Currently, my favorite Matcha place in DFW. This is for sure the best tasting overall I've had. I'm still trying more places. I still wanna go to more places but as of right now, this is my favorite place. The quality is great. The flavor selection is awesome. They also rotate different flavors sometimes. And the price is honestly a lot better than a lot of these pop-ups I have been going to. There is enough seating, I wouldn't say there's a lot of seating. There's a couple tables in the back and a couple tables in the front enough for a few groups, but not a lot overall. If people don't camp the tables for hours on and I think it should be fine, but I haven't really seen it myself. I have only been on the weekends as well so I don't know how it is on a weekday. read more

Upon walking in, the studio vibe is very nice but the smell and cleanliness of the place threw me off. It smelled kind of strange / funky and it's a cute place to take pictures but I probably wouldn't sit down on any of the chairs. The cashier was really nice, answered questions, clarified my order, and had a really great smile! Our drinks looked absolutely amazing, great presentation and I really appreciated how they had lactose free whole milk available :) Top left: Blueberry Matcha - 4.5/5 This drink was very good but a bit too sweet for my liking. There were bits and pieces of what seemed to be cheesecake crust which were really delicious but I felt my back growing each time I took a sip Top right: Pandan Toast Matcha - 4.5/5 Very good if you are looking for a cinnamon toast matcha! I couldn't get much of the pandan flavor unfortunately but the cinnamon toast definitely came through. Pretty sweet but balanced with the matcha. Bottom Right: Jasmine Matcha - 5/5 This was my absolute favorite!! The jasmine flavor came through so well and didn't overpower the matcha, it totally worked hand in hand. Definitely recommend if you like a matcha that leans towards tea. Bottom Left: Oolong Matcha - 2.5/5 This was not something I enjoyed to be honest. I been wanting to try this place for a while & got to try it on national matcha day. I thought there would be a long wait since it's the weekend, but the service was fast & efficient. The yellow truck where you order was so cute. Afterwards you can either sit outside or go inside the store in front of the truck. I tried the einspãnner & the strawberry shortcake matcha. Both of them were pretty good. I did wish that the einspãnner was a little creamier. I would say that I should've gotten the matcha madness (strawberry matcha) rather than the strawberry shortcake. This place is really popular! Non stop traffic. The girl who checked us out was very nice. I got the matcha madness (plain strawberry matcha) and it I could tell the matcha and strawberry was super fresh. If you like things on the sweeter side like me, I'd suggest asking for extra strawberry and/or condensed milk. I had to ask for more to adjust. For the longest time I've been wanting to try this place because my coworkers kept talking about this place. I tried this place about a month or two ago and ever since, I've been coming back so often. I've been bringing my classmates and out of town friends to this place. It's so aesthetic and a great place for matcha. So many options starting from the drink itself and different options for milk plus different kinds of matcha to get! Service is great as well. The jasmine blossom was my favorite, with the floral notes really standing out. The yuzu creamsicle tasted like a matcha with a scoop of the honey citron tea that you can get at an Asian market. Our favorite drinks would be the Strawberry Shortcake, Blueberry Shortcake, and the Jamais Vu (limited time). The blueberry shortcake is less sweet than the strawberry one, making the drink more balance. The Jamais Vu is topped with brown banh mi butter crumble, toasted banh mi syrup, and we went for Viet coffee as the base. The drink is well-balanced and the coffee wasn't too strong. It's been awhile since I've been back to Hyphen Space in Dallas, I was in the area and had been craving their drinks for a fat minute. They had to close for a bit of time but now they are back in a trailer right in front of their space! I came during a weekday evening and there was no line and plenty of street parking. My cousin got their new special drink, the Jamais Vu. It's a phin dripped coffee or matcha with brown butter Banh mi crumbles and a condensed milk cloud cap. They make a special toasted Banh mi syrup for this drink! The combination sounds very weird but this drink was actually sooo gooooood. Matcha was very solid and the banh mi crumbles are a really nice touch, I would order this again. I decided to try something different this time and got the strawberry shortcake. It's made with condensed milk, strawberry compote, a cloud cap, and cookie crumbles. If you like dessert drinks then this may be for you. The strawberry and matcha go pretty well together and the crumbles on top were a nice touch. Also tried the matcha yuzuade from my brother. It has a touch of yuzu syrup and is more citrusy. It's like a more refreshing matcha. Also got the pandamonium (pandan matcha) and jasmine matcha for my cousins. I'd say my favorite is still the matcha einspanner. read more

Finally--a matcha that isn't overwhelmingly sweet! I was impressed to learn that their default sweetness level is already around 60% of what most other places use. I asked them to cut it in half from there, and it was perfect. I went with the Pandan Matcha Latte, partly because pandan isn't a flavor you typically see paired with matcha. And they were sold out of their jasmine. The blend was well balanced, especially with the reduced syrup--letting the matcha really shine through without being masked by sweetness. Their latte wasn't the best -- the standard two-shot serving isn't customizable, so there's no option to add an extra shot if you prefer a stronger brew. The coffee-to-milk ratio also felt a bit off for anyone who enjoys a bolder coffee flavor. The line was fairly long but moved at a good pace, especially considering there was only one dedicated person hand whisking each matcha. They also have a unique concept: you're paying for the space, not just the drink. It's $8 for an hour to sit and enjoy your drink in-store, or you can skip the sitting and take your drink to go but it's the same price. It was very much worth the price as it was maybe a 16oz cup of matcha! Now I usually don't feel the caffeine from any matcha I've had before, but this matcha got me caffeinated through the drive back home. The baristas were all very sweet and answered any questions. Hyphen Space is one of the better matcha places in DFW. I got the "Yuzu Creamsicle" and it was good. It's a perfect blend of matcha and sweet taste with a touch of creaminess. I like it that both of their milk choices are lactose free. This is a very small store. If there's a lot of people, the fit will be tight. The parking situation can be an issue as well because a lot of times you will have to park on the street. I believe there's a small parking lot at the end of the building complex? I visited hyphen space with my friend this past Sunday morning to give some of their drinks a try and check out the space. This place is a coworking space that also serves drinks and snacks. You can purchase an hour pass or a drink at the counter, both are the same price ($8) and come with a drink. They also sell day passes for $25 a day which come with two drinks and a snack. There is free street parking around the place but be careful as you might hit the curb opening your door as the curbs are a bit higher here. When we got to hyphen space, there was a line to the door (about 10- 13 people ahead) and it took around 30 minutes before we got to order. I would say that's pretty quick considering each drink is hand whisked and prepped. It looked like majority of the people in line were groups of people who visited together so that made the line go by quick. Most of the seating appeared to be in the front where the line was and I can see how it can be difficult to enjoy the coworking space on busy days as the line blocks half of the seats. I recommend coming on a weekday if you are looking to do some work/studying there. My friend and I ordered a total of 4 drinks: Lychee Dreams - this was a boba plug classic that I enjoyed back in their popup days. It is just as good and refreshing as I remember. It is a little pricey for the price point but not as pricey as how it was back in their popup days. Jasmine Blossom - I had high hopes for this one but was a little disappointed with how bitter the jasmine was. The drink itself was a lot less sweet than I prefer, and I am someone who normally gets less sugar at every place I go to. We did not adjust the sugar for this drink or any of the other drinks we ordered in this visit. Strawberry Shortcake - I feel like this drink had too much of the strawberry compote which made it smoothie consistency. This is more like a dessert drink as it was overtly sweet and felt pretty thick drinking it. I personally wasn't a fan of this one but I can see how it can be good for people who view matcha as more as a dessert. Black Sesame Bonanza - this was my least favorite drink out of the ones I tried in this visit. I thought the flavors would do well together but after trying it I don't know anymore. The drink itself has chunks of banana in it which caught me off guard. I would have enjoyed this more if the banana was puréed so that it mixed more with the black sesame. This is another matcha drink that is more on the thick side and is more of a dessert drink. Overall, I see the vision but don't recommend going here on the weekends if you are looking for a place to chill with friends. My boyfriend's and my new favorite spot for matcha in town :') It's definitely a long drive from Plano/Allen/Frisco, but once in a while for a sweet treat and some really solid matcha...there is a reason why this place blew up so much. The space is interesting, and they work as a work space where you purchase "time" and the drink comes "free". Great Stop on my Dallas Matcha Tour ! This place went viral online and I was curious if it would live up to the hype. The actual Hyphen space is a physical location but the drinks were from their trailer parked right outside their business. When I arrived there was a long line but it moved quickly and from the time I ordered until I got my drinks took about 20 minutes which I felt was excellent given its popularity. The menu had several drink options but we opted for the strawberry shortcake matcha, regular strawberry matcha, yuzu creamsicle matcha, and their specialty lychee matcha. All drinks were made with the recommended matcha and served over ice. My group felt that all the drinks were perfectly sweet and the unique flavors were fun to try. Strawberry shortcake was extra sweet and perfect for lovers of strawberry shortcake icecream. The yuzu creamsicle is very unique and paired great with the matcha.
