In fact, he has cured several persistent injuries. He does not do a one size fits all workout. He knows my many injuries and understands my goals. We spent a few months focused on workouts, but then he added nutritional coaching which has been life changing. I have seen huge changes in my strength and body since working with him. It's been a year now, and despite months of travel and an unpredictable schedule, I am changed from his coaching. I have been active my whole life (former dancer), but I had no idea what a difference a personal coach makes. He's always with me and I look forward to seeing him. At the SM location I've trained with Martine, Conrad, and Sean and, as usual, all are well trained, know their shit, pay attention, and are fantastic trainers! They keep you motivated. Clean facilities and everybody gets their own squat rack for an hour. Time is our most precious non renewable resource in our hectic lives. To get in a full body workout without waiting to share equipment and not spend any mental energy and time programming my workouts makes this membership a great value. 2. It's not HIIT, it's pure strength training using barbells and dumbbells. With 2-3 minutes of rest in between sets. 3. The classes are small and maybe 10 people at the most. It is more of a semi private training experience - all the attention and individualized focus of a top trainer with the social benefits of being part of a positive community. 4. Fast Results. Pure and simple. I've done it all: F45, Barry's, Orangetheory, Indoor Cycling, Hot yoga, kickboxing, etc. I am the strongest, leanest I've ever been and because my metabolism has skyrocketed by adding muscle mass, it's so freeing not to watch calories anymore.

Training with him three times a week never gets old. He pushes me hard, guides me through every movement, and consistently tailors each session to my evolving goals. That's the real magic of personal training: the hour is entirely focused on you. Last summer I set a goal to run a 5K, and now I'm training for a 10K in September. Alexander added endurance work right into our sessions without missing a beat. Manny is also a wonderful presence at the studio, and I'm deeply grateful the trainers and program for keeping me strong and healthy all these years. The program itself follows structured training phases, but every workout is built around your individual goals and gets more challenging as the weeks progress. The three-day-a-week commitment over sixty days is a genuine game changer. I was never someone who thrives training solo and group classes were more my thing for years, but nothing compares to the accountability and intensity of working 1:1 with a great trainer. The studio has grown too. The Study has moved to a larger space off Pico and Euclid, parking is never an issue, and the new location features a cold plunge, sauna, and a private massage room where Nayra -- a truly world-class therapist works her magic. It's a serious treat after a hard session. The space is clean, the equipment is top of the line, and the trainers are meticulous about keeping everything wiped down. The energy is positive and motivating; watching other clients show up early and stay for a run later, and push themselves harder day after day is genuinely inspiring. As someone who spent years paying for gym memberships at major health club chains, I am thrilled to have made the switch to The Study, an independently owned and operated studio that focuses on personal, customized training. The trainers helped keep me accountable for my fitness goals and customized a program that accommodated my work schedule. Alexander is a knowledgable and professional instructor who seems truly invested in the progress of his clients. He has a deep understanding of exercise physiology, and is skilled at developing workout plans that maximize results and gradually build in intensity over time. My sessions with him are always challenging yet fun. On top of that, he is pleasant to be around and easy to talk to. I always look forward to my sessions with him and I cannot recommend him enough! The Study also recently expanded their offerings to include electromyostimulation (EMS) workouts, which involve wearing a suit with built-in electrodes that target and stimulate specific muscles while you exercise. I was initially reluctant to try this out, but after completing a session led by Karen, I can say it was a unique and interesting adjunct to conventional strength training. Karen was friendly & enthusiastic and I hope to have more sessions with her in the future. I am very pleased with the progress I have made since starting at The Study. I was applying…read moreto local gyms but I didn't feel confident during the interviews that I could provide that value that trainers should give to their clients. Being certified does not mean you are qualified to train someone. If I could do it all again I would have never gotten my NASM-CPT and I would have gotten my SUF-CPT. I am taking the SUF internship course and I really love it. You can ask any question you want during class and they will not only answer it but they will show you why this is the answer and physically demonstrate why it works in front of you. You do not learn by starring into a whiteboard or book but by physically applying what you have learned in class. This ingrains the material, also they repeat a lot of the anatomy which will feel a bit overwhelming at first but you will absolutely understand it later in the course when it comes to the different muscles, bones, ligaments and tendons that make up the human body. This really is a diamond in the rough and I wish I would have found this place earlier. It takes all the fear and doubt away and replaces it with the confidence you need to be an exceptional trainer in a market full of mediocre personal trainers.
