The Home Depot - Vanity was broken by forklift

Can't understand the three-star reviews. I've had such wonderful luck with all of the committed…read moreemployees at this Castleton branch. I ordered French Doors. Alyson and Norinder - I may have spelled that wrong - were wonderful. The other Home Depots I have been to said that they didn't carry the type of French doors that I wanted. Clearly that wasn't the case. Also, we were looking for a screen door that had a certain kind of screen. Castleton didn't have it, but Alyson called another Home Depot - they had it and she had to put it behind the desk, so we could go pick it up. I had been to two other Home Depots whose employees didn't offer to do that, so I was especially impressed with that level of customer service. Also, the phone tree is very short and you can actually talk to a person very quickly. The people working at the front customer service desk are always very helpful too. Employees also seem to like to be there. That generally starts at the top, so it must be a well-managed location.

Dreadful experience. I ordered a vanity and paid cash for it. It was delivered with plastic wrap…read moreneatly placed around the box. The box however, had been pierced with a forklift at the HomeDepot warehouse. Of course it was broken but they shipped it anyway. Then I had to fight to get it picked up. And the best part, they can't replace it. I need to wait for the refund (5-7 days) and then reorder. WAS EVERYONE ON MUSHROOMS? They won't even replace the junk that they sent out to you. Don't bother buying from Home Depot, they think customer service is against the law.

As all my friends and relatives know, Menards is my favorite store. I've loved it since they opened…read morethe first Indy location in the former Target on Pendleton Pike back in the early 1990's. With many remodeling projects, I know I've saved tens of thousands of dollars over the years. I've joked that if they started carrying beer, I wouldn't need to shop anywhere else (they have Lottza Motta frozen pizza, what other hardware store can claim that?). I mostly go to the Fishers store now. I find the staff to be friendly and helpful and there's comraderie among them. I appreciate the family-owned Wisconsin/Northwoods culture and look forward to the weekly ads. I have never had any issues with missing rebates or returns. The website is excellent, it even tells you what aisle and shelf to find an item on. Menards makes shopping fun.

I must be broken, because whenever I see a Menards or hear someone say Menards, I immediately think…read moreabout a guy getting kicked in the stones, exclaiming, "Oh! Me nards!" But really, how could you not? The name of this place is Menards! Anyway, I visited this Menards, thinking, "Me nards! Me nards!" over and over in my head as I went in search of some indoor plants. But what do you know: They must not have indoor plants in late fall, because I could find nary a one. They didn't even have any outdoor plants. Apparently, Menards is not the place to find plants of any kind when the weather turns cold. So I walked around to see if maybe they were hiding the plants somewhere else, and I came across aisles of pet products, Christmas trees, patio furniture, paint, and lots of other things. Menards seems to be a one-stop-shop for home improvement. Parking is plentiful, and it's easy to get on and off the interstate.
