Lashawn is a fantastic personal trainer. I've worked with him for several sessions, and it's clear that he's not only highly dedicated but also incredibly knowledgeable. The workout sessions have been great! They've been undoubtedly some of the most challenging workouts I've ever experienced, but that is exactly what I was looking for in a personal training session - someone who pushes me while understanding my limits. In addition to the intense workouts, Lashawn places a strong emphasis on nutrition. He has already begun guiding me in setting realistic goals to clean up my diet to help me achieve the results I am aiming for. This is definitely an aspect that I am excited to continue working on and an element I have not seen offered by other personal trainers. I can't recommend Lashawn enough to anyone looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable personal trainer who's not only committed to helping you achieve your goals but also deeply cares about your overall well-being. He's the real deal! read more

ENVYS Personal Training - Trainers Near Me - Santa Monica, California

I had never lifted a weight in my life before I met Lashawn. He is so positive and motivating. He knows his work well. I always feel safe working with him. In fact, he has cured several persistent injuries. He does not do a one size fits all workout. He knows my many injuries and understands my goals. We spent a few months focused on workouts, but then he added nutritional coaching which has been life changing. I have seen huge changes in my strength and body since working with him. It's been a year now, and despite months of travel and an unpredictable schedule, I am changed from his coaching. I have been active my whole life (former dancer), but I had no idea what a difference a personal coach makes. He's always with me and I look forward to seeing him. I highly recommend Envys Personal Training to everyone I care about. read more

I have been working with Lashawn for 6 months after not being active for years. There are two things I consider crucial in personal training and Lashawn excels at both of them. The first is his character and the second his professionalism and knowledge of the field. Lashawn is one of the most genuine, friendly and nice people i know. He is humble, open minded and very easy to be friends with. The second factor is his knowledge in personal training, physical therapy, and kinesiology. As a person who was a "gym rat" in his college years it was really eye opening to see what and how i was doing things wrong. Lashawn's obsession with correct form and technique virtually guarantees your safety from injury. This doesn't mean you won't work hard in your workouts, quite the contrary i sweated more in some of his workouts than I did rowing crew. With exercises that are unique, you will train some muscles, at ranges, that you never knew existed. Overall I can say that Lashawn is awesome, and I'm looking forward to working with him again in the future. read more

I've been working out with Lawshawn for 5 months now and it's been one of the best things I've ever done for myself. With his help I broke through a weight loss plateau and dropped 20~ pounds. He provides challenging but rewarding workout plans, great nutritional advice, and a charming personality that makes working out at 7 in the morning tolerable. One thing that I really like about Lawshawn as a trainer is the weight and body fat measurements to track progress. That level of detailed tracking helps me course correct when I fall off the wagon, and realize the progress that I'm making when I don't actually see it. read more

It's been six months that I've been training with Lashawn and I can honestly say that I've never felt better or more confident in my body than I do today. I started working with Lashawn during the pandemic, when things were pretty dismal and I was tired of doing online workouts in my apartment. Training with him outside at a local park, his kindness, great attitude and genuine care have made all the difference. He gently pushed me to challenge myself and try moves I didn't think I could do. We kept progressing to new levels...and suddenly I was doing weighted barbell squats! If you have a fitness goal you want to reach, Lashawn is determined to help you get there. I receive compliments on my body all the time now. I feel so strong and motivated to keep moving forward and I'm grateful to Lashawn for his dedication to his craft and for helping me create this positive change in my life. read more

I have been training with Lashawn for about 3 months now and have been extremely impressed with the results that I have seen. I was initially a little nervous to start training because I consider myself a highly uncoordinated and unathletic individual, but he tailored our workouts to fit where I'm at, in combination with reaching my personal goals and objectives. In the crazy COVID-19 world that we live in I'm super excited that I found a trainer who relocated his business outdoors to some of the loveliest parks in Santa Monica. He is extremely diligent about maintaining social distancing and wiping down all of the equipment that we use as well. Lashawn is extremely professional, and perhaps more importantly, he is that he is an absolute pleasure to be around. You get in a great workout but hardly notice because you're having such a fun time. read more

Lashawn is an outstanding trainer; he's knowledgable, personable, has a great disposition, and is a great motivator. I've been working with him for the last 6 months, and am very pleased with my progress. My goals going in were to get stronger, more muscular, and to get inspired to be healthier overall. The workout program he created for me was challenging but never discouraging, and includes nutritional advice which has led me to eat better. Unlike some other trainers I've had in the past, I really look forward to these sessions. I highly recommend Lashawn to help you meet your goals in a fun, inspiring, and supportive setting. read more

Five bright stars for Lashawn's services. I have never ever been consistently active. Scouting for a personal trainer in Santa Monica of all places was daunting, but I was fortunate enough to find Lashawn. I told Lashawn my goals and explained that I'm a total newbie. He customized a plan that would allow me to progress steadily without scaring me away. It worked, because even after a couple of weeks I started to feel results in endurance, and I didn't feel like I was pushing myself to the point of dread. What I appreciate most is that every session is different and creative, so I'm never bored. He's also super easy going, well-mannered, and is in no way condescending. At 6 am, I'd rather be sleeping, but Lashawn makes even a crack-of-dawn call enjoyable. The only negative thing is I can say is that now I don't think I could ever work out without him! read more

Training and working out with Lashawn was an absolute pleasure! From the first session, I could immediately tell how knowledgeable he is as a fitness trainer. I'm always completely comfortable and excited to train with Lashawn. I was really eager to get back into my fitness goals and I learned so much about both nutrition and workouts from him. Lashawn is also just a really nice and kind trainer, so I'd definitely recommend him to anyone of all fitness levels! read more

Visit Date 2015 on going My sum up word: Bootylicious - Average star rating: 5* Full summary: Envys Fitness is brilliant, best choice I've made with my fitness ever! I've never been fat but I didn't like the weight I carried around my hips. Now I don't have it any more, and thats because I have the best personal trainer in LA. I told Lashawn from Envys Fitness that I wanted to get rid of my body fat and get super toned. Ive been seeing Lashawn for three months, I'm so happy with what we've achieved so far. When I first started I found it all so hard but Lashawn was really patient and took things at my pace, encouraging me to push on. He explained how to do all the exercises correctly and what part of the body they work. Now I am more confident in what I am doing, we push a bit harder and it's really fun. Lashawn has also taught me how and what to eat so that I can sustain a diet of healthy eating, I understand what foods do and also what and when to eat them. We track my foods on My Fitness Pal and Lashawn helps me with questions and tips. I eat more now than i've ever done but i'm half the size. Its great, I'm never hungry. I also really liked the fact that I knew the university where Lashawn studied for his degree in sports science and the gyms he worked in during his early career, I was very confident I was in good hands. Lashwan comes out to the gym in my apartment block but Envys Fitness has a private gym that client can go to, but will train you outside if you want as well. I've been working with Lashawn for about four months, and I'm really pleased with the results. My general fitness level has improved dramatically, and I actually get fired up to wake up early in the morning and hit the gym -- something I've never done. Every session with Lashawn is unique, but after a few months I've started to recognize some method to the madness. Lashawn pays careful attention to my progress and introduces new techniques while making the older ones progressively more challenging. Just sitting here writing this, it's pretty remarkable how much progress we've made together. I definitely couldn't have done it without a trainer, and I don't think I would have stuck with a trainer this long if it wasn't Lashawn. He's a good dude, and he really knows his stuff. The gym where we train is especially great. It's small, private, stylish, and very clean, with a good community vibe and great location. Worlds better than training at a corporate megagym. read more

Lashawn is great! He did a 1 hour circuit session with me and my 2 friends. He knows how to motivate and push you to really get the most out of the workout. He was also good at tailoring each circuit for each of us as we were on different fitness levels. He is also very encouraging and was giving tips on diet and told us not to stress about little indulgences (pizza) as long as we keep to healthy habits. We came out of it feeling motivated and confident with our bodies! I definitely recommend him!! Plus he has some great workout music :) read more

I worked out with Lashawn for nearly a year. He's a great trainer and a great friend. He helped me get into shape in time for my wedding and overall provided the best experience that I've had with any trainer (I've probably worked with four or five at various times over the years). He makes the whole process enjoyable, but still pushes you and holds you accountable. Terrific results. Highly recommend. read more

My husband had trained with Lashawn for three years, and I had trained with Lashawn for half a year before we moved from Santa Monica back to the bay area. We both liked Lashawn as a personal trainer and as a great friend. As a personal trainer, he was responsible, and accountable. He pushed us to work out regularly and challenged our limit. Every workout was different and focused on different parts of the body. He paid attention to our posture, and made sure that we didn't injure ourselves. At the same time, he focused on losing weight and getting fit sustainable. He wouldn't suggest workouts that were too crazy nor set up goals impossible to achieve. He asked us about our diet and gave us suggestions if we ate badly or encouragement if we ate well. Lashawn's sessions were always fun, and we ended up becoming friends after a few sessions. We are now missing him as a personal trainer and a friend in the bay area! read more

Leshawn is such a good trainer. His knowledge is top notch and he is a great motivator. He is the type of guy you look forward to go work out with. If I could give him 6 stars I would!!! read more

Before seeking out a trainer I had briefly been working out on my own which gradually came to a stop as things became stale and repetitive. While I was initially hesitant about the whole idea I quickly came to look forward to sessions with Lashawn as each one was varied and unique. While he will push you as a trainer should, he's extremely receptive to any discomfort and will quickly change tack to something else if necessary. Above all he's more concerned about good form than maxing out reps every single time which is important. After about a year my original weight gain goal has pretty much been reached, and I don't want to stop! By far the most important benefit I've seen is a lifestyle change for myself. As we've all been forced indoors these last couple of months I'm happy to say I haven't stopped working out even at home. Probably would never have been able to say that had I not meet Lashawn. He also knows his stuff so he can get as in-depth with you regarding nutrition and habits as is necessary to reach your goals. Also helps that he's a pretty personable guy and not at all the drill sergeant many people think of when they think of personal trainers. Whenever gyms open again I'll be back, and whatever your goals are, I'm sure he'll have you covered. Highly recommended! read more

I have an aggressive form of arthritis which many trainers do not understand...Lashawn got it from day one and in a short time has helped rehabilitate me to where I am mobile without pain. On top of that I am stronger and more toned. His knowledge and expertise shows in what he does and my experience with him proves it. Bonus - he is the sweetest guy ever! read more

Lashawn is an amazing personal trainer right in Santa Monica. He is dedicated to what he does and you can tell he is truly passionate about fitness and motivating his clients to be the best they can be. He can customize a perfect workout for your goals and has a special way of pushing you to achieve them but making you feel great the entire time. He is very knowledgeable and focuses on functional fitness and building strength that will benefit you in all areas of your life. He will help you loose weight/fat and build strength and lean muscle! He has a private gym on Colorado with everything you need. I love that I don't need to think at all, I just show up and he has the perfect workout for me. So much better than going to the gym! I've already recommended him to some of my co-workers at the office that wanted to know my secret to staying in such good shape! If you are thinking about getting a trainer, Lashawn is the best, you will have no regrets, you will just want more! read more

If you are looking for a great trainer in Santa Monica look no further, Lashawn is very professional and makes working out not seem like such a drag. I'm definitely not a workout fanatic but I like the fact that each workout has been different and that Lashawn challenges and pushes me to my limit without being intimidating or overbearing as some other trainers may be. He has also given me tips on how to eat healthier to help with my weight loss goal, and is pretty flexible with his schedule which makes it easy to book a time to work out. The workout facility is very nice, clean, and private most of the time there's no one else there but yourself and the trainer which is great if you are a bit self conscious or simply don't like to workout in crowded places. Overall, I highly recommend Lashawn for any of your fitness needs. read more

I know Lashawn from back when he trained at Equinox. He has a great understanding of how the body works and getting the best performance out of you. Lashawn's training style is functional workouts that are always different and specific to your goals. Lashawn always comes to sessions with high infectious energy that helps to start your day off right. He is very flexible with his schedule and understanding when it comes to late cancellations due to work. The studio where Envys Personal Training is located at, is in prime location in Santa Monica. It is very exclusive. The studio resembles a spa and the customer service is as good as a top class spa also. The studio has all the equipment you can think off; Kettle bells, cardio machines, barbells, battle ropes are just to name a few. I highly recommend training with Envys Personal Training. No other investment will bring you this much happiness! read more

I have been working out with Lashawn for almost a year, and it has been the best! When I started, I was really out of shape (thanks, Covid) and Lashawn worked with me through my goals + an injured ankle to get me fit again. He is extremely knowledgable about weight lifting and nutrition, and has a great balance of pushing you in your goals while being positive and supportive. He is in general just a nice and fun person, which makes the workout more enjoyable and the time fly by! Highly recommend :) read more

I had never had a personal trainer before, and very little gym experience (other than running on a treadmill) before starting training with Lashawn. I like our sessions because they're a good balance between stretching and exercises, but also because Lashawn takes time to explain the right way to do the exercises and he puts a lot of emphasis on form. I appreciate him being so patient while explaining and while I figure it out. I also like that he teaches me about the right things to eat and when, and the mechanics and reasons behind it. The facility is also great for my needs. It's a small and private place, and I prefer that to a crowded gym. Most of the times I go there I'm the only one there, which I love. It's also clean and modern looking, and the towels smell amazing. :) read more

Envys Fitness are great! I was working on getting my body fat down with Lashawn for 5 months. I had lower back pain which had always made it hard for me to workout. Lashawn found the source of my pain which actually happened to be in my calfs. After a slow start of mostly rehabilitation work to correct my muscle imbalances including increasing flexibility in my calf we were ready to tackle my main goals. With no back pain and corrected posture I was able to perform all the exercises lashawn had presided for me. I liked that he didn't just throw me in at the deep end but instead demonstrated a clear progression of exercise difficulty as my ability increased. Lashawn is extremely knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology of the body. He explains why we do every exercise. Nutrition was also something that I drastically had to change. I didn't realize how bad I was eating until Lashawn showed me. Together we created lifestyle habits that will last my life time. For example the 80/20 rule. Meaning 80% strict 20% able to enjoy less nutritious foods. I had to stop training due to my work moving to New York but if I had stuck in LA I would definitely still be training with Lashawn. I now consider Lashawn not only my trainer and fitness guru but a good friend! Email him now! It will be the best investment you ever make. read more

I started training with Lashawn after badly injuring my back while working out alone. I just finished healing when we had our first session. I needed somebody that would be able to help me get in shape despite some physical limitations. In short, I needed someone who knew what they were doing! He immediately helped with my posture and form. He zeroed in on my muscular imbalances and worked with me to help strengthen them. His workouts were varied and progressively more challenging each week. All my workouts end feeling like I gave it my all. My squat form vastly improved with his help. Lashawn is just a good, fun, guy to workout with. He cares about health and fitness and it rubs off on you. read more

I started working with Lashawn about two months ago and I am already seeing great results. So far I have lost about 2.5% body fat and have increased my strength and muscle definition a lot. Beyond that, he has also helped correct my posture and increased my overall confidence. Lashawn is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and personable. He keeps me accountable in and out of the gym by asking me what I am eating and what workouts I'm doing on the days we don't train together. On top of all the awesomeness that is Lashawn, the studio is extremely clean, the equipment is great, and parking is easy to find. I am excited to continue training with Lashawn and be in the best shape of my life! read more

Okay, so you know how when someone says personal trainer, you think oh, some douchey guy who is going to yell in my face the whole time and be slightly condescending, and possibly call me "bro". Well, I don't know about you, but I don't respond well to that, so when I went looking around for one, I was a bit skeptical and expected the worst. I came across what looked like a good trainer, who I discovered was not taking on new clients, and he referred me to Lashawn. Oh my god, best experience ever. He knew how to push me to accomplish more without being at all insulting. He was more like a highly knowledgeable friend than a teacher. I felt at ease the entire time, and he could easily tell when I was really at my limit or just giving up early. He pushed me to reach my potential while being polite, professional, personable, and also funny. He also kept my diet on track to help me achieve my own personal goals for my fitness. If you are looking for a trainer that knows his shit, but isn't a condescending ass, then I can't think of anyone I would recommend more than Lashawn. :) read more

I've been working out with Lashawn for a few weeks now. We are working out at IRON Santa Monica. It started with a free evaluation to assess my level and if we were a good fit. I decided to continue my journey with him. We adjusted the number of weekly trainings based on my schedule. It's been great for me to not worry about working out. I don't have to think much, I just need to show up. I don't need to worry about what exercises to do. I don't need to track the weights of my exercises. I don't need to worry about my form and worry that I'll injure myself. I don't need to figure out which muscles are not supporting my goals. All of that is taken care of by Lashawn and that makes working out more enjoyable and accessible for someone like me that isn't very athletic. read more

I found out about Envys Personal Training about 8 months ago and I was looking for a fitness change, now keep in mind that this is my first time having a personal trainer... So I was very unsure what to expect but I would say that I had made the best decision, he is very skilled and knowledgable at what he does. Lashawn asks about what your weaknesses and strengths when it comes to doing cardio, lifting, etc. which at first I was hesitant to tell him what I desire to accomplish however he made it very comfortable because of his professional yet friendly approach. Also I am a big foodie which means I eat what I want whenever I want and never really cared for what I eat but when i started training with him, he gave me an insight to what a clean diet should be. As of today I still carry on with my diet routine and thats all because of how great and informative he was. My training with him throughout the weeks, I would say... impressive because I saw improvement with what I thought I wasn't capable of. Also I would definitely recommend him if you're looking for a personal trainer that will help you meet your goals. Not only I had gained knowledge about my personal fitness needs but I have also gained a friend. I would absolutely continue training with him to improve my next level stamina in the near future. read more

Lashawn is great and the studio we train at is fantastic! I was looking around the west side for a qualified trainer at a convenient location (parking never a problem!) and I definitely found it. He keeps the workouts diverse and fun. I have definitely seen the progress in my own fitness I was looking for. If you are looking for a knowledgeable trainer who is easy to get along with at completely reasonable rates for private training then look no further. Highly recommend. read more

Lashawn is great trainer - I was working out down the street at one of the big name gyms and got tired of the insane prices for personal training. I started training with Lashawn, which was a much more personal experience in a really nice, private gym, and he also helped me realize I wasn't aligned well as I did exercises. Every session is fun and different, I don't have think about it and the hour goes by super fast, and I get great results. Plus he's just a super nice person. Couldn't be happier! read more

Lashawn is an incredible personal trainer. He ensures that clients are safe and will avoid injuries while working out by precisely watching your form and providing great examples. On top of that, his sessions are always interesting - he has creative and innovative workouts and is always learning on his own time to show clients new fitness activities (i.e. indoor circuit workouts, outdoor hikes with stair exercises). Not only is he a great trainer, but he's an amazing friend! He wants to get to know you as a person and interlaces conversation and questions into sessions to personally get to know you. He's creating an experience, not just a transaction! read more

I highly recommend Lashawn for personal training. He helped me lose weight before my wedding this past spring. A few reasons why I think working with Lashawn is a great choice (1) he is adaptable / willing to work with you on whatever your goals are, big or small (2) the gym he works at in Santa Monica is clean, convenient, and overall nice (3) most importantly, I was really pleased with the results. Sessions were highly variable and never boring. Lashawn is kind, supportive, and fun to be around. Highly recommend!! read more

Lashawn at ENVYS Personal Training is one of the best personal trainers in Santa Monica. I started training with Lashawn in Jan 2016 after a friend introduced me to him. Lashawn's attention to form is second to none which for someone with historic back problems, is critical. He changes up the sessions every time which keeps things very fresh, challenging and dare I say, enjoyable! He is tough but encouraging - he challenges me beyond what I perceive my limit to be ... and each time he is right! As I sometimes travel for work, he has given me workouts to do while I am on the road, which is great. While I have a gym in my complex, I prefer to workout at his gym - it is private, fully equipped, spotlessly clean, great amenities, everyone is so friendly and the coffee is great! I have worked with many trainers over the years and Lashawn is the best I have found. Not only is he a professional, knowledgeable and dedicated trainer, he is also a really great guy. We always have a laugh during the sessions as well :) I highly recommend that you give him a shout - he will work with you to ensure you reach whatever your health and fitness goals are! read more

I had almost given up on working out due to a foot injury. I tried CrossFit, then yoga, both of which aggravated the injury. Ice, braces, new shoes...I was still limping more often than not. I decided to give a personal trainer a try. And after 6 months my foot is fixed and my fitness level is better than its been in years. The difference is Lashawn's attention to form. Where other trainer I've worked out with just pushed for intensity, he is constantly offering corrections that make each rep more effective. If you're looking for a trainer who knows how to safely improve your fitness while minimizing injuries, I highly recommend Lashawn. read more

Lashawn is an amazing trainer! He works to understand individual goals and adjust your diet and workout plan. He always shows up in the morning with a great attitude, keeping me on my toes. I've seen great results after only a few months, definitely recommend giving Lashawn a try! read more
