replace the whole dishwasher. All American does claim that their service & parts are guaranteed for a certain period of time. Due to the fact that our serviceman visited us about 4 times in total, they only actually refunded us about $150 for parts only. The refund from them took another few weeks of phone calls before we received it.

Upon the repairman coming to my home to repair the dryer, he did not open, move or inspect any…read moreportions. Prior to his arrival, I made sure to inform him of the style, model number and that the dryer is stackable. He looked at the dryer and then proceeded to go to the circuit breaker panel. He then informed me that the problem was electrical and I needed to seek the expertise of an electrician. I messaged him to ask what led him to believe the issue was electrical as it occurred to me that the washer & dryer are on the same circuit breaker and my washer worked. He never responded. After thoroughly checking the electric going into the dryer & into the wall as well as the electrical panel, the electrician determined there was no electrical issue. The electrician moved the dryer, pushed a button & turned a knob and the dryer began working. I called All American Appliance to speak with the manager or owner and no one responded to my call. After calling a second time, I was called back. The manager listened to what I had to say & then said he would speak to the repairman and call me back. I have yet to receive a call back. I feel that this company is dishonest in its practices and the customer service is poor at best. They charged me for a service call, only the circuit breaker was checked and nothing was resolved. The repairman made no attempt to inspect the dryer. I do not believe I should be charged for this service as the electrician clearly stated that it was a very simple repair and that the repairman did not do his job.

Staff is generally friendly though there are some people that look like they were hired to do…read morenothing and just hang out front. The manager should get out of his office to check this kind of useless behavior. Selection is typical Home Depot. They seem to be more well stocked than my California store but California is a shit show compared to NJ. They do have better " manager specials" which I appreciate. No bad experience really except for my first rant on employees that do nothing but hang out front. I prefer this location since it is also less crowded. Bought a grill over the summer and the guy helped us beyond the call of duty and that was really cool. Good showing by this store. Keep it stocked, keep front facing staff friendly and helpful; and it will be a gem.

And not to mention the return policy is very accommodating within reason. The staff are generally helpful and knowledgeable, though there are times when it can be hard to find someone for assistance, especially during busy hours. Genuinely the times I struggle the most with finding an associate is when I actually need help, such as unlocking some of the more expensive items or tools. I always joke with my boyfriend when I walk in knowing exactly what I'm buying I get flooded with assistance when I don't really need it. The store is well-organized, and I appreciate the option to check inventory online before heading in. Curbside pickup is a nice convenience, and they're usually quick with fulfilling pickup orders.

I chose them over a competitor twenty-five miles closer to me because of their reputation for honest dealing and skilled service technicians. Over the past twenty years, I have found this to be the case. I recently replaced my original dw with a new Asko from Ackerman's, whose technician and I ran into problems that called for an oscillating saw (neither of us had one and it would have taken an hour to locate and obtain one from a neighbor) but were solved with hammer, chisel, muscle, and skill (none of it mine). Really impressive.
