The shop sits next door to LePeep, so after LePeeps, take a second to pop in. I am so excited for Brooke who continues to make her dreams come true. She started painting furniture in her home, and now her business has grown into this beautiful shop. Brooke still paints furniture if you are considering updating an item. She painted a small cupboard for me and did a nice job. The shop is filled with gift items, home decor from furniture to soy candles, vases, greenery, pottery, mirrors, table lamps to floor lamps, Artisan tea towels, wooden lazy susan, artisan dessert plates to framed watercolors to name a just a few items. They even carry a few gifts for a new baby. You can purchase an adorable, sweet swaddling blanket and a precious "My First Snuggled Bunny." To cute!! I was surprised to find the ever popular Taylor Swift designs with tee shirts, stickers for a phone, cooler, notebook, or laptop. As you can imagine, they sell out fast. If you are interested in Indy 500 decor, then you most likely have seen Justin Patten's artwork. His cavased printed artwork comes ready to frame. I stopped by toward the end of the year and they had a nice selection of holiday-themed items. The store is of course geared toward home furnishings but they have some gift-type items as well. As far as I can tell, they most likely rotate what they showcase in the store as the season goes but many things can be purchased online. During my visit, they happened to be doing a monthly wine tasting and I proceeded to sample several wines. The wines can be purchased in-store and online. Even during these times I would like to "see" things as I shop (but maybe don't "touch"?), and Two Chicks District Co. is worth a visit. The store isn't big but depending of when you go it won't be a full house. I chatted with the staff during the wine tasting, and I am sure they will be knowledgeable and helpful with your shopping needs.

The staff in the store were all real friendly and they held our items at the counter as we shopped to keep our hands free for more items, yes that is a problem Just kidding, nice of them to do. I failed to get through the entire store so I will have to make a return trip, my friends are faster than me as I like to look at absolutely every piece to make sure I do not miss than gem I was searching for. So when I stopped in after seeing a friend's photos of the shop, I first noticed that the staff was personable and inviting. I really like when a place that is offering things for your own home makes you feel welcome in their business. It sets a tone. As I browsed through the different rooms in the shop, each was a little different. There are some standard items like candles, knick knacks, some women's jewelry and accessories, and even a few toys. But what I sensed was there were two themes that seemed most apparent. First, the store is loaded with holiday items. I came here just a few days before Christmas and the place was loaded with unique items that were affordable (though not cheap.) There were ornaments (marked down by 40%), table items, and things you'll just have to come in and check out for yourself. I also noticed a second theme that was promoting downtown Indy. They had pillows with the names of neighborhoods on them. Those would be great as house/apartment warming gifts. Even the candles mentioned earlier had neighborhood names on them, though I am not certain who determined which scent represented them. (Note that all the fragrances were pleasant, not some actual scent you might smell outside!) And the staff were friendly and welcoming. That goes a long way. I live just east of SoBro, though I'm known to claim the area as my homefront. It's an area I just…read moreplain love, a unique combination of urban edginess, friendly people with just a bit of attitude (like me), and a surprising amount of cool businesses. SoBro Vintage Market is probably right on that line between what would be considered SoBro and Broad Ripple, though it undeniably carries a SoBro vibe. In case there's any doubt, this is a vintage market. The vibe tends to change here from visit to visit, though I'm not going to say I actually frequent the place because, quite honestly, it's not always particularly wheelchair friendly. Some of this stuff is vintage enough that I don't want to take a chance on breaking it with my chair. You can get art here. You can get music here. You can get clothing here. You can get some furniture here. If you look up this place on social media, you'll see that they actually have "& Curiosities" in their name - that's appropriate because they have quite a bit that I would simply call "curiosities." Prices range from "great deal" to WTF?" It seems like when I've been here, I've always seen quite a bit that falls into mid-century. That's kind of appropriate considering an awful lot of SoBro would fall into that era (including my home - a 1955 California ranch). When they are open, they are known for putting some items outside (which is how I finally stopped - I saw a wonderful retro dining room table that was to die for). People are friendly and knowledgeable. I honestly don't know a lot about the place, other than I find it to be ultra-cool, and I've never stopped by that I didn't see something I'd want (and will sometimes get). If you're into the vintage scene, SoBro Vintage Market is definitely worth a visit. If you have mobility issues or are a wheelchair user, just be aware that sometimes it gets pretty tight inside and you'll want to exercise caution.

The clerks welcomed me when I entered and asked if they could help me. They told me about sales in many booths. Most booths were had clearance prices with prices up to 50% off. A friendly old shaggy dog makes its way past customers. The shop is filled with soaps, candles, jewelry and primitive antiques. I searched through every nook and cranny. Each room is creatively decorated. I found a Christmas ornament that I couldn't live without. Actually, I found several, but settled on one. The shop was filled with laughter, as clerks removed ornaments from trees. This made me happy. There is a restroom filled with whimsical antiques. The shop is a little difficult to see from the road, but they had banners out to pull people in. Parking is somewhat limited, but I didn't have trouble finding a spot. Well worth a visit.

There are all kinds of beverages to enjoy. All kinds of hors d'oeuvres are served. It puts people in a holiday spirit. I always finds something to take home. The stall owners are very helpful. Each stall is so personalized that you can find something special hidden in corners. Discovery is fun. The prices vary. I found a lovely candlestick for $5! Just what I was looking for. Of course I've been back several times. Once I walked in the door and within a minute I saw the exact Christmas tree I was looking for. SOLD. I hope people check out this quirky shop.
